Madeira Turim Santa Maria Hotel ★★★★
"Wonderful hotel, close walk to Funchal Centre and old town. Superb on cleanliness and really comfortable beds. Great little extras like free bottled water, the staff are so friendly and helpful, the people at desk always greet you warmly on entering and are so helpful. This is really a great find, I would highly recommend!"
Vila Baleira Residence ★★★★
"Everything was very clean, the hotel staff was very friendly, and the rooms were well-furnished. Breakfast was okay and was served at your table. The location in the city is excellent. We would gladly return."
Pestana CR7 Funchal, Lifestyle Hotels ★★★★
"The hotel in Ronaldo's hometown, in order to check in before leaving Portugal, I bought a round-trip low-cost flight, which was not cheap. There was an airport bus when I landed, which was quite convenient. The hotel is barely four stars, with accurate self-positioning. If there is no sentimentality, it can even be considered average"
Hotel Windsor ★★★★
"In an excellent location: right in the center of Funchal and with parking. Large rooms and bathrooms. Good breakfast and dinner: starter, main course (Atlantic fish or meat) and dessert/local fruit. Very friendly staff, who recommend excursions. To be renovated in some parts but overall good!"
Zarco Suites by Sé Funchal ★★★
"Not recommended at all and very expensive"
Quinta Da Penha de Franca ★★★★
"A pleasant hotel. It felt like a dacha. Clean, cozy, and the staff was very helpful. Close to the center and the port. We walked from the ship, but half the way was uphill."
The Editory Ocean Way Funchal ★★★★★
"Seaview hotel and big rooms. A lot of restaurants and a shopping mall close by."
Muthu Raga Madeira Hotel ★★★★
"Great location, Nice staff, all good"
Hotel Madeira ★★★
"The hotel was very clean, well maintained, and the breakfast was very good considering it was included for free. Overall, I thought it was excellent value for money given the central location on Funchal."

Three House Hotel
Golden Residence Hotel
"My stay at this hotel was truly exceptional. The lady at reception was very helpful, easy to talk to, and explained everything clearly from the moment I arrived. The room was amazing, with a beautiful view that made the experience even more special. All the staff were excellent and friendly. The two girls working at the bar in the afternoon were wonderful — unfortunately I forgot their names, but one of them was Venezuelan. They were both very welcoming and professional. The breakfast team was always respectful and ready to help. One lovely lady was so thoughtful that she prepared my outdoor table setup in the morning before I had even picked my food. The gentleman who seemed to be the manager handled the staff and operations very smoothly — you could really feel how organized and professional everything was. I also noticed the lady who I believe is the GM. She looked incredibly hardworking, present during the afternoon, evening, and morning, always supporting her team. I even saw her celebrating staff birthdays with them. This is exactly how true leadership should be. Anyone looking for real hospitality should visit this hotel. As a Hospitality GM myself, I can confidently say this is an approved place to enjoy a wonderful experience with your loved ones. Thank you to the entire team for such a memorable stay.Keep it up"

"Very nice hotel with direct access to the ocean. Spacious room, very wide bed, balcony, varied breakfast."
Barceló Funchal Oldtown
"We had a wonderful stay in Funchal at this very well-located hotel, right in the heart of the city. The location is ideal: close to attractions, restaurants, and public transport, which made getting around so much easier. From the moment we arrived, we received a truly warm welcome. The reception staff were professional, attentive, and always available to answer our questions. This made our arrival very reassuring. Breakfast was one of our favorite parts of the day. There was a wide selection: pastries, fruit, cereals, hot dishes... And I must mention one thing: the person who prepared the eggs in the morning was absolutely lovely."
Reid's Palace, A Belmond Hotel, Madeira
"All aspects are very good. The facilities are also very good. The location is also very good, the service is also very good, the breakfast is also rich, the scenery is also very good, the decoration is very retro"
Melia Madeira Mare
"Hehe, it seems that we were upgraded to a room type, which is very nice. The scenery is great. There are restaurants and supermarkets just up the hill from the hotel. It's just a little far from the city center. The bus station is right in front of the hotel. Don't have too much hope for breakfast, it's all white rice. I wanted to eat soup but there was none. The bath products are okay, at least they have a brand."
Pestana Casino Park, Premium Ocean & Spa Hotel
"The reception is super nice and helpful. Room is too old and the bed is not comfortable. The view is nice but I don’t like the breakfast. The service people at breakfast area is rude, and breads & foods are not 5 star hotel level"
The Views Baia - Adults Only
Castanheiro Boutique Hotel
"The hotel is in a great location and has its own parking lot. We were greeted very warmly with a welcome drink. The breakfast was also excellent and very plentiful – the fruit selection was particularly fantastic. We were less impressed with our room. We had specifically booked a room with a balcony but were given a room on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the passageway, which was very odd – nobody ever sat on that balcony... The shower water changed uncontrollably from cold to extremely hot, so we burned ourselves. On the first day, we were woken up before 9 a.m. because the staff wanted to clean the room, which was annoying. On the second day, however, the room still hadn't been cleaned at 2 p.m., even though we had been out all morning. At breakfast, our ordered eggs got lost in the shuffle – we waited over 20 minutes for two three-minute eggs. When we ordered them again after 20 minutes, thinking our order had been forgotten, they nonchalantly asked us if we really wanted four eggs. After we explained that we had been waiting for ages, there was no apology or anything else, which we found quite inappropriate. All in all, we probably wouldn't book this hotel again, as there were too many negative aspects and experiences for the rather high price."
Quinta do Monte
"A lovely traditional hotel - clean spacious rooms with balcony, friendly efficient staff, excellent breakfast and a beautiful setting."
Tui Blue Gardens - Adults-Only - Savoy Signature
"I thank everyone at the Savoy Palace Hotel for the warm welcome; we loved our stay, it was very pleasant. We had a cake for my birthday and champagne, thank you so much, we had an amazing time. The hotel is very beautiful, clean, and the view is incredible! I will return."
Dorisol Estrelicia Hotel
"Good localisation, food very tasty for the luch and a lot of acomodities nearby the hotel, the center of funchal is a bit far by feet."

The Cliff Bay - PortoBay
"The location and views were amazing. The staff was friendly everywhere except the reception. No greeting, no smile. That alone ruined the experience of staying at this hotel. But I think it's a coincidence."
Quintinha São João Hotel & Spa
"This hotel was the perfect place for us to have some much needed R&R for 5 days. The Staff are so helpful and pleasant, the food is well presented and delicious in the restaurant. Breakfast has an excellent selection. It is about a 15 minute walk to the seafront and shops. It is downhill going but uphill on the return, which in the heat of the day can be hard work. There are plenty of taxis and tuk-tuks about to help get you from a to b if necessary. The Spa was easily accessible and had a nice selection of treatments. Beautiful rooms, very spacious and each has a balcony with table and chairs. A bottle of still and sparkling water is provided in the fridge, which is refilled FOC when empty. Large bathroom with all toiletries and towels Highly recommended"
