We are very happy with our stay at Country Inn. Walking distance to Mall of America, there are 2 restaurants right next to the hotel also. Breakfast was pretty good, could use a different variety on the next day but not a big deal. Staff were super helpful and friendly, from the check in staff to the shuttle drivers they are treating you like they already met you before.
Consistent with other GWL’s. Decent food, friendly staff, great water park, and very busy. Things to do: water park with many slides, surf simulator, kid play area, lazy river, wave pool. Towels are free to use. Rock climbing, arcade, bowling (miniature balls/lanes) and probably lots more I didn’t see. We got a good deal on the room, but as always we always end up spending 3x what the room rate is buying pup passes, food, drinks, donuts, coffee, candy, yadayada. You can bring your own food and drink (even alcohol) in to the water park and hotel so you can make it less expensive but if you have kids especially under 10 yo you’ve got to get at least the smaller pup pass at $50 per. With pup pass they get some arcade play, build a bear, candy. It’s a nice fun thing for the kids to do. Overall we had a great stay and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean. It’s just really busy but that’s all GWL’s.

I stayed here for two nights with for a family trip in August. The pros: convenient location, big room. Breakfast bar was smallish, but was actually pretty good. The staff people seem to run it well. Cons. Cleanliness was an issue, One of our bath towels had a dried snot stuck to it and a couple of stray hairs on it. When I called the front desk for a replacement, they had me come down to pick it up, rather than send fresh towels up. Later, we found a couple of other towels also had loose hairs on them. Overall impression: yuck. Room was nice overall, but carpeting was pretty worn and just seemed kinda dirty. The evening before check-out, I noticed a pile of laundry outside the room next door. It was still there the next morning at the time of check-out. All in all, I left with the feeling that it’s a nice building and the hotel has some good qualities, including generally friendly staff. But the management seems to be skimping on housekeeping. Or maybe it's an issue of not being able to hire enough housekeepers. When I reserved the room for our mid August stay, it was one of the more expensive hotels in Bloomington. I decided to reserve it so we could enjoy a nice, clean hotel with friendly staff. Overall, I found that it was decent enough, but was disappointed by the cleanliness.
We had a great stay! Our room was clean and good size. I’m a light sleeper and I didn’t hear anyone above or below my room. The planes start up around 7a, but I’m up by then anyway. Easy walk to the mall, maybe 5 mins to the entrance. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. My only minor complaint would be the terrible in room coffee. The coffee in the lobby wasn’t any better. I’d like a keurig option or even a Mr Coffee. I’ll pack a press next time.
Though the ratings for this property are generally good and my past stays at Hilton Garden Inns have been good to excellent, this property fell a bit short of expectations. On the plus side, most of the staff were very nice, especially the evening hostess at the bar (I believe her name was Sue), and our room on the front side of the hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet. On the downside, however, rooms and hallways were dated and a bit worn, there was no food and beverage service Sunday night (not sure if that's every Sunday or just when we were there), the breakfast was a serve-yourself set up with selections that were more limited than you'd find at many Hampton Inns, and there was no table service at all. The only staff person who came close to our table at breakfast was someone cleaning the table next to us, with his backside against our table. The evening meals and service were, however, good. In short, not a bad place at all, but some improvements are needed to match my usual Hilton Garden Inn experience.
The room was clean and the staff we dealt with were very pleasant. However, the room felt slightly outdated and some items weren't working. After 10 minutes, the coffee pot had only put out a 1/3 of a cup of sludge and the light by toilet/tub would flicker for second & then go out, both of which I'm sure would have been taken care of had we requested. There was an obvious small section on the upper left side of the tv screen where you could only see a bright light, rather than the picture, as if the screen had pulled away. The paint in the bathroom appeared to be starting to pull away from the wall in places. Again, while clean, it is showing its age & need of an update. That all being said, we would stay there again with no reservations. The breakfast was excellent & items were replenished quickly. There was plenty of parking.
Terrible experience. We booked our room months in advance and prepaid for it. The room we booked was supposed to have a king sized bed. Well, when we get there we were informed that the hotel was overbooked and said we’d be in a room with two twin beds. Not two queen sized beds, two twin beds. We were asked if this was okay. We said that we weren’t and we wanted the room we booked and prepaid. The woman at the the front desk said she would give us a 50% discount on the room. Then when she looked she noticed we didn’t book through Hyatt and said we couldn’t get the 50% discount. Then she said she would charge us the $50 incidental fee. We were like why? We don’t buy anything in the room (and there was nothing to buy in the room) so this didn’t mean anything to us. Then she goes to the other guy working the front desk to see if he can do anything. I guess he was in charge. We couldn’t hear what they were saying, but he kept if exaggerating shaking his head no and saying no loud enough to hear him. He’s carrying on like we are asking for something extra for free which we weren’t. We just wanted what we paid for. It was very embarrassing standing there while he keeps carrying on and on. VERY unprofessional. He was way out of line. We finally gave up and went to our two twin bed room. We contacted the booking site we used and they got us our 50% refund after they contacted the front desk. Needless to say, I would think twice before booking this hotel. The staff really needs some training on working with people.
Overall very satisfied, ten minutes drive from the airport, can also take the hotel's shuttlebus, 24 hours service, one car every half an hour. Have lunch and dinner. There are fewer goods in the small supermarket at the front desk. The room was very clean and tidy. It was originally set to be a double bed and turned out to be two double beds, and it was super comfortable to sleep. Hahaha ~

武武Breakfast is relatively simple, but you can eat enough, the room is bigger, the bed is quite big, you can live with your child, very close to the airport, suitable for self-driving. Free parking in the car park.
