Huge windows opening to forest and canyon walls, this rustic, lodge style cabin was custom built with many of the existing trees and local stones. A large fireplace is the focal point of the open great room where the gourmet kitchen and farmhouse table can be accessed. There is a large master bedroom and ensuite bath downstairs as well as two bedrooms, a bath, and a lovely loft upstairs designed for curling up with a book or watching movies from our large collection.Outside, there is a deck with dining area, lounges and a barbecue. In the side garden, there is a large farm table perfect for alfresco dining. This quiet and charming historical neighborhood of cabins originated in 1948. It is nestled between Oak Creek on one side and the Coconino National Forest on the other with wonderful hiking trails right out side the door. Oak Creek Canyon is renowned for its rugged beauty and breathtaking red rocks. The heart of Sedona’s restaurants, galleries and shops is 12 miles south of the cabin and Flagstaff, the gateway to the Grand Canyon, is 12 miles to the north. The temperature at the cabin is 10 degrees cooler than Sedona, which makes it cool and comfortable in the summer.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About customRules:Please park in driveway and not on street - limit of two cars.About checkIn:Check in after 3:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 25.About events:No events allowed.

Gorgeous Wall of Windows with Stunning, Painted Views- Close to Slide Rock and Oak CreekPrepare to be awed and inspired at our home- Painted Views. It is a modern loft home with tons of charm. This 2 story, alone home is located in an eclectic community. The community is located on Oak Creek; and right across from Indian Gardens in Oak Creek Canyon, just a few miles from Slide Rock Park. Its only 3.8 miles from uptown Sedona. Our home sits atop a hill with walls of windows for spectacular views from the entire top floor; which includes, the living room, kitchen, reading nook, master bedroom, and outdoor deck. Our home has natural wood flooring, ALL granite countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms, and all top end Bosch appliances. There are 2 flat screen TVs, each with its own DVD player, Direct TV, and high speed internet. We have a fully stocked kitchen (table settings for 8, glasses, pots and pans, knives, wine glasses and opener, utensils, and small appliances) just in case you may be inspired to cook. The master bath has a large glass enclosed shower with multi-level jets and a rain shower head. We have also supplied a blow dryer, an ironing board, and iron. Each bedroom has a pillow top queen bed, and the den has a sofa sleeper that sleeps 2. You will be staying in a luxury modern bungalow only minutes from town.If you read about the bumpy road in any reviews- let me be very exact about the road. You are on the main road I89 for about 5 minutes out of uptown until you turn onto the road going into our area…. Then you are on a road for about 2 minutes that is a little bumpy. It is nothing a car can’t navigate. The people who say it is bumpy are correct…But it is bumpy for a very small section of your travels. Going slow will help this and be respectful to our community! Remember we are not in the city- roads are not always perfectly maintained. Please be advised that this home is in a very natural setting, and because of that you will see critters both big (deer, coyotes, javelinas) and small (snakes, squirrels, bats, birds, and all kinds of insects). We use natural pesticides, but even with that (especially in the summer months) you may discover a few small visitors in the home as they seek shelter from the summer heat and monsoons. The Orchard House on Sedona Oak Creek- See and hear the pleasant calming sounds of Oak Creek & wind in the trees from an Eden-like private canyon back yard with ivy & wild roses grown along the back fence. This place is so peaceful. Canyon walls surround you, as Oak Creek runs year round. Retreat to this charming 4 bedroom, 2 bath canyon cabin with a deck overlooking the creek. It also has a separate room over the garage that can be used as a 5th bedroom but has to be accessed from the outside. This house is referred to as The Orchard House, due to the several varieties of apple, pears, peach and cherry trees, with grape vines along southern fence line. Also, let's not forget the two almond trees in the front....everything grows here!A wood-burning brick fireplace in great-room, a vintage replica stove in kitchen make for a great cabin-like setting. There is ample room inside & out for friends & family. A covered porch on both front & back patios compete for absolutely amazing views of mountains, creek, birds and stars! You will find that you will spend a lot of time in the backyard - with the deck/seating area overlooking the creek (our favorite place), a rope swing, a porch swing, mature trees, 2 large bird feeders, fire pit, a gas cooking grill and a charcoal grill for convenience, Sonos speakers and lights strung throughout. This backyard truly has a magical touch of nature that any age will truly enjoy. Although the yard does not have direct access to the creek, it is only about a 3 minute walk to it.If you are here to rest, relax and enjoy the beauty of Sedona, then this is the place to be. You will find this house to be detailed with all of the necessary things to make your stay enjoyable. Lots of thought and attention to detail make this property desirable... 5 very comfortable beds, plenty of cooking utensils, 3 different ways to make coffee, including a Keurig, comfy seating, fresh linens for beds and bathrooms. If you are headed to the creek, we have rafts, towels, coolers, and balls to make your trip fun. This house has everything. A perched game room/bunkhouse with a separate entrance is a fun place for kids or adults to hang out. The agenda; stroll to the creek, enjoy the ebb & flow of life's simple pleasures, take on a hike in many of Oak Creek Canyon's forest trails or visit Slide Rock that is one mile up the road. The location is unique as you are a short drive (5 miles) back into uptown Sedona where the dining, shopping or spa-ing opportunities are endless. Try the famous pink jeep tour for a fun and educational experience! You can also head up the 30 minute scenic route to Flagstaff on the newly renovated highway where there are ample opportunities for hiking, biking, shopping, dining or snow skiing to name a few. If you love wine, there are ample opportunities to try the Arizona wines. We recommend driving to Page Springs and Cottonwood...beautiful short drive and tasty wines!Other things to note.....Also, because we are a mountain property and located next to the creek, please be aware that the creek has the potential to overflow the bridge leading into our neighborhood, although it is rare. This usually occurs around March 1 and is because of melting snow up north in Flagstaff. This can cause traffic to be unable to cross into or out of the neighborhood for hours or days. Always look ahead at the weather and plan accordingly, by having plenty of food. Typically these events happen with lots of rain on top of existing snow in the high country. It is advisable to have an AWD or 4WD vehicle in the winter months, as snow is always a potential. Do not cross the bridge if signs are stating Do Not Cross and do not cross if there is snow on the bridge. