We stayed at Kip in the Kirk while walking the West Highland Way, and it was a highlight of our journey. Frances is an incredible host, going above and beyond to ensure her guests have a wonderful experience. It truly felt like being a guest in her home. Our room was spacious and clean. In addition to private rooms, there is a dorm-style bunk room, but all guests were welcome in the kitchen and lounge, and the atmosphere was quietly friendly - all the social opportunities of a hostel but none of the noise or chaos.

What a great place to stay. Unique in that it used to be a church. The worn stone steps and the stained glass windows made it a unique place to stay along with the proprietor Frances who made sure I didn't miss out on her welcome snack of scones and local jams. Frances was also full of West Highland Way knowledge and reccomendations. I slept in a bright and airy unisex dorm room of bunk beds on a comfortable mattress and sheets that had been dried on the line. I love that smell! Breakfast was included in the 35 pounds and we sat on pews around a large table and helped ourselves to French press coffee, orange juice, toast and jams and marmite. A selection of cereals, yogurt and fruit was also available. I would highly recommend staying here. There was a couple also staying who had a private room and breakfast.

I had a lovely stay at Kip in the Kirk as part of my WHW adventure. Frances is a lovely lady and thee perfect host. She took time out her day to chat to you and I loved hearing her stories of running the trail. The room upstairs was spacious, clean and a comfy bed. The warm scone and tea was a lovely touch after being soaked through on Day 1. The Clachan serves the most delicious food and is 2 minute walk away, as is a local shop for anything you need. Thank you Frances, it was a pleasure staying with you. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed in the Kip in the Kirk after hiking the first leg of the West Highland Way. Francis greeted us with tea and homemade scones - the best scones of the trip. The rooms were comfortable and the common space was great for all of us to recount the first day.
