The hotel is old and worn out. Compared to Sharm this is not at all worth considering as a vacation spot. Here is quite dirty everywhere. There is a big cleaning staff, but e.g. the water in the buckets is almost black from dirt. So the do not clean, but spread dirt around. In the World Restaurant the tables are dirty with food and drinks from other guests. And the extra not nice surprise for us (allergic), was there is a lot of wild carts on the hotel and the are also in the restaurant, going from table to table to 'ask' for food. The aricon in the room was smelling bad, like old food bad. Need cleaning for bacteria. The hotel is not a 5 star hotel. It has some nice pool areas, but the rest was not nice at all.

A small group of friends and I visited this hotel in the summer and it was a very lovely experience. The hotel is clean, well-maintained and relatively modern. Would I consider it a true 5* hotel/resort? No. However, it’s still in good shape, the rooms were nicely decorated and the hotel is clean. Could it be updated? Yes, but I had no major complaints and I am quite picky. So if I could feel comfortable here and not get “the ICK” I’m sure others who are a little picky themselves would enjoy their stay. The resort is adults only, and has a number of restaurants serving a range of food so there will be something to suit many tastes. I had read some negative reviews of the food here but none of us had any issues. At the start of our trip, all of us did catch “a little something”and were not feeling our best for 2 days, however, after a visit from the resort doctor and a brief trip to the pharmacy, we were fine. Nobody can be sure if we got sick because of the food at the resort, specifically, so let's just say that we got sick due to the heat, new germs from a new country or just travel sickness. Who knows? What we had didn’t really negatively impact our trip or our view of the hotel. The resort also has a spa with good massages available at a reasonable price (I booked a package so I could have a massage every day!), a small beach, a couple of large pools, some stores and is close to Hurghada city centre (a short Uber or taxi ride away). Just outside the front of the hotel there is a small pharmacy, a bank with an ATM that accepts foreign cards, as well as a few souvenir shops, restaurants and grocery stores. The resort is a very short car ride (maybe 5 minutes) away from the airport. Overall, our stay was entertaining and we met some lovely staff members. I would like to thank Ahmed and "Big John" in particular for their service and for making my friends and I laugh on many an occasion with their silly jokes 😊 Both staff members were very, very kind. FYl - "Big John" is also known as "Ricardo" who is also known as... I don't know. He is a man with many aliases. I would definitely recommend this hotel for solo travellers, couples, friends and families (without children, as again, this an adults-only resort). Note: Bring small denomination bills or coins for tips (dollars, euros or pounds) as staff work hard on long (12 hour) shifts and tips are appreciated. Staff here do go the extra mile for you and it's nice to show appreciation in a tangible way.

We stayed at the Grand Palace July 2024 The airport wasn’t particularly crowded, but Passport Control was very slow, very few personnel on duty. We had booked with Red Sea Holidays and were met outside the airport by the reps. We were told there were another 6 passengers for our transfer and one stop before ours. We decided to take a taxi that we negotiated down from 20 to 15 Euros . We arrived at the hotel at 10:30pm. The check-in was quick (no welcome drink) and we were taken to our room on the top floor of the “5000” building (Junior Suite – Sea View). Not easy to find your way around to begin with, there’s a resort plan of sorts available but not very good. Our room was reasonably spacious with the bed, a sofa and table. Plenty of hanging space, shelves and drawers. The large TV is fixed to the wall opposite the sofa so is not ideal for watching in bed. English speaking channels were BBC, CNN and 2 movie channels. There was no full-length mirror in our room, though some rooms do have one. The bathroom had a walk-in shower which worked well, though we are not fans of rainfall showers. The fridge (which was only slightly colder than room temperature) contained bottles of water and large bottles of Coke, Sprite and Fanta. Everything in the room was in good condition. Our room was kept reasonably clean but the pigeon poo that was on the balcony when we arrived was still there when we left, also we had to ask for more shower gel on two occasions. The deckchair style chairs on the balcony were in a grim condition. Free Wi-Fi is only available in the Lobby and the Lobby Terrace. Hotel wide coverage is available at a price, as an example 25 Euros for 1 device for 10 days, 75 Euros for 4 devices for 10 days. The free service is very poor and we heard that the paid-for service was not much better. The main pool was kept reasonably clean although it could do with maintenance to replace the many missing small tiles. The sunbeds around the pool are all large circular ones with built-in collapsible shades. At first sight we thought they would be difficult and possibly uncomfortable to use but in fact they were excellent and very comfortable. Each bed is large enough for two people but many people used one each. Some people were at the pool before 5:30am to reserve their ”special” position but if you are not choosy there is no need to be there before 9am. Despite the cleaning that went on around the pool areas it never appeared to be that clean. We ate all our breakfasts and lunches in the buffet World Restaurant, there was a very wide selection of food available, mostly of reasonable quality. Being an Arabic country there were no pork products, so no full English. Drinks were self-service at breakfast, lunchtime drinks service was usually, but not always, quick. For dinner we ate at the Italian 4 times, the Asian twice and the buffet the rest of the days. The a la Carte menu choices were not particularly large and there were extra (high) charges f

