We have been visiting this pub regularly for the past few years. The food is very good and value for money. Our most recent visit was not so good, the atmosphere was a bit spoilt with all the notices of rules and regulations that seem to be displayed on every bit of wall space. So much so that we didnt notice several saying plastic glasses only outside, we were the only two outside but we were made to pour our drinks into a cheap plastic cup. With the carvery being served at the end of an airport style queue, its starting to feel a bit like a cheap holiday camp and not somewhere to go to enjoy a meal and rellaxing drink.

We had the most amazing delicious Sunday carvery at The Royal Oak, Filey. Despite it being very busy , the staff were very attentive and helpful finding us a table and the chairs needed, clearing and cleaning away from the previous guests with great efficiency. The food was fresh, well cooked and there was a great choice of vegetables. The gravy boats for the wonderful gravy was an absolute winner.

We had a big family get together and Pam was amazing at sorting everything out so it all ran smoothly. The food was hearty - everyone loved it! We would recommend it to anyone that wants a nice family friendly environment with a great service ☺️

Very accommodating when coming here for a large family get together during a busy half term. Took a big order, all food came out hot at the same time and the portions and quality are both fantastic. Friendly, helpful staff so would definitely recommend.

The Royal Oak is a brilliant place to stay, the rooms were clean and tidy and very comfortable beds too. The pub has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is out of this world, both the Royal Oak burger and the Sunday carvery I had was incredible. We couldn’t have asked for more from the Royal Oak, we will definitely be coming back.

After reading all the excellent reviews about this pub we decided to drop in here this afternoon for our lunch. On first entering, we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes by the staff. There was a good selection of drinks and the menu gave us plenty of options to choose from. I opted for the homemade lasagne which came with a generous salad and garlic bread and my partner decided on the beef chilli with half and half chips and rice. Both meals were delicious but I have to say my lasagne was the best I've ever eaten. Portion sizes were plentiful so much so, our initial decision to try their apple crumble had to be shelved for another day as we were too full once we had finished our main course. A great excuse for us returning again next month when we are back in the region. Definitely worth a visit, great atmosphere, excellent food, reasonable prices and lovely service. Highly recommended.

Recommended by family member to all meet up for New Years Day, 14 of us and it was fantabulous. The service first class, the choice of menu was excellent, we all had different dishes and no complaints. I and brother had chipolata sausage with cranberry to start & the best fish & chips ever, so fresh, very tasty & large portions. Attentive staff even though busy, lovely setting, will definitely return. Impressed.

Just had the nicest meal of our holiday here. Rang ahead to ask about allergens because our daughter is allergic to milk and egg, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. The adult meals were so tasty and beautifully cooked. Reasonably priced plus have inside and outside kids play areas. Perfect for kids. We will definitely come back. Would highly recommend.

We spent a week at Reighton Sands and after reading several excellent reviews of this family run pub we decided to go for a meal and drinks. Upon arrival we found out it was shut, we rang the ring doorbell to enquire about food and drinks, but no one answered i even looked through the main window to find what looked like an abandoned empty pub. a few hours later on our way back we called again and same situation no one home. This was on a Tuesday evening we even rang the pub left messages but no one answered. So good luck in gaining entry to this ghost pub
