I stayed 4 nights at Centabay and overall it was ok- it is in a central location in Paihia close to the wharf. the structure needs more renovations but they do their best to keep it clean with the volunteers cleaning every day.

I arrived after hours which was not a problem at all as they left my keycard in the locked safe outside. The hostel was in a great location and I had a lovely time walking along waterfront and exploring the Lane ways. The hostel was clean and tidy - the best I’ve ever seen for cleanliness. The receptionist was so lovely and I would highly recommend this hostel. They also had designated parking which you could purchase!

Great
XXi Ping ChenI like the location and Bay of Island is beautiful. Admiral's View Lodge is clean, quiet and offers self driving traveller's everything what one needs. Paihia's small community is nice, friendly and one can feel safe. I lost my mobile phone while I went out for dinner and found it in the next morning thanks to the lost and found board in the community.
GGuest UserFantastic location, walking distance to the town centre and Wharf . Room clean and spacious , we stayed for 4 nights and our rooms were cleaned and amenities replenished every day . Will definitely come again !
GGuest UserThe owner Reid was extremely helpful and deserves all credit.
The accommodation was beyond all our expectations.
We highly recommend this motel.
Thank you Reid.

XXIAOBINThe room is generally good, and the wife is quite satisfied! The room key is in a box with a code lock next to the door. When I went there, there was no one at the front desk. After ringing the doorbell, I told me the code and room number through the intercom. I took the key to open the door, which was very convenient. The wireless signal is very weak and the wifi password is not working well, so I didn't go to find someone to solve it after staying for one night.
AAnonymous UserThe most cost-effective stay in New Zealand! ! ! Two 1.5-meter large beds, very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can cook your own food. Perfect. The disadvantage is that the sheets are clean, but the bedding is dirty. Their sheets only help to separate you from the bedding, but they don't fit in. If you don’t call house keeping, there will be no house keeping. If you need house keeping during your stay, remember to tell the front desk every morning ~
AAnonymous UserI didn't see the check-in time clearly before booking. When I arrived, it was almost 10 pm. After communicating with the hotel and Ctrip, I solved it smoothly. Ruth was very enthusiastic, took the initiative to text me to tell me to return to the station to pick me up, and then gave me some ingredients to let me burn it myself for a night. Feel at home.
SSoThe location is great, a few minutes walk to beach front and maim centre for food. Amenities include cutlery, fridge, microwave, kettle etc. Only thing is there is no air-conditioner but fans were provided but luckily it wasn't too hot when we were there but in peak summer, no a/c would have been bad.
DDerek GerardusThe motel is in a good location. But the hotel is quite run down and very tired. The unit we had was relatively clean. The swimming pool looked a bit like a scene from a horror movie... In summary, It wasn't a bad experience to stay there, and it was quite good value for money.