We were very disappointed with the food at the Hotel and ended up just eating breakfast there, we went out for dinner every evening. We both got ill on the second day and we weren't the only ones that were ill unfortunately. The Hotel is beautiful and also the rooms, couldn't fault anything. Staff are the best, so friendly and hard working. Stunning beach and pools. WIFI was up and down and was expensive. Such a shame about the food ... we won't be returning to Egypt because of this.

This hotel is amazing. The staff from reception right through to cleaners are friendly and will help if any help is needed. We are here just now and have had a great time and we will return without a doubt. There are a lot of hidden gems like the Vienna cafe which is where the delicious ice cream and cakes are served. Waiters are very attentive without looking for a tip. Food is delicious and a wide variety to cater for everyones needs ( I am a fussy eater but always found something different). A big shout-out to Ahmed and Mohamed in the Indochina restaurant the food is really good here and you can eat here multiple times. Also Nicholas cage in the reception bar was always on hand helping us a few times throughout our stay. But to be honest all of the staff deserve a medal for the long hours they work they still have a smile on there faces every day. Our room was cleaned every day and was spotless. The only negative was it is really hot and air conditioning could be a little better but other than that we are having an amazing time. Thank you grand palace for making us feel like part of the family.

I have just returned from the grand palace. If you are wanting to relax this is the place for you. I stayed in a room with pool which was amazing. The staff especially Ahmed in the reception bar were fabulous. He looked after me from day one until I left. Noted when my drink was finished and another would be on its way. He was just amazing. Mohammed cleaned our room daily and was very polite did a great job. Ahmed in the Asian restaurant was very attentive and just a lovely man. He made sure I was well looked after. Raulf (the cats papa) was the highlight of our evenings. A gentleman who loves his cats. Such a kind man. All the staff were polite and deserve to be tipped. These people work long days in extreme heat to take care of our every need. Overall the hotel is great. Food was plentiful and always somewhere else to try if you don’t like what’s on offer. Asian was my fave (sizzling oyster beef) 🐷🤤 I do think the hotel needs to offer some entertainment of an evening even if afew nights a week, some upbeat music in the day and definitely rethink the drinks. Buy your favourite alcohol at the airport so you can top up what is served. Thankyou grand palace for a lovely holiday x

Just returned from 2 lovely weeks at the palace my 4th time, reception always extremely helpful and friendly, lobby bar waiters can’t do enough for you they remember your drinks good prompt service however red wine could be better, had a swim up room and Sammy did a great jobs changing beach towels daily and keeping room pristine, always leaving plenty of water, asking did I need anything, and great thanks to Mr Nader who sorts this out in advance for me he is always around making sure the guests are happy , the beach again well cared for by the staff who work so hard especially the waiters Ahmed in particular goes out of his way to serve you, the beach mattresses are very worn however and some need replacing , the food at the beach club freshly cooked and lovely for lunch over looking the sea , many nice restaurants to choose from for a change from the main restaurant The World but always a great choice however in here , Feel the hotel could do a few more things like the Makadi spa example someone cleaning sunglasses giving cold flannels out cucumber facial’s round the pool /beach at the end of a long day in the sun these little extras a nice touch would highly recommended this hotel for your future holiday 🌟
