I came to Dunhuang late for the National Day holiday, and all the good hotels were sold out. Fortunately, I got this nice hotel, but it was a standard room without windows. The room was quite spacious and had a bathtub. The hotel is about four stars overall, and the breakfast is not bad. There is not much to eat around the hotel, but you can order takeout.

As soon as we arrived at the underground parking lot of the hotel, two waitresses took the initiative to guide us to the elevator (the hotel is quite large) and rushed to help with the luggage. From the garage all the way to the front desk to check in and enter the room, all the staff we met took the initiative to greet us Happy New Year! The hotel service is average. Thanks to the waiter who took the initiative to take the luggage and open the door. During the period, I also went to Dunhuang Villa. There is harm when there is comparison. The reception there is more down-to-earth. Overall, I feel that individual guests may not be the main reception target here. The aunties serving room service are more enthusiastic and polite, and they consider us everywhere.

Metropark is a nice hotel located near a river and is relatively central to the city. A lovely staff member, 李雪 (Li Xue) helped me check in and she took me to my hotel room. She was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel room is very spacious, clean and quite luxurious. The hotel is within walking distance to the night market and the museum. You won’t regret staying here. In summary it’s a very nice hotel (quite large actually) that is perfectly located (about 1km walking from the sand dunes (Mingsha mountain and Creacent Moon spring area). Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the architecture is also really nice. The views from the roof top terrace (breakfast/ coffee spot) are amazing and the breakfast itself is also quite good. The downside that’s also to mention: Price wise it’s a bit expensive especially during holiday season. Rooms are a bit old and you can hear everyone passing by.

Accommodation in Dunhuang is relatively cheap in the off-season, and the service is also relatively good. The hotel is not far from Mingsha Mountain and is also relatively close to the Dunhuang Night Market. This hotel has airport pick-up service, which is very good. I booked it for one day and directly renewed it for 2 days. The hotel is clean and hygienic, so I won't say much about it. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas, the toilet is electric, and the breakfast is very rich and superb.
