"Booked 2 rooms 2 nights for a family of four. Kinda disappointing with the service quality provided by the hotel esplanade. Totally unimpressed at all. Take a midnight flight and reached Perth at 5-6am. Drive to esplanade hotel ard 9-10am. Though understand that we have arrived very much early but thought that the hotel can assist in at least provide one of the rooms to freshen up. Waited 5hrs until 1350hrs before 1 room can be provided reluctantly. However I do saw reception give early access to many others who came later. Wonder if it it because I am an Asian and race card is being played to perfection to adhere to the standard timing. The swimming pool and gym were not maintained at all. And worse is the ant issues. I have left an empty orange juice glass on the table and I came back, it was filled with 50-60ants. Guess the pests control was not well managed here. Think the only saving grace is the proximity to Fremantle market, town area, and the terminal to go Rottness island. May need to rethink and strategize to continue to become one of the better hotels in Fremantle and not solely just replying on past reputation."

"Hi , YHA Fremantle Prison, Wow! What an amazing experience and im so glad i stayed here, and thankyou so much for being so accommadting and understanding , and well for letting me book with late notice and guided me to after hours checkin, and well the guy who was working after hours on the 31st May Sunday night,...... 💯👌🙏❤️ so welcoming and was down to earth, and made me feel good about the whole.stay and just a very calming presence and over the phone also , very understanding and reassured me to not stress and be safe and to get here when i get here. He was thankful i got there at reasonable hour, cosidering it was after 9pm , was travelling from the city and through the storm so it was 10.30pm maybe a little after 10.45pm,...... and so he was very grateful but very good about me being a late check in , as i rang to make sure i was able to stay without a passport. I.was very happy to find that i could book without passport 🙏🥹💯❤️👌 I had the best night sleep, the best shower before bed, the facilities were amazing and the whole experience was beyond my expectations and exceeded all my thoughts of what was to be. I cant thank you guys enough! I will be back! Im staying longer next time so i can explore the Fremantle Prison as i have wanted to now for many.of years and the canal tour also ive wanted.to always do. The grounds, the care , the information on history , on every wall, evey building, everything was to standard and presentation that was 11/10 👌💯 brillant! I am and was well impressed! And cant wait to stay again and with a little more pre planning and booking earlier on and having a bit more a plan next trip. As my stay at YHA was very last minute , and because i missed my TransWA bus back to Kojonup.....😏 And well my decision to go up to Perth was very last minute and decision made only 2 days prior to going , and so as it was last minute decision and well i had an idea of a plan of where and who to see while up there, as being last minute things always dont go to plan and so when those moments happened i just rolled with the punches and went with the flow of things, and trusted my gut instinct and trusted my journey and the journey in life i am and well was on while in Perth and so all roads had led me to where i was meant to be , and well all fell into plaxe and worked out in the end and so im grateful beyond words! Truely and honestly 🥹🙏❤️💯😊 Thanks again , and wow amazing stay! And highly recommend! Thankyou so much for the feeling of saftey also being a single female traveller on her own. "It's a simple single room with only a fan in the room. Fortunately, the fan is enough in this season. The bathroom is shared. There is also a welcome wine card when you check in. It's a good experience for a short night."

"⭐️ 1-Star Review Very disappointing and misleading experience. This hotel intentionally misleads guests with hidden terms and unclear policies. When I checked in, the front desk never mentioned any “terms and conditions” about cleaning dishes or taking out rubbish before check-out. There were no in-room guidelines, no signage, and no written notice anywhere about this rule. After I checked out, the hotel suddenly tried to deduct extra cleaning fees, even though I had already paid a cleaning fee through the booking platform. This is completely unreasonable and feels like a trick to mislead customers. The sofa was dusty, the floor had visible dust and sand, and toiletries were never replenished during my stay. I even covered the sofa with a bedsheet because it wasn’t clean enough to sit on. It’s disappointing that instead of improving cleanliness, the hotel blames guests for “extra cleaning.” If you value transparency and fair service, be very careful when booking this place"

"This is simply a wonderful location for a Fremantle stay. The managers could not have done more to accommodate us (and our extra needs). The breakfast bar is a delightful way to start the day in the foyer dining/lounge area which is also a great spot for quiet time at any time of the day. This hotel is well designed and we appreciated the quality bathroom products. Can’t recommend it highly enough - it was delightful and right amongst all-things Fremantle…"

"After staying here since October 2024, I can honestly that this little hostel is a hidden gem of a place to stay. It’s a brilliant hostel to make friends in, their open plan space makes it really easy to get involved with people. The vibes are chilled during the day, with multiple things to do - being in the centre of Fremantle you are a 5 minute walk away from Bathers Beach, which on its day is a glorious sun trap with a pub right next to it. You’re also in walking distance of some great local brewery’s such as Gage Roads and Little Creatures. Next, the train station and bus station are also a 5 minute walk away giving you fantastic access all over Perth. Overall, it feels like home away from home."

"The train station and the Rottnest ferry terminal are very close. The ferry terminal was a five-minute walk away. Market Street is also close by, and there's a Coles and 7-Eleven nearby, which was convenient, and there were plenty of places to eat. It's also a bit far from the main street, so it's quiet, which was nice. The staff were mostly friendly, but some were a bit blunt. Overall, don't expect hotel-like service. The shower was a sunflower-style showerhead that only came from the ceiling, which was quite inconvenient. Still, the hotel had plenty of amenities, so I was able to have a quick breakfast, the room was clean, and they even let me store my luggage. Overall, it was very good."

"You wouldn’t know it was here if you didn’t have instructions to find it. In a nice location on Henry/High St the room as a good size and very clean. I checked in with a key box and checked out with a key drop which worked perfectly, but I never saw anyone in the reception area during the whole stay."
