Great stay! Family of 4, two teen boys. House is efficiently designed. Nice access to north part of the lake. We got a lot of boating time in. Owner was super responsive to a few minor requests. Would stay here again.

Misleading Listing and Unsafe Conditions – Disappointing Stay We booked this home weeks in advance while I was traveling for work, hoping to give my family a comfortable stay. After an 11-hour drive from Florida, we arrived around 9 p.m. and were immediately hit with a strong mildew odor. The house looked and smelled unclean—hair on the beds, dust in multiple areas, dirty bathrooms, and a filthy fridge (even hair in the freezer). The sheets were stained, and it was clear the home hadn’t been properly maintained. The next morning, we saw more signs of neglect: mildew on the patio, broken outdoor furniture, and a hazardous deck with exposed nails and rotting wood—unsafe for my son to fish from, which was one of our main reasons for booking. The home only had seating for four people, far from what was advertised. I contacted the owner right away. He acknowledged the issues and offered a partial refund of the cleaning fee and agreed to refund the unused nights if we left the next day. We cleaned up and left as agreed, but then he reversed course and charged us for the full stay. This was extremely disappointing and dishonest. We spent hours trying to resolve the matter with VRBO. The listing did not match reality, and our experience was far from the relaxing trip we had planned.

Murrayville lake house Everything was very nice in terms of location and room in the house along with fire pit and a Kayak to cruse down the river. The only issues were not having any tolet paper upon arrival and having to hand wash the dishes before using necause they had previously been washed with laundry soap

Weekend getaway Our only complaint would be the furniture in living room. Very old and uncomfortable. Everything else was great.

Photos of property very deceiving Property needed good cleaning inside, grass mowed and weeds removed, boat trailer blocked one parking spot and boat at the dock was in major disrepair. Could not put pontoon boat at dock due to other boat blocking dock. Left one day early because of these conditions. Pictures available.

Getaway on the lake We enjoyed this cozy home for our family to escape. Our older kids/adults enjoyed the lake access for fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding. The house was clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable.

Lovely rural setting for peace and quiet We were pleased overall with the house and felt warm and safe. So many people have commented on the limited seating in the living area, but no one has mentioned that the seating isn't very comfortable for older people. Unless you sit on a kitchen chair, you may have a hard time getting comfortable or even getting out of the one chair. The small couch is also not easy to sit in unless you are young and flexible. How nice it would be to have an upholstered chair with a straight back and maybe an ottoman so you could sit by the fire and relax. Most of the amenities are as described. Many coffee drinkers prefer mugs and there was only one. The dishes were either large plates or saucers. We did see some Chinese plates, but it would be great just to have some normal Ikea salad plates and mugs. A real blender would be nice. The 2 immersion blenders are okay, but wouldn't handle frozen ingredients very well for smoothies. Nice washer and dryer, but a bit loud for the occupants of the downstairs rooms. Toilet paper is pretty awful and thin, so bring your own. Also bring bar soap or body wash and a few extra wash cloths. The deer and the ambience are the best features!
