Leonardo Hotel Exeter
"Room was great - large and contemporary. Easy car parking opposite. We were woken up by other noisy guests which wasn’t great."
Hotel du Vin Exeter
"Fantastic hotel and a perfect stay 😊❤️"
Holiday Inn Express EXETER - CITY CENTRE by IHG
"Great location, super friendly staff/ receptionist and she really couldn't of been more helpful. 🙏🏻. But please be aware of a 24 / overnight parking is 50%discounted to £18. But still worth it in my opinion."
Exeter Rougemont hotel by Sunday
"Fantastic location, particularly when travelling by train. Christmas decorations enhanced the appearance"
City Gate
"Value for money indeed. Never expect such a spacious and well-refurbished room at such an amazing price. Would recommend it to anyone who visit Exeter since it’s located exactly at the city centre and within 10 or 15 minutes walk from both railway stations."
Exeter Court Hotel
"The hotel has very friendly staff. The room was clean. It wasn’t warm at the beginning but they fix it straight away once I contacted the reception. The breakfast is good as well. Will book again in the future."
Hotel Indigo EXETER by IHG
"We stayed in two King rooms with balconies as a family and overall the hotel has a lot going for it. The location is fantastic — right in the heart of Exeter, perfect for walking everywhere. The hotel itself looks great, especially the sky bar on the top floor. The views are excellent, the drinks are very good, and the service up there was genuinely friendly and attentive. We also grabbed some nibbles in the downstairs restaurant and both the food and service were solid. The rooms were clean, spacious, and the balconies were a nice touch. Everything felt modern and comfortable. The only real downside — and it’s a big one — is the front desk service. For a hotel at this price point (and especially as an IHG property), it really let the whole place down. The staff were slow, not particularly knowledgeable (and I hate to add, not the "quickest"), and quite short/rude at times. We were told when checking in that we’d get late checkout as IHG members, but when we returned later a different staff member had no idea what we were talking about and seemed confused about how to handle it. She eventually offered only one room until 12pm, which after a 3pm check-in really doesn’t feel like proper late checkout. We travel a lot and the front desk experience here was noticeably below standard. The rest of the hotel (rooms, bar, restaurant, location) is genuinely good, but the poor front-of-house service is what we’ll remember most. Would I stay again? Probably, because of the location and the rooms, but I really hope they sort out the front desk training and attitude."
Holiday Inn Express EXETER EAST by IHG
"Great hotel, exactly what I wanted. I was due to attend a conference just down the road and it was great. Breakfast was spot on."
Woodbury Park Hotel & Spa
"As usual with my frequent visit to this area I find Woodbury Park hotel has been my preferred place to stay. Staff are lovely kind and helpful. It’s a beautiful hotel satin a very picturesque location surrounded by pleasant scenery. Hotels and rooms are very clean and well attended to. Restaurant services are clean and impeccable. Credit goes to the chefs and the team who managed the service. I have had a pleasant breakfast service during my stay at Woodbury. I hope the staff and the team at Woodbury keep up the good work and encourage us to use them during my future trips to the area."

"What a gem this hotel is. Fantastic superior room which was super clean, light and airy and stocked with everything you could possibly need. Great breakfast. The greatest asset to this hotel is the staff. Everyone super helpful and friendly and go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one. We will definitely be back in the near future as we regularly come up to Exeter and have found a great new base. Thank you to everyone who made our stay memorable 😊"
White Hart, Exeter by Marston's Inns
"Great stay. Helpful staff"
Woodleigh Coach House
"We didn't stay overnight. We had just had a very long journey and was so looking forward to a cup of coffee with a late breakfast or early lunch. The cafe was OK, but very tired and dated looking. There wasn't a warm welcome on arrival. More like, just place your order and if you haven't got a table you will have to eat outside, along with a rather blank stare. Which I red as, if you don't like it - leave! The customers sitting down were really smiley towards us, as if to say they had just had the same treatment. What really tipped us over the edge was the state of the mens loos. Disgusting! No door on the cubicle and urinals were a disgrace. And this is by a business that is food orientated. You are charging enough for food, so not excuses please! We always leap to support local, but you need to step up your game. But then, I am sure you couldn't care less about our experience anyway! Won't be returning."
