The hotel is almost next to the bus station. The bus is convenient, the rooms are clean, the bathrooms are large, and they are cleaned every day. There is no elevator and it is troublesome to carry luggage up. The waiter is often absent, which is not good. Please note that there are very few bus trips on the Cotswolds on Saturday. There is no bus on Sunday. The day I arrived there was no bus on Sunday. . The so-called public transportation ticket can only be used for this route. After our stay last year, I couldn't wait to return to The Lygon Arms. We once again stayed in the open-plan wheelchair accessible courtyard suite, which is ideal for my needs. Aside from the beautiful hotel (which looked gorgeous with the autumn colours!), the main reason for returning was the staff. They put customer service at the heart of everything they do and, once again, they didn't disappoint. They even fixed the electric bed that I'd hired from a local firm (which arrived broken), so that I was able to safely use it - talk about going above and beyond! Particular thanks go to Paul, Claire, Sophia and Petra - thank you for making our stay so special.

In the small town of Broadway, I saw peace and peace, those antique buildings. The hotel is in that group of characteristic buildings, although it is an old building, but the decoration is very good, modern and ancient complement each other. The room was small and warm, and the bathroom was clean and tidy. The hotel's breakfast has several choices, pure English flavor is quite satisfactory, the amount is delicious, but it is not recommended to choose Scottish smoked fish, too salty. The bar is lively at night and you can taste the local GIN wine. Go out from the parking lot and turn right to the end. There is a cafe. It is quite popular. You can drink coffee and eat a cake and chat with the locals.

Every person I interacted with at the Volunteer Inn was really friendly - from the young woman behind the bar who greeted me and checked me in, to the chaps in the Indian restaurant (no cooking smells in the bedrooms, as restaurant quite separate, just in case you're worried abou that!), to the lady who cooked my delicious breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was really good - real coffee, wonderfully fresh eggs and great sausages and bacon. Lots of choice for vegetarians and those just wanting cereal too. I hadn't stayed in a b&b with a shared bathroom for years, so had been a bit worried about that aspect, but it was totally fine, as the bathroom was accessed by a key and it was only shared with one other room. I felt safe and comfortable, so that was not an issue. Although I'm originally from Cheltenham, I had not been to Chipping Campden for decades - WOW! It's one of the most unspoiled Costwold towns I've seen, with the most thatched houses in one place I think I've ever seen! The villagers I spoke with were so very helpful and friendly (was on a quest for new tights for my evening biz meeting!) Looks like the town is directly on the Cotswold Way too, so I shall return with my daughter and have a good old yomp! Recommend very highly - the bedroom was simple, but clean and very comfy (the only reason I marked down to a 4 on cleanliness was because my little waste bin had not been emptied from the previous stay....feel a bit mean doing that but, well, it is important...) I can't wait to go back!

We have been staying at Buckland for over twenty years now, each time we come back it feels like Buckland Manor wraps its arms around us until we leave. We only had a nights stay last Friday this time, but we get so much out of it. wood panelling, open fires, flag stone flooring, cosy chairs and sofas make for a warming atmosphere. On arrival we were greeted by Hasini on reception, with a warm smile, she helped us in with all our luggage and offered us a warm drink in the lounge, which is new to Buckland. We had not met Tegan before either who is the restaurant manager. She was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of her job and extremely helpful with a caring and warm Manner. Michal, who we have know for many years, welcomed us with a hug. He is so kind and professional with a wonderful sense of humour. Nothing is too much trouble, an asset to Buckland, all the staff are a fantastic team. Buckland has a new chef, his food was delicious…….too

Location is perfect, staff polite and helpful. Rooms are very tired and poorly maintained will many areas requiring attention and not reflective of the room rate. Communal areas also tired with thread bare carpets that were also dirty and dusty. As we arrived in the hallway we were greeted with a bucket catching drips from the ceiling. Not a good first impression. More attention to detail required and a good deepclean. Food was good but the GF offering of poor quality 😕 On checkout an automatic gratuity was added which we removed as we felt the quality of the room was poor for the price point. We mentioned the room condition and the member of staff replied that they were aware and had received complaints. So either lower the price or address the issues.
