"Very convenient and comfortable"

"Checked in for 2 night stay with a friend and found staff to be very friendly. Atmosphere in the bar was great, service always prompt and food excellent on both nights. Breakfast large and tasty. The hotel is unmanned overnight and there are instructions as to what to do if there is a problem. On our last night the alarm started to go off at 4am... My friend and I went downstairs to see what the matter was,we were the only 2 guests in the hotel, checked outside and all around but could see nothing so we went back in and called the urgent line number to report the alarm to management. No reply...call went to answerphone and I left a message explaining what happened. I am still waiting to hear back!! The alarm continued until 8am and the chef came in, making out last night uncomfortable,noisy and being unable to get back to sleep. Alarms going off are nobody's fault and these things do happen, however it's how you deal with it that counts. The lady who came in to serve breakfast hadn't been told anything about the alarm by 9am so management clearly hadn't checked their emergency phone. We have had no apology. This,badly handled by management experience,has soured what was a lovely weekend up until then. "

Moatville Cupar

"Upper Moatville was a lovely place to stay. This 3-bedroom unit with 2 bathrooms was wonderful for our family of 4. It was beautifully set up, with so many extra touches that was just so convenient -- a fully equipped kitchen, extra charging cords (really helpful when coming from overseas), Netflix in the sitting room, fresh flowers, coffee machine, dishwasher, plenty of fresh towels and blankets, things like cooking oil and olive oil provided. It was beautifully decorated, such a warm and inviting place to be over Christmas and Hogmanay. It was a great location. The unit is 3 doors down from the back of the Co-op, so very convenient for getting any needed food, milk etc. The 787 bus stop (going straight to Edinburgh airport) is only a couple of minutes walk away and it is around the corner from the rental car place and a short walk to the train station. 20 minutes drive to Dundee and less to St Andrews. It was very quiet (couldn't hear traffic or other noise at all) and had a beautiful yard with glasshouse sitting room (too cold for us in Dec/Jan, but could be great other months)."
