This is a charming, individualistic, clean and efficient hotel. Perfectly located for accessing Funchal Old town and all it has to offer. The staff are friendly and helpful, the views from the delightful roof terrace are spectacular. Breakfast in the Green Room or just outside, offers a variety of choices to suit all tastes and the famous custard tarts are simply delicious! My only (tiny) gripes are, that the generously-sized pillows were not as comfortable for a smaller person. Also, the glass wall in the bathroom took a bit of getting used to. Not for the shy! That said we very much enjoyed our stay.

The location and staff hospitality are incredible. The rooftop bar was beautiful! Don’t stay in a room without a window though. It was very humid and the bathroom/shower was only separated by a glass partition. I would definitely stay here again, but I’ll request a different room.

Fatima and Precela were fantastic and helpful. The service was 5 stars. The room was very clean. There was a small kitchen in the room that was very handing to prepare a simple meal. The shower was powerful and fantastic. The location was in the middle of old town of Funchal.

The location is perfect, the lobby is a very nice place to sit in with a coffee or cocktail. The roof terrace provides a great view out to sea and a complimentary welcome drink up there was great. The breakfast was good and there was a lot of variety. The restaurant is next door - the food was excellent - lots of choice. The staff at the reception and in the restaurant were all really friendly and helpful. We were disappointed with our standard room but as were were only there for 3 nights we didn't see any need to complain. We only had a window into what they call an internal courtyard, it wasn't, and maybe we should have looked more closely at the room allocation and paid to upgrade. You have to book to use the swimming pool and it costs ten euro per hour. Its not a particularly big pool and we wouldn't want it for an hour so we gave that a miss.

The hotel is well situated (of course that makes it a little noisy). Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is fine for one week but lacks variety for a2 week stay. Fantastic terrace for evening drink. Cleaning generally good but floor cleaning could improve.