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding that. A Cabin that is steps to the river with Mountain Views and a back entrance into the most popular West Fork Trail in Sedona, AZ on the Oak Creek River. 20min to Flagstaff and 10 min to Slide Rock we are in the most perfect and sought after location. If you don't want to be stuck in the traffic of Sedona and get away from it all then consider making this amazing place, your next Arizona vacation. This 3B/2B Cabin was built in a very special area to this red rock region which is secluded just outside the main congested city of Sedona. This is the area everyone comes to see and visit while they hike and fish and this cabin is perched 150yds above the river in the middle of it all. The amount of time you will save not having to drive while you circle the area for hours looking for a legal parking spots is priceless, especially when on vacation. Behind our two level cabin is the National Forest that provides all the privacy you need to relax and enjoy pitch black nights that smell of pine needles and wood burning stoves. With this seclusion does come some draw backs and that is snowing weather with rapid melts that swell the river and can at times, make our small private road that crosses over the river difficult. * Read below for all the details. 95% of the year there is no issues with accessing the cabin.Comfortably sleeps 7 (4 adults/3 kids) Three bedrooms...Master King and bath with shower, 2nd queen bed and 3rd upstairs kids bedroom bunk bed with pullout trundle bed. 2nd bathroom on top level has a larger shower with a larger full size stack-able washer dryer. Large open living room with amazing canyon views and extra large balcony for outdoor eating, BBQ, lounging and sitting around the safe propane fireplace (no wood fires permitted due to fire hazards within the cabin) Indoor fireplaces are not to be used due to fire hazard as well. 3 cars max with three parking spots up on our parking pad. There is no parking anywhere else as you will block the road or our neighbors parking. The driveway is steep and can be a problem in the winter, not allowing you to park in the designated parking area. If there is snow or ice on Shady LN we require you to have real 4x4 This is a cabin tucked in a canyon with only a few other homes close by so we ask all guests to be mindful the road and parking. There is a small country store down the road with a coffee shop and limited amenities. Although we have satellite internet (Starlink) which works great for internet browsing and emails it is not consistent enough to stream Netflix and other apps on a consistent basis. We have a large DVD collection and Direct TV DVR. We as owners enjoy the fact we have limited internet and can really unplug from the rest of the world and take a true vacation. Verizon and other major carriers have decent LTE coverage out on the front part of the cabin. Weather issues explained in more detail:There is a dry river crossing and short dirt road with a steep driveway access to the cabin for 95% of the yr that even a sports car can easily use but winter months can make access difficult. Let me repeat this may only happen a couple times a yr during extreme winter snows and flooding, this does not happen very often but when it does you need to understand this information below. The worst time is simply snow (3" or more) a few times in the winter which most 4x4's can handle with off road style tires but the real problem is if the driveway freezes and gets icy not allowing you to get up to the parking area. Then after the snow stops and is followed by warm weather or rain it can cause the river to flood. Best thing to do is book your stay around those winter months then reach out to us and we will advise you best we can if snow and floods are going to be a possible issue. Up to date weather info is only available 2 weeks out and not super accurate till days before. If weather prevents your stay we will refund you according to our refund policies. Two other things that can cause issues is if the state closes the main highway but, that is usually only during extreme weather and if they haven't plowed the road yet or second if the weather has been sever leading up to your reservation we still need time to get our cleaners in to clean after bad storms and it has been keeping them out. We will try our best to alert you of stormy weather but we cannot guarantee it. If it overflows or the road is closed while you are at the cabin you will not be able to drive out but there is always walking access out through West Fork parking/entrance by using a 1 mile long trail that is accessed at the end of shady lane via trail head which that has a very high bridge over the river. That trail might be muddy or snowy so I don't recommend it for elderly or small kids, but it is there and you can get out to the main highway. When I personally stay there and I feel like there is a chance that the river will rise on me I will sometimes park a vehicle at the West Fork Parking and leave a note for the rangers telling them not to tow and why I am parked there with my phone number. So I can walk out and have a vehicle. We will do everything we can to keep house open and available during those times. Finally there is a septic tank so you must be conscious not to flush anything other than waste and septic safe toilet paper. Most cabins in this area have self contained sewer so we are one of a few that has the convenience an actual septic tank. With all that said this is a special place despite it possible difficulties in the winter. You can fish along the river with a fishing license (rangers patrol and write large tickets if you don't have a lic) we just ask to be mindful of our neighbors, their private property and not to over fish the small creek. We practice catch and release with the browns and brook trout and when we want to keep fish we catch at Sedona Rainbow Trout Farm a few miles down the road. Very easy for everyone and guaranteed to catch trout for $. In late summer there are wild blackberries and crab apple trees which you can pick right around the house and all along the river. Pretty amazing to catch your dinner, pick fruit for desert pies and drink spring water collected only a few miles north.Max 3 cars. Two cars is more do able but there is room for 3 if need be. There is no parking for any additional cars.Propane tanks are available at the cabin and sometimes may be full, but refills are the responsibility of the guest and can be done at the Home Depot in Flagstaff or any gas stations that offer it.Trash Cans must be strapped closed and there is an additional cleaning fee if renters negligence allows wildlife to shred open the trash and make a mess. it will happen trust me even if you leave open one night. The raccoons don't miss a meal...ever. Also, if you take out the large bean bag please put it back in its spot in bunkbed room. It’s too large to leave out and our cleaner is a small 100lb woman who has a very hard time moving it around. **Please note that we do have security cameras located outside at the property.City of Sedona Permit #STR-24-0561About pets:Pets allowed: limit 2 total.Max 2 pets.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About checkIn:Check in after 4:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 25.About events:No events allowed.

