We stayed in the hotel with group of friends. The experience was really nice — rooms are clean and design are interesting and cozy. You will have breakfast in the other hotel next door and it’s delicious. Also you can use territory of other hotel — there are really nice lounge zone, pool and sea-view. We enjoyed.
Only one thing was disturbing — if you want to sleep with open windows it can be really noisy. Because of the buses (going from early morning) and loud people (who were singing and screaming drunk). But if you close the window everything is perfect.

Very hard beds, bad ac and a very small kitchenette. No waterbottle in the room. A small balcony noisy from traffic. Wifi was unreliable. Cleaning also bad, had to go get toiletpaper and ask them to empty the dustbin. The sheets were not properly stretched under the top cover. Firealarm went on for a good half hour with no reason, everybody went out and waited for maintenance to shut it off. Breakfast price was pointed out on arrival but when we wanted to order the price had gone up. Reception were not very friendly, no smiling hellos but stone faces. Where do the four stars come from?

Had a good two nights stay in the Pestana ****** Studios as part of a group walking trip. Rooms were ok, but a bit tired and on a cross road of two roads so there was quite a lot of road noise. There was a small outdoor pool and loungers, but you also got access to the large ****** hotel opposite which has an amazing pool and indoor area with pool, sauna, steam rooms, jacuzzi etc, so we didnt use the pool at the studios. The breakfast is also across the road at the ****** hotel which is really good, but can get very busy later on. Helpful friendly reception and can store luggage is needed.

We stayed two nights. Felt more like a capsule hotel than a 4-star hotel. Main access is via an external stairs/lift. Our room was immediately off the landing so close to the main road. Even with the windows closed, bus noise was annoying. My partner found herself trapped in the bathroom as the sliding door was trapped. This was fixed promptly. A walk to the main hotel for all facilities.

Do not waste your money staying at this hotel, it is not 5 star in any way. Rooms are tired and mould in the bathrooms. Needs a complete refurbishment, carpets hanging on the wall!!!!! When you ask for anything you are fobbed off, nobody wants to help you, although the staff were very nice and polite. Food not as good as last time we stayed here, standards have defiantly dropped. First room were we allocated overlooked the garden, thought this was lovely until we went back on the first night only to find a very loud thumping disco going on at the ****** until 4am in the morning, didn't get a bit of sleep, we were moved the next day. Did complain to Jet 2 who we had booked with, but they were not very helpful at all.

last minute winter break booked day before flight so choose ****** studios as this second visit so know its perfect for us . always pay extra for sea view as this more tranquil as like to sleep with balcony doors open so no road noise plus like watching cruise ships leave, neighbouring hotel steam, sauna ,pool ,gym perfect every morning as free and had the place to ourselves between 8.30 and 10 as other hotel guest at breakfast . we only used hotel cooking facility's hob for coffee and kettle for tea . good takeaway place 5 mins away at o nosso cantinha for €9 lunch deal soup, main ,drink takeaway enough for 2 . this perfect to walk into funchal and booked Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias twice for live music amazing and only £11 each and only 12 minute walk so perfect night . every receptionist was lovely and helpful and cleaning very good .
