We chose this hotel due to reviews here and the location in Dakar. Having traveled in various African countries it sounded like a good deal. We arrived after busy working days in Senegal (for my wife) and Burkina Faso (for me) in the Oceanic. So we needed some calm and quiet and thought - since the hotel is away from the main streets - this would be alright. It was a Thursday night during the Football World Cup 2022 - we would have expected some noise, but since all the games had ended at 21:00 - the night should be calm and quiet. We had some food outside and arrived for the night at about 23:00 with a tremendous noise. - ”oh, it's just the neighbours, they will stop at midnight” - that's what we were told at the reception - this happens every Thursday - apparently. Now if you check my pictures - you can see there is absolutely no noise canceling in the rooms - neither the door, nor the window keeps even a whisper outside - but especially no bass from a 200.000W Karaoke machine. So - incredible noise until about 00:15 - then slowly but steadily the noise went ... We were told this only happens on Thursday - so we left Dakar on Saturday for a tour and decided to give the hotel another go for two nights on our return to Dakar before we headed back home. Big mistake. We arrived back on a Tuesday about a week later. After a long trip all through Senegal - again - for some quiet winding down. And then it started - Tuesday night - Metallica in your room - I am serious - even if I raised my computer volume or the TV volume to the max - no way it could be louder than the noise that entered from the neighbours. Incredible. 22.00 - the receptionist went over to the restaurant and asked them to turn the music down - result: the music volume in the room went down from Metallica, let's say to Johnny Hallyday. So I went down again at 23.00 and asked the reception to go over there again, to call the owner, the police or to find us another room. Now the nigh**are starts. The receptionist was repectless and told me to find a new hotel - if I am not happy with my room and the noise. He will not call the police - and the owner already called the neighbours - everyone helpless - as we found out. I stayed at the reception until 00.15 - the music was still going strong - we were offered nothing - they were helpless and the receptionist rude (he never came back to say he was sorry, neither did the owner encourage that - since we met him again the following night - he barely looked at me). The next morning the owner of the hotel came to explain to us, that there is a political issue and that he can not do anything about the noise. The police will not do anything (that is what he was telling us) that's why he will never call them. Well - if you never try, you never know, as Coldplay said. He told us that they had an agreement, that there will only be noise on Thursdays - we saw how that agreement worked out... And what an agreement that is - I guess that should be

I have been to this hotel a few times. The last experience was the worst. I came to this hotel from long way and despite availability, reception asked 80 usd extra for 2 people for 1 or 2 hours earlier check in which i have never came across with something like this considering my big hotel experience. The only good receptionist was Mr ABASSY, he is so sacrificing worker. Safety box was not working and to change the room he came by himself to help me. Also when i was restaurant the waiter insisted to pay at the table but Mr Abassy accepted to put in room bill and we paid for befor check out. The workers there are not aware that they are selling service… Strange attitudes… food at breakfast buffet finished but they dont follow well to bring new food again. waiting waiting… the hotel group must chech these things otherwise customers will move to other hotels i believe…

Ibis is much better than the local hotel at the same price, sharing a small courtyard and a garden with Novotel. Can choose the sea view room, very quiet, recommended.

Spent two weeks in October/November 2022 with a large training group. Hotel is perfect for business meetings. Food is great, rooms spacious, air con works, back up generator, nice swimming pool. Beds lasher and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially for us Anglophile’s. They were bilingual and sorted out any issue. In particular Oumy of conference services and Oureye at front desk

This is the second time staying at this hotel , it’s a good clean place to stay with a certain charm . I think it’s run by a French family. Convenient location and a nice restaurant on the roof for dinners, I highly recommend this place

The reception building is above the ground, the guest rooms are below the ground, and the sea view room is developed on the cliff.
There are airport buses that run every 2 hours. But it's not free. One bus costs 20,000 West African CFA francs, and the other 35,000. We leave at 5 o'clock and drive to the international airport for one hour. I don't know how much it costs to get to the airport.
Turn right out of the gate 100 meters and there is a shopping center with a market operation inside, and there are boxed lunches and grilled chicken for sale.

Great location, very clean and professional. Employees are also super friendly. I would suggest to the managers to developp a ”culture” of tips (ei; puting an envelopp in the rooms so clients can show their appréciation of the cleaning, add the option for tips in the interac machines used at the restaurant on the fort floor, etc.) so the employees get increased working conditions.