GGuest UserIt's also a small local shop under the name of a big-name hotel chain. The location is not bad. It's not far from several tourist attractions and trails, and dining is very convenient nearby. The room is not big. There is a terrace on the first floor, which is only half a square meter, connected to the outside and neighbors. It's not exclusively for Chinese as Ctrip boasted. I guess the Chinese make a lot of noise, so they only give rooms on the first floor. Several hotels booked through Ctrip were assigned to the first floor or to relatively poor rooms. I don't know if it's because Chinese have a bad reputation and are not liked. I hope Chinese people will behave according to local customs and behavioral norms when they go out.

GGuest UserLet me begin by making the readers aware that the Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel is more of a motel than a hotel. Entrance to all the rooms including the elevator is via the outside. It's not like your typical hotel where you enter a lobby and proceed to your room or the elevators. When entering the GCPH to check in the lobby seemed very clean but dated. The staff was extremely friendly. When we first entered our assigned room, it smelled of smoke masked by air freshener. We proceeded back to the lobby to complain and asked for another room. The second room was acceptable, however, the room was small, dark and very dated. We had breakfast the next morning in their restaurant off of the lobby and the food and service was good. If you are looking for a place to stay that is close to the park entrance but lacks updated features and charm, then this would be an acceptable place to stay at. Cathy from Pennsylvania

GGuest UserFirst, the positive: 1. The staff was courteous, professional, and helpful. 2. The outdoor area was well above par. The pool was clean with in-pool loungers (4). Safety equipment and signage posted. Multiple cabanas (6?) were available. Large fire pit with plentiful seating. The pool is 5 feet deep at the center. This is not a pool made for swimming laps, but for lounging. 3. Rooms have an outdoor balcony with a table and 2 chairs. 4. Windows have both a blackout screen and a privacy screen. The window is able to be opened for fresh air and is screened. 5. HVAC was in good order and worked perfectly. 6. In room refrigerator was clean and worked well. Microwave, TV, and phone in room. 7. Breakfast area was spacious and breakfast offered multiple options though I did not avail myself of this amenity. Now, the negative: 1. The room itself was much smaller (king bed ) than expected. Room was cramped and looked nothing like the pictures on the website. 2. The bathrooms were recently remodeled, but the aesthetics are problematic. Why would anyone put wood laminate flooring in a bathroom with a walk in shower that has approximately a 2” inch lip and shower curtain in lieu of doors? You take a shower and the floor gets wet...no bueno. 3. There is a $10 per night service fee charged on registration. The fee is for wifi and other services. I don't recall seeing this posted when I reserved the room, but perhaps I overlooked it. I didn't object paying it, but the fee should be transparent. 4. Housekeeping is performed every 3 days and if you need more towels, etc., simply contact the front desk and they will have what you need brought up. Other: I booked the room for 2 nights but opted not to stay the 2nd night.

GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is very good, you can see Lake Powell next to it, and there should be a boat rental service. However, the door to the outside on the first floor cannot be locked. I don't know if it is the reason for the room or the hotel design, or pay attention. P.S. Hotel room card is very exquisite! You can tell the front desk to stay

AAUSSIETRAVELLERHotel was great, reasonable central location to big sightseeing areas. Fitness centre was ok. But the biggest downfall here for this hotel was the thin walls. We could hear voices/TVs at all hours (particularly mornings as lots of people were heading out early for tours). Could be just a joint room problem? Otherwise a very nice stay.
