This is a really nice hotel, newly renovated historical mansion, whose location is excellent within easy 15 minutes walking distance of all of central Evora. Dario and his staff welcomed us warmly and were very helpful in making our visit of Evora memorable. The rooms are well appointed, bright and clean. Beds very comfortable. Good breakfast. We highly recommend and would go back in an instant.

Right from the first we were enchanted by how well situated the hotel is. Right in the old town but off the beaten track with trees opposite it. The welcome was very warm and informative, all queries well answered. The room was large and bright with lots of shuttered windows and a terrace. The shower room was well appointed. The coffee facilities were excellent. The bed was one of the best I’ve ever slept in - and as a tour guide I’ve been in many, many hotel beds. The breakfast was the traditional buffet but very well presented with high quality food, down to the exquisitely correct ripeness of the fruit! The hotel is very new, having recently been completed after several years of renovation from a private house - or was it a palace?! Sympathetically rearranged there are still lots of lovely original features as well as some lovely modern twists. A great of thought has gone into it - even the chairs are amazingly comfortable, not just stylish. We didn’t have time to try the restaurant so I can’t comment. There is no lift - no surprise in such a place - but a helpful concierge carried up our bags.