Very Good
GGuest UserLovely hotel and facilities are wonderful. Rooms very comfortable with great beds and good showers. Nice amenities too... robes, slippers, etc. One disappointment was the inconsistency in the service we received. For instance, went to the restaurant in the hotel. No one stopped by our table for about 20 minutes, and finally we flagged someone and ordered drinks to start. 40 minutes later, we still had not gotten our drinks - so we left the restaurant and instead went upstairs to the lounge. Service was excellent there. Another example, the pool is open until 8 p.m., but found it impossible to get a towel at 5:30 p.m. Just a bit disappointing for a 5-star resort.
SSHASHI AMARNANIAmazing hotel. Clean, big room size. Hotel staff was kind. Hotel is 15mins away from the proper down town area. Hotel should give more water, at check in only gave 1 bottle. And the next day didn’t put a new bottle.
HHANWEIBreakfast is not like, bread, omelet, 1 each, coffee, drink a cup to check out 3500 West. There is no toothbrush and toothpaste slippers in the room. The spa does not have to buy it outside. The charging plug of the mobile phone is not the same as buying the conversion head; the room is still clean.
GGuest UserI’m in two minds about this hotel - there’s a lot of great aspects but equally a lot of improvements needed. In the days leading up to my stay I tried to reach out for assistance with transport from the hotel, but unfortunately there was no response to email and difficulty with English over the phone. Fortunately taxis are easy enough to source at the airport but allow at least an hour, and my return took two hours in peak traffic. Checking in was an easy process with staff on hand to help with luggage despite it being an early hour of the morning. Staff were friendly and quickly explained the facilities and although it felt a basic affair it was quick. My room was on the same level as reception and was listed as a Superior Single room. Fortunately this didn’t equate to only having a single bed and the room was pretty spacious. With a tiled floor throughout and effective air-conditioning it was a cool room despite the hot weather and with a separated living area by a step it would be a comfortable space for an extended stay. There was a large desk with kettle but only a single coffee sachet provided, which felt tight despite the single occupancy. There was a large bottle of mineral water however. The TV was wall mounted opposite the bed, a decent enough size for the room but with rather poor picture quality and only a single channel in English from the US. The selling point for the hotel rooms has to be the sea facing views though, along with the balconies. This is a nice space with the seats and the sound of waves crashing on the rocks below a great feature, although I’m not sure I’d feel so relaxed during stormy weather! The bathroom was an okay space with plenty of storage space around the sink. Again, only a single item of each toiletry was provided, and none of them seemed to match, but there were enough towels of decent enough quality. Bizarrely the toilet seat was too small for the actual toilet and there was no form of door or curtain on the shower which made it feel a bit of work-in-progress area. The shower head was good, but with very sensitive temperature control and inconsistent heat, but at least a large unit. Overall it was a comfortable enough room. There were some bugs which could be found, small within the lower living room area, some larger hiding in the gaps around the wardrobe, but not something which couldn’t be put to the back of the mind. A lot of the decor appeared to be water damaged and was really due a touch up, both within the bathroom and main bedroom ceiling. Housekeeping weren’t always the quietest in the morning, but they always observed the privacy sign and there was zero noise from the adjacent rooms. On the lower level is the restaurant, and below that the bar. Both overlook the ocean but have very limited seating outdoors. The air-conditioning inside is very effective and the staff all very friendly, but somewhat limited with English. With the lights off during the day it didn’t always feel the most cosy
GGuest UserThis place is truly awful. I travel Africa for a living so I have experienced many lovely hotels across the continent. This is not one of them. The place is palatial - I would describe it as ”faded decadence, a relic from the past”. The rooms are perpetually damp and uncomfortable, with A/C that cannot be shut off so I spent much of my time freezing in my room. The WIFI is terrible, works intermittently in rooms and not at all in conference areas. The grounds are far too spread out with the conference facilities a 5-10 minute walk from the main building - making it unwieldy to return to your room midday. The food at the restaurant is barely passable. Worse yet, I put a ”do not disturb” sign on my door permanently for the 5 days and nights I was there as I did not want my room cleaned and didn't want anyone entering without me there. Despite that, on at least two occasions, staff tried or did enter my room (once while I was sleeping, which felt a bit creepy). But the worst of all is that somebody entered my room and stole $200 (leaving another $250 behind with the hopes it would not be detected, I am guessing?). At first, the hotel management ”appeared” to take this seriously. They interviewed me not once but twice in their management offices, taking copious notes and asking about lots of detail with lots of pomp and decorum. They said they had cameras and card readers that could identify who the culprit was and promised to take rapid action and get back to me soon. You know how this story ends - I never heard back from them, despite assurances that they would email me the next Monday upon my return to the US. It struck me that they wanted to put up a pretense of ”looking into it”, but the minute they realized I would not make a public fuss about the incident, they fell into inaction. So in conclusion, I would say the hotel is not very safe and management doesn't truly care about security issues. Go somewhere else. Dakar is filled with many wonderful hotels so you won't lack for choice.
FFANGThe hotel is surrounded by the sea on three sides, and it is very good for vacation and leisure. You can see the sun rising on the Atlantic Ocean... There are a lot of eagles here. Whether hovering, swooping or perching, eagles will make you remember them with a special call. The service is very good, the breakfast provided by the hotel is very good, the pool is also very good, the service is great
巴巴黎街的烟斗The location is not convenient and there are no restaurants nearby. The room design is a bit strange, the shower is open and there is no door. The only thing is that health is quite good.
