"Lovely older hotel with character. Our room suited us nicely, great bar and seating area, inside and out. Breakfast was delicious. My husband uses a small mobility scoot and the hotel is very accessible. The parking situation worried me initially but turned out to be easy. Best of all is the location. The pool looked great too."

"Really unique heritage hotel. Comfortable large room and excellent Gimlet bar with bespoke gin cocktails. Bartender made me a drink even though bar already closed for the day. Luxurious apelles bath products available for purchase below retail price. You get a lot of bang for your buck with free minibar (w beer and wine), welcome cocktails at Gimlet and a mini but high quality brekkie."

"Fantastic seaview! Room was equipped with microwave, cutleries which we could prepare breakfast and dinner. Room was clean and spacious. 10 min drive to B shed ferry terminal to Rottnest Island and there was 10% discount at nearby eateries such as Twinfin fish and chips and Ciecerello Fremantle Seafood restaurant. Thumbs up!"

"Very excited about this speciality stay as it was stated the old prison facilities and had to try this experience. Was hesitant to share room with others so we took the entire unit by ourselves. The facade and surrounding like common area is nice and feels warmth. The single unit is using the cell units while the unit that we took is a newly erected wing so it's not the prison wing thus don't feel like prison but otherwise the outside and everything gives the prison vibes. Definitely recommended and must give this place a try at least once!"

"Absolutely delightful hotel , even though rooms are a little smaller than most , everything was designed practically to ensure a comfortable stay . The room had all the necessities it needed including a nespresso coffee machine which makes it more inviting , along with free bottled water . Check in was a breeze even though we got there early the lovely young lady in reception took the bags to the room and was ready after we explored the area and arrived back closer to 2pm check in , The wine & cheese hour next door was a lovely experience yet again welcoming team ,cosy with a fire pit burning taking the chill off . 1 drink of choice & cheese then pay for anymore drinks which is fair .Breakfast even though simple as described locally sourced bread & a selection of toppings , accompanied by homemade muesli with greek yoghurt . It was just a light start but relaxed to enjoy and watch the world go by in a nice area with some history spread around . I would definitely stay again , well worth the price hassle free nothing was an issue . Bonus even though I didn't use free bike hire along with basic gym equipment if you felt the need to work out . Big thank you for such a great experience."

"I had a fantastic stay at this hotel and would not hesitate to book here again. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. Two things that really stood out were the heater and air conditioning—they both worked perfectly and were easy to control, which made for a very comfortable stay no matter the weather. The water pressure in the shower was excellent—a small thing that makes a big difference! The location is a major plus. It's situated in a great area within easy walking distance of many fantastic cafes and restaurants. While I didn't have a chance to use them myself, I also noticed they offer guest laundry facilities and bicycles available for use, which are great amenities to have available. Overall, a wonderful, hassle-free experience. Great value for the quality and location"

"What a lovely hotel in a great location! The hotel has a colourful history, giving it its own character. The room is nicely decorated and I love the bathtub. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to experience Fremantle"

"Using Google map, we found the hotel easily. If there is an option for 4.5 star, I would have given that to Service as I find it weird for the need to obtain milk from the reception. None of the lodging we stayed required this. We always had milk in the fridge. It's facilities got a 4 star instead of a 5. The parking lot was full when we returned after dinner and had to park our car near the fencing of the hotel, which did not appear to be a parking lot."
