Bambuu Lakeside Lodge

"Our stay was amazing! The location is beautiful and secluded, and the views are beautiful especially if you get a lakeside room. The hotel is small-scale so there won’t be any crowds. The staff really did their best to make us feel welcome and relaxed. They were very friendly! Rooms are spacious and modern but cosy. The only problem we had were the curtains in one of the rooms, they let all the light through so we woke up early with the sunrise. The other room had no such issue though. The pool is great for relaxing, as well as the restaurant. We had dinner and breakfast twice, the food is great and there’s plenty of choice for everyone. The only downside to the lodge is the location, in between Hazyview and Sabie. If you want to visit the Kruger Park, the closest gates (Numbi & Phabeni) are at least 35 km away. You’ll probably spend a lot of your day in the car if you’re driving through the park on your own, and it was a bit annoying for us to sleep so far away from the entrance. During our stay, the long road from Hazyview to the lodge was under construction, which meant we had to drive slowly and wait for other traffic to pass. Slight inconvenience but it didn’t take away from our stay, just something to keep in mind. The drive was worth it though, we had an amazing time. I’d recommend the Bambuu lodge to everyone!"

Also kids entertainment and show during the holidays. Friendly and efficient service. Close to the Kruger Park. Great views of the hippocampus and crocodiles from most chalets."

Chill Pepper Boutique Hotel

"The best decor for a hotel I have ever seen. It is quirky, and the room is very well laid out. The bathroom section was the best I have come across. I love the big windows and full blinds. There's a nice table and chairs to relax in. Room was clean and they were not shy with coffee and toiletry amenities. The staff are super friendly. I also love the little baggage wagons strategically placed on every floor. It was winter but I will be back to use the full length swimming pool in the summer!"

"We have stayed in Hazyview for 2 days (family of 3). Overall a nice stay, some minor room for improvement (pool bar was closed, we were given wrong directions to the pool, food was not excellent, but very good breakfast). Apart from that, good wine selection for an average price (for a lodge). Try the pinotage! But it is to be mentioned that management replied immediately on our concerns. This shows that clients' feedback is important, which is very positive!!!"
