"We had a pleasant 10-night stay at the Grand Resort in Hurghada. The location is excellent, and the pools and outdoor areas are great. However, I wasn't a fan of the buffet. The selection was varied, but the quality and flavors didn't really impress me. On the other hand, the hotel's Marrakech restaurant was excellent: the dishes were delicious."

"The hotel is very well maintained and spotlessly clean, both inside and out; nothing is left lying around. The staff is friendly and always smiling, eager to help. The food is good quality in all the restaurants and snack bars. The soft drinks are excellent, including bottled brands like Coca-Cola, Fanta, and Sprite. The juices are fantastic: mango, guava, melon, apple, and orange. The pools are superb, and you can stand almost everywhere. The entertainment team is great and not intrusive. There are shops opposite the hotel, and a shopping center nearby for those who enjoy shopping. A taxi to Hurghada city center, which is 15 minutes away, costs around €2, but be aware that they prefer cash, so bring some change. We will definitely return to this hotel."

"We chose Continental Hotel Hurghada partly because of its very good reviews. Cleanliness was our first disappointment. We stayed in one of the villas with a small pool, which was a nice feature, but on arrival there was a clearly visible layer of dust on the furniture and in the bathroom. Some public toilets were also not as clean as we would expect. Despite the hotel's “Go Green” and water-saving messages, the toilet in our villa was continuously leaking water. The beach was our biggest disappointment. It was not cleaned and maintained well enough, and the actual swimming area is quite small. There is a marina next to the beach with tourist boats leaving and returning every day, and at times we could smell fuel. Part of the water is also used for water activities requiring speedboats, while swimming beyond the buoys is not allowed because of boat traffic.During our stay, we saw no corals or colourful fish at the hotel beach. If you are coming to the Red Sea hoping to snorkel and see colourful fish and corals directly from your hotel beach, this is something worth knowing before booking. The food was fine, but we expected more variety. Food availability was also quite restricted to set times. Ice cream was available only from 15:00 to 17:00, and after dinner there was basically nothing available to eat. Some staff members were genuinely friendly, but overall the service was less welcoming than we expected. One small example: we approached a bar at 11:59 and were told we could not be served because it opened at 12:00. A small thing, but hospitality is often about small things. One important point for guests with late flights: check-out was at 12:00 and our transfer was around midnight. Continuing to use beach towels and having lunch and dinner after check-out cost USD 30 per person (USD 120 for the four of us) without a room. There were positives, but overall we expected more from a 5-star hotel."

They were very nice to white people, though. After I complained, they quickly rectified the situation, but the initial unpleasant experience significantly impacted my mood. The public facilities were good. The room facilities were average (e.g., the toilet didn't flush)."
