Absolutely fabulous food (1 x exmoor ale pie; 2 x chilli); best service possible and the ale - perfect!!!! (Otter and On the Level). Cannot recommend highly enough!!!! If this way again, wouldn’t hesitate. And a lovely pub in an absolutely gem of a village.

We visited here in November 24 for a 70th birthday and decided to have another weekend away in Dunster and enjoyed a couple of meals at the Stags Head. Again we cannot fault the pub, the staff are very welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much for them and the food was fantastic. It's a very cosy pub with a nice open fire, with a good choice of ales and drinks. We got to meet both the owner and Ringo the front of house manager and both are lovely people and very knowledgeable giving us great advice on their choice of spiced rum. We will definitely be back here again.

Walking Britain I passed many good pubs but never one so great. A brilliant traditional pub with the nicest, most inviting pub staff, ringo and Nigel. With possibly the best range of ales I've ever had. Well worth visiting even if you have to walk a very long way.

What a find! We popped in here on a Friday night for a couple of drinks and the staff and locals were so friendly and welcoming we decided to book for the Saturday night to have a meal to celebrate a 70th birthday. When we mentioned one of our party was gluten and milk intolerant the chef came out to advise what dishes could be cooked specially to accommodate our needs. This was very much appreciated. The owner was so helpful and professional advising on different drinks and when we came back in on the Saturday he had sprinkled happy birthday confetti on the table, such a lovely touch. The food was really tasty and cooked to perfection. This pub is a real gem. If you pop to the ladies loo they have some interesting signs that will make you smile.

Pub came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. We pre booked our table (gets busy so it was advisable). We were greeted by Ringo the pub manager who took extra care to make sure we were looked after. Good range of beers, the special Bearserker warranted a second sample!! The homemade food was exceptional. Can’t wait to visit again when we’re next in Dunster. Thanks to Nigel the owner and his team for a superb night. Oh, and they regularly host live music which is very popular.

An incredibly friendly local pub on the best street in Dunster. Despite the village being notorious for it's clickiness, this pub offers a great mix of clientele, a simple but excellent food menu and takeaway service plus some incredible entertainment nights with bands, quizzes etc. The new owners have brought this boozer back to life and I'd have no hesitation in coming back time and time again.

Ate here last night and it was fabulous. Its the little things that make a difference, go beyond - for example my baked cambert was served with celery, grapes as well as delicious toasted bread. And the cambert had a top seasoning that elevated it. The fish and chips was large, cooked perfectly and chips very tasty. Beers were beyond good, they spend a lot of time looking after them, and it shows in their tip top condition.

Staying in Dunster for a few days, we ate in The Stag's Head on the Friday eve. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Food was hearty and delicious. By far the best place we spent the evening over the three nights of our visit. We're just disappointed we found it on our last night before going home. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