The Globe
"The location and friendly, helpful staff were excellent. The food quality was as good as the most expensive restaurants we have dined at. The price of the food was less than charged by many other restaurants. Well done The Globe,we will return."
The Grange Court B&B Hotel
Route 2 Apartments
"Kate and Joe at Route 2 Cafe and Apartments saved us when we were evacuated from our home in Exmouth for 2 nights this week (following the WW2 Bomb drama). They had one room available (Haldon) and were so accommodating with the last minute request. The room was absolutely spotless and so beautiful - it really did make what could have been a stressful situation, much calmer! Myself and my husband couldn't be more grateful, not to mention the fact I'm 7 months pregnant, baby bump appreciated a warm, comfortable night sleep. We spent 2 nights here and both had lovely breakfasts on Thursday and Friday before heading off to work. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!"
South View Lodges
"We've just returned from a long weekend staying in Cedar Lodge based at the South View Lodges. I cannot recommend this place enough, from the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we departed we felt like we were in heaven. We were welcomed with a bottle of bubbly and a roaring fire. The lodge was immaculate and very modern. Jill came in and welcomed us and answered all the questions we had. She recommended local places to eat and showed us how to use the hot tub and log burner. She invited us to come and visit their alapas too! The weather wasn't on our side thanks to Storm Bert but this didn't take away from our weekebd away, the covered sunken hot tub meant we could still enjoy it despite the awful rain and high winds! It was the perfect excuse to actually relax and enjoy the surroundings whilst in the comfort of the beautiful, warm, and cosy lodge. A small selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided, as well as toilet paper and cleaning products should you need them Highly recommend staying here and we wouldn't hesitate to go back! We also met Jill's husband Andrew who was equally lovely and welcoming. Thank you so much for a weekend we won't forget ❤️"
The Exeter Inn
"I have visited the attractive Exeter Inn near bampton many times over very many years. It has varied in standard from owner to owner. However, since the spring of 2025 it has been operated by Michelle and Martyn who very evidently know how to run an excellent establishment. Together they have hit the mark and immediately I walked in, following a friends recommendatin that great things had happened, I felt a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. Greeted cheerfully by this relaxed but most efficient couple and their friendly staff, I sensed enthusiasm and pride. It was sunday lunch and a proper fire roared away as happy guests chatted and laughed. A full range of roasts were offered and my chicken with all the trimmings was really delicious, hot and well presented, without any delay. You can just tell when you are enjoying a good eatery and the Exeter Inn is exactly that ! Living locally, I shall be a frequent customer and I suggest that you visit soon because you will not be disappointed ! Lovely pub, restaurant and Inn."
Southernhay House Hotel
"A really lovely hotel in a very convenient location close to the city centre. The room was very large with a large separate bathroom and shower. The service was excellent and the food delicious. Parking is found in a paid parking location nearby."
Mill on the Exe
"Truly excellent! The staff, accommodations, dining and setting were fantastic. All staff were warm, hospitable and professional, asking after every need. The room was very well done, extremely clean and well thought out. Such beautiful views of the river! I particularly enjoyed the dining experience – the chicken tikka masala was absolutely fantastic and the breakfast was just beautiful – with every single thing that I like. What a great experience!"
Townhouse Exeter
"Behind us is David's Church and a small area of tombstones. It was a bit scary to see them when we arrived at night, but I participated in church activities during the day, and understood the local culture. I also found the culture shock quite interesting. In the following days, I would walk through the cemetery to take a shortcut."
The Exeter Inn
"The food was fine and the service OK, but be aware that the menu and pricing are nothing like what’s on their website. We went in based on what we saw on the website, and the menu was much more limited than we expected (themed nights), and the food somewhat more expensive."
