The overall performance of the hotel is a bit over the average level. The most satisfactory point of it is the location. It is very convenient for the guests to wander about the old castle area. They can go to the sightseeing attraction and to the tourist information centre easily. There are also different kinds of restaurants. So people have wider choices to choose their meals.

The central heating system was not working. They gave an electric stove instead. The male employee at the reception did not make an enlightening statement on this issue. They just give the room key at the entrance and send it off without mentioning the facilities.

The service is perfect. I had to travel there for exam and needed a late check out and the reception lady's, helped me with it . So ther check out time is 12 but my exam only finished at 2pm so they gave me a new key for me to pack . Thank you

Located along Royal Miles, walking distance to many tourist attractions. Wifi free connections and necessary amenities are provided.

Centrally located, within walking distance to most of the sight seeing spots in the city.

Amazing overall. Only thing that can better are: noise level within the corridors of the room floor. The room wall is so thin that you could hear all noises. The water pressure of the shower is pathetically low. I was given a room with a view (view to the roof that is, see photo) 😅. Anyway the whole location and friendly staff made up for what’s missing.

The hotel's location is fantastic, incredibly close to Old Town and historical landmarks. Everything is within walking distance, so there's no need for public transportation, which is a big plus. The cleanliness and amenities (like tea, coffee, and filtered water) were sufficient for a comfortable stay. We appreciated how quickly they addressed our note about cleaning, resolving the issue promptly. However, there's no on-site parking, which can add extra costs for those traveling by car. Even with the discount voucher they provide, parking in the area remains expensive, as is typical in city centers. A big thank you to the friendly and hospitable staff for their excellent service!

Check in was a breeze. Room was clean and made everyday during our stay. Breakfast was okay, but overlooking historic buildings. The location was very strategic in the center of the city...

That restaurant's music goes until 2 AM, and it's messing with my sleep.

Location was relatively good - easy to walk to all the major attractions. However with a luggage, we needed to take a longer route from the train station to the hotel because the shortest and easiest route had some stairs. Some amenities were given upon request. The second night, our room’s aircon couldn’t work, and the one of the lights burst, so we had to change rooms. And the next room given to us still had issues. And we had to change another room again - which, aircon and lights were fine now, but bathroom door couldn’t close. Walls are quite thin so you can hear people walking, talking and showering.

Centrally located place. Clean and great service. A bit cold room during the winter.

Location of the hotel was great. Close to old town of Edinburgh. Everything in a walking distance. Hotel room was a then worn out. Shower hose was leaking, toilet floor was soft and starting to break. Small cracks in the furniture and the floor. Toiled door had some moisture damage.  AC was working/not working and there was a high moisture in the room. Window (that should not be able to be opened) was open. Layout of the room was from the worst side. 1 chair to sit on and wardrobe as far from the door on the opposite side of the room. No hand towels, just shower towels available. Breakfast was basic. Elevator to the floor was fast that was good. 

It was soooo far from the train station (it was a difficult hike up especially with luggage) BUT the hotel was a nice stay. It had everything we need.

Great location to access all the main attractions by walking distance and next to the university and train station.
