The hotel looks much better than the pictures, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff is friendly and ready to help you with all your questions. The snorkelling around the island is great as well, but you have to rent out all the needed gear at extra price. You can also go on nice hikes, the view is spectacular! The island only has two restaurants, and one shop which closes at 4:30pm and the prices are higher than on the land. We recommend bringing your own snacks and water if you don’t drink from the tap. The breakfast is served at only one place for $35 per person for the buffet. There was not much to choose from, there was only one type of cheese and only pork available. The lunch is only served at Foxy’s, which is a second restaurant, it has a limited menu but it is a good place with big portions and good price. For dinner there are two options, either at Foxy’s, same menu as lunch, or at the restaurant where the breakfast was served. There you can choose two ($68) or three ($79) course menu, the choices are good, food is great as well, but the portions are on a smaller side. Overall the experience at this hotel was great, would definitely come back with the rest of the family but will bring our own snacks, water and fizzy drinks.

The location and environment of the hotel are good. It was fun to hike on the island. I saw the storm from a high place. I learned a lot at the turtle rescue center, and the glass-bottomed boat was also good. I especially like the large ceiling fan in the room, which has a very good dehumidification effect. The hotel staff is very friendly and responds to emails in a timely manner. Maybe due to insufficient staff or high labor costs, the hotel room is cleaned once every 3 days, and you need to tidy up the room yourself in the middle. It should be noted that the last boat to the hotel is at 1:30 pm. If the plane arrives late, you need to stay in Cairns for one night and take the boat the next day. I didn't pay attention to this when booking the flight and hotel, which resulted in wasting the hotel on the first day, and I booked a hotel in Cairns for one night. The advantage is that you can check in on the island early the next morning, without having to wait until 3 pm to check in.

My room was pretty clean. Well located in a quiet area and the bathroom was nice. Small products to wash yourself very well. The only downside was that my bath towel had a hole in it but it's not that bad, it's just a shame for a "luxury" hotel because throwing away a towel and buying a new one doesn't cost anything compared to the price of the room. I was pleasantly surprised because given all the negative comments I was very apprehensive but everything went well. The room was good, the resort restaurant is really excellent and I find that the price is acceptable because it's very very good thank you to the chef, plus the waitresses are really lovely. The staff is nice. On the other hand, I encountered a problem before coming to the island, I had booked two nights at the Fitzroy hotel except that I couldn't access the island the first night because I landed in Cairns at 2 p.m. and there are no more ferries from 1:30 p.m. I tried to contact the hotel customer service several times but they refused to refund me or find me another way to get to the island. So 0 customer service but nice hotel and tour staff.
