We have stayed at this hotel before on bed and breakfast and enjoyed very much. But this time we stayed on all inclusive as it was such excellent value. We didn’t quite know what to expect as we are not really fans of all inclusive but as it was so reasonable we were prepared to eat out if necessary. The breakfast was excellent. We didn’t always bother with lunch but on occasions we did have freshly made omelettes around the pool which were lovely. The food at night was very good with a good variety to choose from. Loads of fish which was delicious and lots of fresh vegetables and a good salad bar. There was a choice of desserts but I always took advantage of the cheese and biscuits which was lovely. The staff were very polite and attentive. My only comment about the restaurant was that there were a number of large groups of guests on organised trips there on reserved tables. Which was fair enough so they could make sure they were all together but it be quite noisy at times so we did eat out on a couple of occasions The rooms were very clean and the pool area was well cleaned every day. The staff in all areas of the hotel were very polite

Nice clean hotel, very friendly and attentive staff Food was basic but good. Only reason I have to give this hotel only 2 Stars was because the interior walls are absolutely paper thin! Having to listen to our neighbours having a pee 06:30 every morning was disgusting! You have been warned. Sorry Girassol but I can’t see how you will be able to fix this problem.

First time in Madeira, not a great experience. Rooms were comfortable and clean, maid service was good. Some areas of the hotel are a bit dated. The food was not so good, very limited choice and quality not great. A few restaurants round about. Some entertainment. I’m afraid I wouldn’t go back, the area is not suitable for disabled people lots of hills.

This was a last minute booking so thought it would be cheap and cheerful...it is a great little hotel. Very clean and comfortable and much more intimate. Smaller selection of food than at a bigger hotel but the quality was great. Staff were excellent. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Great location, easy walk into town and local bus back. A little dated but it was perfect for a last minute getaway.

A decent four star hotel (official rating). Rooms were good with a lounge area separate from the bedroom with fridge, kettle with tea/coffee and milk. Whilst there is a tv in the room we never switched it on. The main road (Estrada Monumental) runs in front of the hotel but we were never aware of any traffic noise either in our bedroom or in the public areas. Food in the restaurant was good and we could always find something to eat that we liked. The restaurant was busy in the evening but we never had a problem getting a table. Service in the bars was quick and efficient and all staff we encountered were friendly and approachable. As with most places in Madeira you're never far from a hill. For someone with reasonable mobility it's a fairly easy walk down into town and the marina area, although we did get the local bus back for 1.95 Euros pp. . Nos. 1, 2 or 4 stop very close to the hotel. Internally the hotel does look a little dated but given they went nearly two years with little or no income I can undertand why. All in all we enjoyed our holiday at the Girassol

THIS HOTEL WAS SOLD AS 4* WHICH IT IS NOT , Definitely 3* , Hotel is situated next to a very busy noisy main road and is a good walk downhill to a lovely rocky beach, no sand anywhere. Rooms are basic TV is ancient no Bluetooth or usb, No decent shops nearby taxi or bus into town,food and drinks ok but restaurant very busy.

As this hotel was a suited hotel it meant that we had a sitting room that we could chill out in after a day on the road before bed. It also had a TV that we could watch some films etc. There was a car Park for your hire car if you had one too. It was just Bed & Breakfast.and if you wanted dinner that was available too at your own expense with plenty of choice of food.
