Hotels Near Houjie in Dongguan

Very nice hotel. Modern rooms and all amenities. Had a room with a great 180 degree view. Only, be aware this is also the smallest room on the floor. It is quite a narrow room with only about 40cm space between the bed and the opposite wall. As such the (nice and spacious) sink, toilet cubicle and shower room are besides eachother along the entrance. Different but all good. I travelled on my own; for a couple it might get a bit tight. Overall very satisfied. And close to Humen train station; reason why I choose the hotel.

The location is about 10-15 mins walk to the metro. Room is clean and stocked up with drinks in the fridge free for the guests to consumed. There is even night porridge provided between 9:30-11.00pm. All staff are pleasant and courteous. Only criticism I have is the hot breakfast should be warm and heated better. Likewise the night porridge. Overall, highly recommended

The hotel is beside a theme park and a big shopping mall. The rooms are comfortable and complete. They also provide free drinks in the mini bar. Breakfast is more than complete. It is one of the best in china.

Hotel is fairly popular. Called at 3am. Bus came at 3.15am and waited another 15 mins for more people. In contrast to other smaller hotels which pick and leave quickly. As the bus pick passengers hourly from hotel, bus will be at airport area from 15 to 30 mins pass the hour and if you miss it, you got to wait for next hour. Tip is to sit in front of the bus once you board else passengers who get on late will get off first and you got to wait another 15 mins for check in. Breakfast is above expectations and room is clean and comfortable.

Stayed during canton fair & a week after. Total 2+ weeks. Here are my feedback: - location can get any better. With Shipaiqiao metro station just few steps away. Exit b on the right & exit A on the left. I usually take exit A through the mall next door if u don’t want to climb steps. - mall next door called one link mall. It has all that you need. From food, shopping, Starbucks & others. - malls: there are series of malls next to each other. Walk through one link mall exit on the other side to reach to the enormous Grandview mall. Across grandview mall you get the popular underground mall. Continue straight you get the Tianhe sports complex mall. - there are many eateries around & 711/ family mart - taxi drop is either at the side of the hotel or Main Street which is advantage to go around but not so much when you have lots of luggage. So it’s good to ask driver to drop you at the side with your luggage. Take note that when searching with the hotel address in didi taxi app, you will get many different hotel names but they all lead to the same. - there are two hotels in the same building . Grand rezee & Elchic which is the actual name of the hotel on the building. -cleanliness: its very good. You will see some Aging/ scratches on furniture & others but overall very good - staff are willing to help. I tend to ask them for help not in peak hours. I had few times when they don’t reply or not so helpful & usually when they are busy which was understandable. I asked them to extend my checkout to 6 pm for free since I stayed 2+ weeks but they didn’t accept. So I paid for it. - breakfast just ok if you are used to western breakfast but otherwise is good. - laundry room, drinking station at lobby & other facilities are really good. - communication is usually through WeChat with staff. So any request I needed, I’ll message them. That came very useful as I don’t speak Chinese. - I’m solo traveller & felt very safe in the area - room: not as big but adequate. Most importantly, clean. Stayed on the 18th floor & the view was great. Bed is very firm for me so I had to ask for additional blanket & slept on it. Finally, I would say, if this is in your budget. Don’t hesitate to book it. Esp if it’s your first time in Guangzhou. P.s. free shuttle bus to canton fair was not helpful as it goes out very early at 8 & 8:10 am (I think most booth weren’t ready until around 10. And the coming back was so late at 5:50/ 6 pm. The fair closes around 4+. And the bus parks at area D where the rest of other hotel buses were at area A. The walk from area a to D is very far. So A A during my stay I did not use the bus. I really hope the hotel improves the timing for next year. Perhaps one early & one late to accommodate not only the booth owners but also the fair visitors.

The hotel is very good. The room is very large and clean with independent air conditioning. There is a nice large shower area so no need to be standing in a bath tub. The breakfast buffet is very delicious with lots of variety for the Asian style, while western style is a bit limited. After 9.30 pm, there is a free evening meal with congee, millet congee, some steamed dimsim, as well as condiments. This is a very nice service that I haven't seen before in other hotels. There is free laundry service with 3 washers and 3 dryers. The gym in the same area has a treadmill. The only problem I found was that there are tonnes of mosquitoes everywhere. They provide a mosquito repellent that plugs into the power point but the mosquitoes seem to be everywhere, so make sure to bring some insect repellent. Also, there isn't an ideal area for a taxi or Didi car to park to drop off/get on. The taxi blocked the road to allow us to get our and get our luggage, which was a bit awkward. My recommendation when calling a Didi or taxi is to do so in the neighbouring New World hotel, which is only a five minute walk.

We stayed at Mercure Beijing Road for 4 nights and was very pleased with the entire experience. The location is the obvious highlight. You're about 5min away from the Metro and literally at the start of the city's main commercial center. The staff were professional and very helpful. They handled all the Taobao items and diligently kept them in order. The only downside is perhaps the toilet's layout? Its WC and shower is separated and the sink is on the outside. Some might like it, some might hate it. At this time, I'm just nitpicking.

The location is good. There is a foods street just opposite the hotel and just 5 minutes walk to Beijing Pedestrian Street. The room is big and the bed is very comfortable. Seperate toilet and shower area is great. There is free coffee machines and drinks at the hotel lobby so we can have coffee every morning. All the staffs are very friendly, the hotel even provides me more (4-5) bottles of drinking water everyday and late checkout till 2pm. The only cons are the soundproofing in the room is not that good, can hear the noise from next door and also outside the window. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Comfortable bed, great rooms, outstanding location. Staff goes out of their way to help. Our room had some smoke smell and the staff did not hesitate to move us to another room with an air purifier, which greatly improved the situation. Unfortunately in the evenings the smell had come back (perhaps it was due to some neighbours smoking in their rooms). The rooms actually had really good sound proofing but I think we were a bit unlucky that our neighbours were having a really good time (🤭😉🤭) for a few hours in the middle of the night (~2am - 4am) so that disturbed our sleep a little bit. But honestly I think no 5 star hotel would be able to sound proof that level of screaming happiness. Overall considering the circumstances we would definitely stay here again.
