I booked this hotel based on stars and without looking at the actual reviews. I should have looked at the reviews and pictures. I was in town for a stressful reason so I didn't have the time or energy to complain and really, there wasn't any sense in complaining. This place has been run down for quite some time, and complaining wouldn't have made it better. I figured I would just make do but I also discovered I had only hand towels in my room. I called the front desk and the person who answered had to ask me what room I was in, so obviously, even their phone systems are so outdated that it didn't tell her that information. I waited about twenty minutes and called again. She let me know that they were waiting for the dryer. !!! I used a hand towel because I had to leave. When I returned, no towels had been delivered. I went to the office to get them myself. The phone no longer worked - it only gave a busy signal. The person in the office looked like she was half asleep and sitting on her own phone but she kindly gave me towels. The unit itself was filthy with grime on the doors. The toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall. There was peeling paint and damage to walls and furniture. There wasn't hot water. It got just barely warm enough to tolerate. All in all, it's just awful and needs a complete overall. The fact that this is a Marriott property is incredible. Someone needs to do a site visit and then begin the renovation process.

Traveling recently for work stayed at this hotel for a week and felt very comfortable. Clean, quiet, and on mornings when I had to leave before the breakfast buffet was open was offered a little bagged breakfast to have in my room. Michelle was looking after the desk most evenings that we were there and she made sure that we had everything we needed. Very professional, patient, kind and just an overall model of superior customer service. I will definitely stay there again.

Property is actually an attractive, clean facility. There was one front desk employee who was quite personable and we felt welcome every time we walked by the front desk since he made an effort to speak and say something friendly. The room was clean and serviced daily. The breakfast was adequate - nothing special. I was impressed that the small pool had ramp access for special needs patrons. I had an issue with the type of room and subsequent change in rates upon arrival from what I had originally reserved. The front desk/manager tried to make adjustments to the charges on my credit card - but it took several emails and several days to get that issue resolved. Also, they add a $7/day parking fee to your bill. I am not sure why - the property has no valet and is not in the midst of any special parking structure - that was a total ripoff. I found it interesting when we arrived first night, we were checking in at the front desk and asked where the ice machine was located, we were told by the lady at the front desk that they didn't have ice machines - we were told to turn on the ice maker in the room refrigerator and the ice would be coming in a couple of hours. While I was still at the front desk, two gentlemen came to the front desk and asked the same question - the same lady told those two guys to wait and she would take care of them. Hmmm.

I was due to stay for 3 nights and checked out after 1! I arrived to find my room (430) run down, dirty and look liked it had been cleaned in a rush or not at all. I was concerned before I arrived in the room as the lobby, hotel and elevator had a look of being tired, dirty and rundown. There are signs everywhere about needing to book housekeeping in advance and when you see the disgusting way the rooms are maintained by housekeeping you wonder why bother as they are not clean when a new guest arrives! The dust and dirt was just vile. They have a sign saying that they follow Covid cleaning protocols, this is a blatant untruth in this room and covid is the least of your worries here as based on the cleanliness of my room Listeria and other dirt based viruses are a bigger risk factor, When discussing with other guests they said their rooms were the same. The heating/AC was so loud in the room and the vent cover was hanging off the wall. I tried to call and then visit the front desk to let them know these things, but there was no one there each time I tried. When I checked out I was waiting for someone to come to the desk and after a few minutes the Manager stepped out of his office to attend me. He asked how my stay was and I let him know the issues. There was no response other than surprise on his face, no apology and no discussion about how it can be rectified, he just did not seem to care. They seem to be a nickel and dime operation as they even charge you $6 to park in an unsecure parking lot out front that is not busy, I think it is a liberty when properties in low demand areas charge for parking, its just another hidden revenue stream. The breakfast is very basic and they offer the least possible that they need to offer under the brand guidelines. I stay at many Residence Inns and this has to be one of the worst I have ever stayed in. Photos below are evidence of the above.

I travel frequently for pleasure and work. The staff here are so friendly and welcoming. I genuinely felt they went out of their way to make my stay the best it could be. My dog traveled with me and he got spoiled too by the staff. Will be back again soon. This will always be my first choice for stays in Houston. The staff at this hotel are top notch! Thank you all for that, you made this visit stand out from other properties. Ross and I can't wait to visit again soon!

The absolute worst Marriott experience ever! Rude lazy front desk staff old outdated room. We flew in and had been up since 3am and requested early check-in I was OK with a few hours without a room but 6 hours as a honors member was ridiculous. I went to the desk and asked again and was told nothing was available yet I asked for my checked baggage and woke my daughter up to leave and miraculously a manager appeared saying she had us a room. The guy at the desk we dealt with prior was completely clueless and the others were just plain rude. It is cool tonight and we called twice for someone to lite the fire pit but no one showed up after waiting over an hour still no fire. I have never left a bad review and have been faithful to Marriott for over 25 years. If this is what Marriott has to offer these days I'm over it. Don't stay here if you're expecting anything more than being treated like a bother. That's not what I go on vacation for if so I'd stay at a roadside inn. Rude lazy and uncaring look further for a place there's plenty nearby.
