New Cottage

The place is incredible! We stayed only for one night and I regret it. It’s charming, comfortable and very well located. The owner is the nicest man on earth. I felt like home. The very generous and delicious breakfast. Just font miss this place!

The amazing historic house immaculately decorated and maintained. Comfortable room with excellent beds and tasty home made breakfast served in a stunning view room by the most friendly hosts. Well positioned within the walking distance to town and amazing views of the Seine and Le Havre. Hope to visit again!

When you combine a beautiful house with stunning grounds, then add the most delightful host and his lovely wife and daughter, the result is New Cottage! We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts with ingredients sourced locally and slept in the peace of a tranquil environment, the ideal walking distance from Honfleur town.

Returning to a “favorite place” is one of those pleasant reminders of why we occasionally travel to the same place again and again. Finding a new favorite place, however, reminds us of why we travel. We have been to Honfleur before, but only for the day. Honfleur is relatively small, but beautiful and friendly, and has more than enough to keep you interested for more than a day. We decided to spend more time in Honfleur and that is how we found New Cottage. The innkeepers at New Cottage are great. They are the type of innkeepers who know they may never see you again, but they treat you like you are returning next week. The accommodations were spacious, have great views towards the sea and gardens, and were perfect for several days. New Cottage is very close to the center of the village and is a brief drive, should you decide not to walk. Our hosts prepared and served a great breakfast, took a genuine interest in our day, and made sure our dinner plans were made early. They obtained a reservation for us at Auberge de la Source, which was a 15 minute drive from New Cottage. Go there. It is in the middle of nowhere. The food was excellent, the wine list was very nice, and we were served by a very professional staff. What else could you ask for in the middle of nowhere? We also went to L’Escale in Honfleur. The seafood was amazing, the wine list was very good, and the staff was very friendly. Go there as well. When we return to Honfleur, we will look no further for a place to stay than New Cottage, which is now a new “favorite place.”

I am remiss in writing this since we stayed here a while back, but I keep thinking about how wonderful it was and wanted to share that! We. booked two rooms here in June. It turned out to be our favorite lodging of an 8 week trip in France. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The breakfasts were delicious - so many options, each better than the last. T1he grounds are well tended and relaxing. Ingrid was an amazing host. She was accomodating and helpful with wonderful suggestions about places to eat and see in town. The property is a short walk from town. Close enough to get to everything easily, far enough to avoid the busyness of Honfleur in summer. And we loved the chickens! Don't hesitate - stay here!
