Great hotel in Gwynedd - the Manager Hamid (who doubles as head chef) is brilliant as is his hotel and staff. I went on an Alfa Coach Tour for 5 days. Excellent value and a great time in Wales. Our driver Jason was exceptional and great with my fellow travellers. I thoroughly recommend this Leisureplex Hotel and Alfa Travel

Really disappointed as this used to be a very special Hotel to stay in or just go for a drink. Unfortunately as soon as you walk through the door it's disappointing. A huge dirty stain on the welcome mat. Dark corridor to your room with a old musty smell. Opening the door to what was advertised as a superior room was so disappointing, all the windows were dirty outside you couldn't see through them clearly and you couldn't miss them. The room was big but old furniture, The bedding was clean but marked. TV was placed in a very unusual position you would struggle to watch it in bed, Some of the curtains were hanging of the rail. There was no soundproofing at all, you could here any car or people talking all through the night. Also you could hear other guests, snoring, talking or walking around. The bathroom was large but nothing special at all, There was hairs on the bath, and the bottom of the bath wasn't fitted properly. There was no bath products. The loo seat wasn't fit properly. This definitely was not a superior room and should not be advertised or priced as one. Breakfast was like a basic breakfast you would expect to get in a Morrisons cafe. They take your order and come straight back to the table with it so it's obviously already batched cooked ready. Staff were efficient and polite. The Hotel is situated on the main High street so is in a good place to visit criccieth. In my opinion this Hotel is now used for coach tour Holidays to stop over at and that's what was happening there when we stayed. There is parking available for a Twenty pounds refundable deposit. Also there is plenty of free parking on side roads available.

We had not realised when we booked that this was part of a coach travel empire, but in fact thois did not matter... perhaps it was a bonus. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The room was large clean and comfortable. Breakfast --served for us along with lots of other guests was really good - I though the cooked breakfast would take some time, but in fact it was quick and well presented. If you are looking for individual luxury this may not be for you, but it was a revelation for us and great value.

A great place to stay. The Best things about it were the staff, the food, the maintenance, the housekeeping and the standard of the room. I did have to ask for a portable heater because the heating is only on in short bursts and that's not adequate for the colder months. I'd go back anytime!

We ended up in this hotel on a Coastal Mystery Tour from South Wales. What a lovely surprise. The hotel was clean, the food was excellent and the entertainment was very good. All the staff within the hotel were very helpful nothing was to much trouble. A special mention to our waiter Denis who was excellent and of course the chief who put on a fabulous menu every day. An excellent hotel all round.

We went with Alfa coaches on a Festive 5 day break. The hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas and it was spotlessly clean. The food was hot and tasty and really well cooked. Nothing was too much trouble for the waiting staff. The room was cleaned every day. Tony the driver was really informative and took us on a wonderful tour around Snowdon & Lake Bala, but Phwelli isn't really worth visiting. All in all a wonderful 5 day break.
