The lady staff at the front desk was very helpful. She went out of her way to accommodate my family checking in a couple of hours early. She also made available a two queen bed room so that my teenage daughters didn't have to share a bed. The breakfast buffet delicious and worth the buck. Thank you Kingsgate Hotel staff for ur wonderful service.

The hotel is in a great location, next to the Octagon Square, the First Church and Dunedin Railway Station! Because I went there at an unfortunate time, the hotel parking lot was full, but it happened to be the weekend, so you can park for free as long as you are within the white line, which is really good! The hotel facilities are a bit old, but still relatively clean and tidy! The hotel is very close to the beer restaurant, which is said to be very famous. I recommend going there! Overall it is good, and the price/performance ratio is OK!

The second floor corridor door is very bad. Whenever someone goes in and out, it makes a loud noise, which makes me sleep badly all night. The hotel's own parking space also charges 15 New Zealand dollars. I didn't pay attention when I checked in at night. When I opened the balcony at dawn the next day, I found that the flag hung by the hotel was very unique! Anyway, I checked out immediately at dawn and will not stay here again.

The parking lot next to the hotel is not available. You have to pay 25+$ to let the hotel park for you. However, the breakfast in the hotel is pretty good. It is also close to citytown.

The hotel is in a great location.
Just outside the door is the Dunedin Botanical Gardens/Ecological Park/Municipal Garden/Large Lawn. The roses and alpine vegetation inside are really spectacular.
A short walk along the way, there are various restaurants and a large supermarket (New World).
The famous ”World's Most Inclined Street” is not far from the hotel either. We walked back and forth.
Full facilities.
The room is large. The kitchen, bedroom, living room, and bathroom are all independent.
Washing and drying are available.
The best thing is that the hotel provides Chinese services. The front desk lady is very nice.

The hotel is in an old building, and the facilities are a bit old, but it has a retro feel. Different people have different opinions, so you can like it. Fortunately, the sanitary conditions are good and the location is convenient. There is a large supermarket next to it.

Stayed in Dunedin for one night and chose this motel which is relatively centrally located. It has free parking and plenty of parking spaces. The two bedrooms are small but fully functional, with one king-size bed and one twin bed. The living room is relatively large. The kitchen is at the entrance. Although there are kitchen utensils, the place is small and not very convenient. It does not allow for cooking with strong odors, so we made breakfast. The bathroom is very small, comparable to that in Japan, but the room is very clean and tidy. The landlord is very friendly and helps with luggage. There is no elevator in this hotel! You can walk to the Botanical Gardens and the University of Otago, and other attractions are only a few minutes drive away. Parking here is quite convenient, and the beach is about 15 minutes away by car.

The location of this hotel is amazing! It is a very quiet and comfortable place at the corner of Bajiao Street. You can see the street from the small balcony of the window, but it is very quiet. There are various churches within a 10-minute walk, and there are many restaurants and shops on the road within 20 minutes of the train station. The key is that parking is very convenient and there are many parking spaces in the yard. highly recommended!

Facilities: Fully equipped with tableware, tea bags, microwave, and cups, all carefully prepared, but you need to bring your own slippers. This is the same in almost any hotel (in New Zealand)
The mattress is super comfortable and supportive. Very good sleep.
Hygiene: clean, spotless, satisfactory, cost-effective
Environment: Quiet residential area. I saw a kitten in the morning.
Neat, clean and bright
Service: Although it is self-service, because I arrived very late at night, the owner left a light for me, which was very warm.
Thank you also to Ctrip for your service. My phone card is a data card I bought but I couldn’t make calls. They helped me patiently communicate with the store and it was very timely!

The host is so helpful and provides us with some attraction routes, which is more interesting than driving through the highway! And Rocky (Labrador) is soooo cute! GGuest UserThe room was very clean and warm, the bedding was particularly good, and the sleep was very comfortable. Very quiet, suitable for sensitive people like me. The boss is very good. It's a pity that it rained after staying here for a day, and I didn't have time to experience the fun of Danitin. The only drawback is that the faucet hot and cold water are old-fashioned separate, not very convenient.

PPhilippa16This hotel is very handy to central Dunedin. The unit was warm when we used 2 lots of heating sources. It had everything we needed for our stay. Great little kitchenette. Bathroom was OK, no ventilation system to extract moisture, so just had to keep windows open. (A tad chilly)
My only minus was how much street noise and student noise we heard every night. Hard to get to sleep. However this is not a fault of the hotel.

When booking, I left a message on Ctrip that I needed to reserve a parking space, but for some reason, the hotel did not receive the information from Ctrip. Finally, the hotel front desk helped to provide a temporary parking space. Thank you very much for the hotel front desk's assistance!

GGuest UserLeviathan Hotel is a classic hotel with a nice interior of the common areas (wooden stairs, old fashioned furniture etc.) and an old style elevator and keys for the doors. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My rooms is in the small side and if your want a super new and spotless hotel this one is a little bit old and worn which is part of its charm.
