It took half an hour to check in, although the attitude is very good It is equivalent to the domestic Hanting, with complete equipment but very old The bathtub is a plus, but the shower is not removable The heating is very warm, but the timer cannot be set The mattress is high and has support The Internet speed is very slow, too slow, the corridors and rooms have a musty smell The breakfast at 9.5 pounds is relatively average, but the service attitude is quite good, and you can pack a breakfast It is also a plus to have a kettle and coffee and tea bags

Throughly enjoyed our recent stay. Nothing was too much trouble for Catherine and the team. Will definitely be booking again when next visiting family in the area. The room was very comfortable. Added bonus was plenty of car parking and no extra charge.

We were a party of 5 who arrived quite late in the evening. We needed a disabled access room, which had not been booked at the time of booking, and we also needed to be on the ground floor as some of our party were unable to use stairs. The hotel staff were very helpful and spent a lot of time and effort to rearrange thing to accommodate us. We were all very grateful for this service. The restaurant was competitively priced, the food very good and the atmosphere very pleasant. We enjoyed our two night stay, and thank the hotel staff for their excellent service. The hotel location is great for visiting Royal Derby Hospital, and a bus service runs to the centre to Derby from across the road. Its also very convenient for the A38.

Third stay at this hotel as it strikes the right balance for us for Alton Towers trips. Far enough out to be a cheaper stay, but close enough to get to the park easily. However the changes to the restaurant this year have meant that we will be looking for an alternative in future. The closure of the adjoining pub and opening of “The Social” in house restaurant has had a negative impact. Previously I’ve invited friends to join us for our evening meal in the pub and it’s been lovely. The new restaurant space is located in the ground floor bedroom corridor behind a keycard access door. The space is clean and bright but not welcoming as a “social” space. The kids didn’t want to stay after eating and there is no longer an outdoor space for them to enjoy. The one toilet is located in reception so even though it’s still open to the public, non staying visitors would need to be let through to the restaurant. The menu is dramatically reduced compared with other premier inn restaurant brands such as beefeater and thyme and the menu is generally underwhelming in its appeal. A table sign offering 2for1 cocktails gave us hope that the uninviting feel of the restaurant as a space to spend the evening, might be just down to our personal preference, but alas, there were only two cocktails on offer. I’ve always enjoyed staying at premier inn and taking advantage of the excellent value meal deals, but this experience of the new restaurant brand will make me double check the dining option for future bookings and avoid hotels with the social branding. Of course the rooms, cleanliness, beds, showers etc are all of the standard you’d expect from a premier inn, and the staff are all happy to chat about your visit, and offer help. Breakfast was also consistent at living up to expectations with all the usual options. I would stay here again if I wasn’t wanting to eat evening meals or spend the evening at the hotel with kids.

We stayed with a 7 month old baby on arrival we asked at reception if they would be able to sterilise the bottles for me the man said yes and told me to bring them down. I returned an hour later after I had fed my baby and washed the bottles to be told he had left already. The two woman who were working were very rude and refused to do this. I understand the health and safety concerns but the attitude of the workers and lack of concern for how I was going to get them sterilised that late on to feed my baby was disappointing. We had added on a meal deal for each adult and had booked a room for 7.45pm we turned up on time and were seated. We were ignored and had to ask to make our order our starters were not ready until 9.15 one of which was wrong and they forgot to mention they couldn't do it so we had to then make another order. We get our main meals at 9.30 and then they brought our desserts to the table while we were eating our main. We will never return to that restaurant it was highly disappointing and the staff were terrible. On top of that no mention of the fact that premier inn is cashless and we were almost stranded with no way to pay luckily one of the party had a bank card! On top of that we had to work out our own bill as it took 45 minutes for two workers to tally up the bill and didn't believe us when we told them how much we owed. Horrible experience all round.

We stayed to attend a wedding locally and this was the closest venue. When we needed a taxi we just had to pick up the phone in reception and the taxi arrived within 5 minutes!! The bedroom was extremely comfortable and we both had two excellent nights sleep…very comfortable bed and extra pillows if needed. The staff on site were really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Great food on site too. Excellent stay at this hotel. Thank you

Great size room, comfortable bed, good location to nearby venue we were attending. No longer a Beefeater next door but there is a restaurant within the hotel. We had the breakfast at a good price and enough choice of food and drink. Friendly staff