GGuest UserPlatinum Elite/InterContinental Ambassador here. My review compares InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn stays….and the Mall of America is head and shoulders above the rest! Arranged and checked in online using App, and arrived early. Team recognized my status and gave me a spacious room without me begging!!! Room overlooked busy highway but barely noticeable. Sparkling clean throughout, huge well lit modern shower . Comfy bed. Great shuttle service! This hotel truly sets the standard for judging business stays! Thank you Team!
GGuest UserThe room was clean and beautiful. Although the breakfast was simple, the service staff was warm and friendly and made people feel comfortable.
GGuest UserThis hotel is pretty with its hip colors etc, and the food was good with easy access to airport and the big mall. But the rooms lack function including very few drawers, sink has very little counter space so not much space to place toiletries, strange blue carpet and sparkle tile in rooms on top floor, big silver closet doors (on top floor only possibly) that are about 2 inches above the floor which means when you close one it can slide right over your bare foot (which happened to me both cutting and severely bruising my foot). I reported the injury as soon as it happened. A gentleman came up and told me the doors are suppose to be like that. (Go look at your doors they all are much closer to the floor so this doesn't happen.) I left a note for them when I checked out after hobbling around for 2 days in pain and a week later still no reply or inquiry regarding that situation from anyone in management. I don't like to complain but maybe someone will read this review and care? Hotel shuttle was good at picking us up at the airport but not so good taking us back. We had a reservation for the return shuttle but they let other people on instead telling us airline crew had priority over us. Not sure about those other people who got on. We had to wait for shuttle to return since 2nd shuttle was having maintenance issues. We did like how your room key only allowed you to go to floor your room was on. That seemed safe. If you want maid service you have to request it.
GGuest UserStay Report - 3/14 to 3/15 Location: The hotel is located in a large crop of airport hotels on the south side of MSP. Around it as I said are a half dozen other hotels and an 8 minute walk away is the 30th Avenue station on the Blue Line which can take you to the airport or downtown. The Mall of America is close but not an easy walk in the winter. MSP is about a 10 minute drive away Hotel: A standard slightly older Fairfield Inn. It has a large parking lot with EV plugs, a decent sized indoor pool, two computer business center, breakfast room and a small sweet shop. The hotel shuttle will drop you at MSP or the Mall. It is a little older as a property and feels a generation behind. Check In: I arrived late and found a very friendly agent who upgraded me to an executive suite from my cheap AAA rate two queens and gave me a goody bag. Best you can hope for as a Titanium at such properties. Room: Very large with a living room area with an armchair, couch and desk and a separate bedroom area. It's not a true suite as there's just one TV but it worked well for my purposes. The bathroom was on the small side however. Luckily no issues with power, Wifi or noise Breakfast: Best of both worlds: both breakfast sandwiches and bacon and scrambled eggs plus the usual cold items. I was really happy with this property. It worked well for my needs and I was treated well as a Titanium. I'd definitely be back.
Highly recommend! The perfect place to stay for our group - nice amenities close to lobby (fitness room, pool, tv area, restaurant, bar, fenced in patio). We had a small family reunion and the staff was wonderful to work with! Everyone in our group was impressed, it was a feeling of sophisticated comfort away from the mega conference centers. The things that really stand out…friendly help setting everything up ahead of time, a comfortable and convenient first floor area to meet our needs, and helpful staff to bring it all together during the event. We used a small conference room near the lobby and they catered food right outside the room, and they also arranged for us to use the patio for just a bit when the restaurant was closed (tables with large umbrellas helped in the sun). It was perfect - we had all age groups, families with small kids, folks who didn’t want to walk a long ways...the space is well-designed to allow walking through or mingling, and was also updated a couple years ago so looks and feels like a gem!
GGuest UserMy family and I spent 1 week here. The service was great. Breakfast was good! Shuttle is reliable!!! Great convenient place to stay! We enjoyed going to Outback restaurant which is connecting to the hotel. Delicious food is there! Nice customer service! Would stay again!
GGuest UserBased solely on price to value, this would be 3.5 stars out of 5. Bedding, towels, and floor were clean, but the room smelled of decades of cigarette smoking. Opening the window and running the air helped. Continental breakfast is cereal, bread, or pancakes, but at least they had some sad-looking fruit. Front desk was friendly.
GGuest UserWe stayed at this hotel last year and booked a ”pool access room”. I thought it meant that they were restricting access to the pool to keep numbers down due to COVID. When we got there we realized they had rooms that opened up directly to the pool and that's what that meant. We still were not placed in one of those rooms. We didn't realize we didn't receive the room we paid for until we were already settled in and went down to the pool. We decided to just stay in the room we were given and still had a good time. We booked again last weekend because our young son loved the pool. We went to check in at 4:00 and there was a line out the door of people checking in. Every single person in line had an issue with checking in. I was behind six groups and it still took 45 minutes. She noted that I had booked a pool access room and they were sold out. I asked if there was a price difference to stay in another type of room. She said no - which seems a little ridiculous. We paid a premium to stay in a room with easy access to the pool. She said they were overbooked in every category and there were going to be a lot of angry people later that day. We got up to our room and it definitely wasn't the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. There were stains in the carpet, bathroom was dirty and everything seemed damp. There were no toiletries in the bathroom apart from a bar of soap. We booked the room for three people and there were only two shower towels. We said screw it and just used one of our beach towels to dry off with rather than harass the already understaffed hotel. We were planning on eating at JT's located in the hotel just for ease. We went down there and the door was unlocked, lights were on, but there wasn't a soul in sight. We don't think they ever even opened up on a Saturday night. A sign on the door would have been nice. My son enjoyed the pool and play area immensely, which made the ridiculous price almost worth it. But next time we want a hotel with a decent pool we will go elsewhere.
