Hotels in Shazhou Market, Dunhuang

The Dunhuang Hotel lives up to its reputation! It's located right next to the Shazhou Night Market and offers a wealth of dining options. The hotel's facilities are first-class, elegant, and beautifully appointed. I originally booked a king-size bed room without a window, but the hotel proactively upgraded me to one with a window, which was very thoughtful. The room was comfortable and cozy, and the front desk and housekeeping were attentive and helpful. I stayed four nights, and while the room was quite expensive, it was a great value! The only downside was the breakfast. While the breakfast setting was pleasant, the service was friendly, and the food looked plentiful, it was almost identical every day and not particularly tasty. The hot dishes tasted like leftovers. The cantaloupe wasn't sweet at all, and there were several canned fruits on display. It's harvest season, so why not have more fresh fruit?

The breakfast at 7 AM was very generous and varied, featuring local specialties like peaches, a local mutton dish served with bread, yogurt, and coffee. They also thoughtfully provided complimentary souvenirs, wet wipes, and small hand lotions. However, I believe the staff needs better training on local transportation options. When I called to ask for directions to the hotel, I was simply told to take a taxi. Upon asking about public transport, the reply was 'locals don't use it, so we wouldn't know,' which was quite baffling and unhelpful. Aren't people visiting here for tourism? I hope they strengthen their training in this area. On a positive note, there's a Huadong Supermarket and Bus Line 3 conveniently located right downstairs.

I bought a game by mistake at ps5, and the landlord is also very generous and said it was fine. Every day, the room is cleaned by an aunt. 💡 [Small surprise for me by the homestay] The room has a faint fragrance, very advanced 📍 [For the convenience of the surroundings, I want to say] It is very convenient to go anywhere, 15 minutes to the airport, ten minutes to Mogao Grottoes, many supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants around 🛏 [Housing facilities I must mention] Mahjong machine, singing, ps5. The whole house is smart, I want to turn off the lights and call Xiao Ai directly haha

We stayed 2 nights. The hotel is very nice, clean, and centrally located. The staff was very friendly and helped us with all our requests. In particular the girl with the black glasses at the reception, whose name we don't remember, was wonderful. We like to say Thank you Again We highly recommend this hotel if you are in Dunhuang.

Checked in on New Year's Eve. Two wind towels were given as a gift when I checked in. I took a photo of it specially because it was my favorite color, hehe. Cleanliness: The room was surprisingly clean. No weird smell. Facilities: Free toiletries are provided. The bathroom is spacious. The eco-friendly slippers are comfortable, but you can’t take them away. Environment: Entering the hall, it is cozy, warm and the heating is very good. Service: The beauties in the lobby are enthusiastic and warm. To emphasize, heating is very good in winter. The bedding was clean and tidy. We stayed for two days and went out to the scenic spot on the second day. They cleaned and tidied the room without any request. It is convenient to eat. There is an authentic beef noodle restaurant opposite the hotel, a convenience store next door, and a large supermarket around the corner, which is open on New Year's Eve. A perfect trip to Dunhuang! Dunhuang of the world, where my heart longs for!

The online booking process via trip.com was very smoothly and quick. The contact with the hotel was very nice and the hardware of the hotel was just first class and I feel like at home although we spent only four nights there… The airport transfer with driver Mr. Wu was just marvelous. He is very nice and professional and I would like to recommend to all hotel guests to use this service!

The location is very good, right in the city center, by the Dang River. The room is large, Zen-style, and very comfortable. The room also comes with apricot peel tea and fruit. The package includes Dunhuang masks and neck covers, which is very good. Facilities: Although it is an old hotel, the facilities are very comprehensive. Sanitation: Very clean. Environment: The lobby and restaurant are very Western-style and very comfortable. Service: The airport pick-up service is very good, the driver is very enthusiastic, and the recommended restaurants are all great. The front desk service will help with luggage and check-in. Among them, Xiao Gao, Xiao Shi, and Xiao Jing are all very responsible and deserve praise.

Hotel is very nice. The location is close to the Shanzhou Night Market and it takes roughly 5-10 Minutes by walking there. In one of the side alleys are hidden gems, namely restaurants that do not appear on Google Maps or Apple Maps. I recommend to explore the surrounding area. Also the hotel is very clean in general, however my room has stains of previous travelers in the rug. I recommend to thoroughly clean it professionally. The staff were excellent and super friendly. Check In was very easy as foreigner and the overall service was very good.

Very good experience, hotel facilities are very good, breakfast is very good, but it is uncomfortable if you meet a group. Parking is very convenient, there are many parking spaces. It is more than 10 minutes walk from the night market. It is worth staying here.
