I loved the garden and the lovely people who served in the hotel. Everything is clean and with good function. I also think the breakfast is very good and the staff is very helpfull. There are four good restaurant for your choose for the evening meal.

Stayed here for a week with my friend in the studio apartment - lots of space with living room and small kitchen that had all the appliances you would need. Included breakfast at the hotel which had lots of variety and was well stocked even during busy times, queuing at times near the end of breakfast time but staff handled it really well and queue moved quickly. Hotel was very clean and up to date in decor - credit to garden staff as the gardens are beautiful! I would go again and recommend to others!!

Excellent accommodation and fabulous gardens. We booked a studio room but were upgraded to a spacious apartment, with balcony and sea view. Shame that the weather was not warm enough to sit outside for much of the time. The need to use 200 characters will deter me from bothering to write any more reviews.

The hotel and gardens are without equal. Super and friendly hotel staff. Love the indoor outdoor pool. The hotel and Madeira make this such a relaxing holiday. Can't recommend in high enough. Well done to everyone for making our holiday so special. Thank you.

Our stay at The residence was really nice. The pool areas, restaurants, bars, entertainment, the spacious room and the location of the hotel were all perfect.

We are regular visitors to the Vila Portomare Hotel and stay in The Residence. The location is convenient for walks, buses, restaurants and the seafront. The site is very clean and well cared for, with beautiful gardens, indoor lounges and amenities. The staff are friendly and helpful and the reception staff do their best to help you get the most from your stay, on and offsite.
