The Cellars-Hohenort

From the beginning, the Cellars-Hohenort went above and beyond for us. The staff, management and property are exceptional. Nestled at the base of Table Mountain, this property offered a quite reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of dishes being offered and a continental spread available for starters. We will definitely come back and stay at this lovely hotel!

This is one of the most memorable hotel experiences during my 5 week around the world trip. Stayed one night during off peak season in early July 2024 with my kid when the hotel was still Hyatt’s partner. This place is a true and true 5 star hotel and the service was impeccable. Upon check in, Waheib (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) from front desk welcomed me and my son and delivered the great news that our room was upgraded with complimentary breakfast. He then proceeded to gave us a thorough tour of the hotel and explained every features of the room so patiently. This was our 6th country during our long trip and his service was the first of a kind. Thank you, Waheib. The beautiful room was enormous for us. There was a welcome note addressed to me and a welcome gift(bottle of wine) in the room. The towel warmer and extra long bath tub was so relaxing after a wet, cold and exhausting day. Ended up ordering room service for my son and the portion was huge that i couldn’t even help him eat them all. Food was fresh and of great quality. The breakfast in The Conservatory was just amazing. The ambiance just transported me to a different world with floor to ceiling window to enjoy the greenery outside from the comfort of magnificent indoor dining. Food was plenty and staff treated us with warmth, compassion and detail to attention. The fresh press juice was so refreshing and delicious. We later took complimentary shuttle to the botanical garden nearby. Our flight was not until late at night so we ended up eating early dinner there before checkout. The dining manager got me the fresh ginger juice available during breakfast when requested. The dining staff dropped what he was doing and took us around the property when asked for direction. Waheib then checked us out and came out to send us off on our uber. It felt like every staff member was genuinely happy to help hotel guests at any given moment. This service, in addition to the beautiful hotel built in 1700s, was what made this place so memorable even for a one night stay.

During our first trip to Cape Town, we had four very enjoyable nights at The Cellars-Hohenort. Despite the after-midnight arrival, it was a warm greeting by the reception staff who ensured we were quickly settled into a balcony room, and that was a welcome relief after our 20+ hour journey. There is so much to praise about The Cellars Hohenort: beautifully landscaped grounds, clear views of Table Mountain, excellent meals in their Conservatory Restaurant, luxurious and comfortable rooms, and the painstaking restoration of this historical property. The staff deserve a special note of praise for their professional and genuinely friendly and attentive service.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate her birthday. The staff were amazing in accommodating my special requests. We got an upgrade to a beautiful room with exceptional mountain views as well as flowers and champagne in the room . The entire facility is very tastefully decorated and the surrounding gardens are quite magnificent. Breakfast and dinner were well prepared. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly and efficient. A really nice stay just a short distance from the city yet so private in a beautiful setting.

The staff at the Cellar-Hohenort hotel is absolutely fantastic. I love how all the rooms are unique and the hotel is beautiful. The gardens are absolutely stunning and so peaceful to walk through and sit in. I honestly cant fault this hotel and I love staying here. I highly recommend this amazing hotel with their incredible team.

We had an amazing time at The Conservatory! From the warm smiles at reception to the stunning restaurant surrounded by lush greenery, we felt right at home. Our waiter, Xolisa, provided exceptional service, ensuring our needs were met with care. Although the rain limited our outdoor exploration, the complimentary umbrellas to escort us to our vehicles was a lovely touch. We'll definitely be back to experience more of what The Conservatory has to offer.
