Went in March from Australia to Lake Inari, desperate to see Northern Lights for two nights. Upon arrival at Lake Inari Mobile Cabins, Atte & Alexis welcomed us, they fired up a real Finnish Sauna, a shock to the system but absolutely invigorating for the body & mind. The main house had showers and breakfast /lounge area, was very cozy, spotlessly clean & ample charging stations. Warm as toast, with the heater on the lowest setting in the mobile cabins on the frozen lake overnight. We felt very safe with Atte’s skills on the snowmobile, great fun to be towed out. Saw the most amazing lights on both nights!! Slept soundly till towed back for generous breakfast. Alexis was fantastic, no problem with us being vegan, it was such a pleasure. Atte cooked a traditional Finnish Bar-B-Que in the fire hut Vegan style for us. His fire side conversations gave us a real insight into Artic life and Finnish history, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Cannot praise Atte & Alexis enough, a truly once in a life time experience made perfect by great hosts.

Lake Inari Mobile Cabins is exactly our kind of spot in this world. We loved our stay here! We stayed two nights, but we would have been happy to stay longer. There is something super special about the cabins- they are small, but large enough to enjoy your time in them. The experience of being towed onto a frozen lake and left for the night is a romantic, special experience. The base camp is comfortable. During the day you have use of the basecamp for the bathrooms, showers, kitchen and sauna if you choose. If you stay here, we highly recommend The Grill Hut for dinner. We enjoyed dinner both nights in The Grill Hut, and we're glad we did. The experience is casual and unique, and the food is terrific. The hosts at Lake Inari Mobile Cabin add to the experience. Atte and Alexa are lovely people, and they make certain everyone has their questions answered and that guests feel comfortable while visiting.

A truly unique experience in northern Lapland! From booking to check-out, the process was smooth and straightforward. Atte, Alexa, and team were responsive, organized, warm, and gracious hosts, and both the basecamp and mobile cabin were spotless and well-outfitted as all prior reviews shared. Note that snow suits and boots are provided for those in need at the basecamp, along with WCs, showers, towels, and space to store any snacks/drinks you might wish to bring with you. While we unfortunately didn't have time to take advantage of any of the activities, we did reserve spaces in the grill hut for a delicious meal and terrific conversation (I'd note that for those interested in ice fishing, Atte is a skilled guide). The mobile cabins themselves were wholly original, compact yet comfortable rooms on runners. They are pulled out on the ice at 8 pm and retrieved at 8 am, giving you many quiet and peaceful hours on the lake with the lights of homes and Inari town in the distance. Our evening was mostly overcast so we saw only one hint of aurora, but one can imagine the show when the sky is clear. We wrapped our visit with a delicious homecooked breakfast back at basecamp and engaging conversation with our hosts and other guests. For those looking for an igloo-style lodging experience in a more intimate, personalized, and adventurous setting, this fills the bill - and more. Sincere thanks to Atte, Alexa, and team for sharing their knowledge, care, and hospitality with us!

Our stay at the mobile cabins was the highlight of the entire trip! Atte welcomed us and we hung out in the base camp for a while. We had a delicious dinner of fish over the fire, then got settled in the cabin to be pulled out. We saw the Northern Lights for 4-5 hours on and off, AMAZING! And to do it this way was incredibly unique. The sunrise over the frozen lake was beautiful as well. The cabins are tiny, this is glamping vs. luxury, so just be aware of that. The other people staying in the cabins that night were super nice as well, great getting to know them. The only thing we didn't get to do was the sauna due to timing (it takes 30-40 minutes to heat up, so by the time we arrived we didn't have time before dinner, & had to leave early the next morning).

We really enjoyed our night in the cabin and the great opportunity to see the auroras without the village lights. We were lucky to be the only guests that night so we had the kitchen and sauna at the base camp to ourselfes. Esko - who build everything himself!! - pulled us to the lake around 9pm and we stayed there till 9am the next morning. Luckily the sky was clear and we could see amazing polar lights that night :)

I have spent 2 nights with my 7- years old daughter. Atte is very professional and we were warmly welcomed in the base camp. The premises are very comfy and clean. The cabin is small, but provides toilets and above all, unforgettable experience on the frozen lake. It is well warmed with comfortable bed. I recommend 100% the place for the experience. I would come back again and really felt as at home.

Our experience was great from the start to the end. We could enjoy some time in the sauna, a great and tasty dinner in the barbecue hut, and of course a night unlike any other in those cabins, where you feel alone in the nature. You barely see other cabins and are in a great spot to see northern lights, with all the comfort of being in a warm room on your own. The staff was lovely and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place which is great value and much more special compared to igloo-like hotels.

What an incredible experience! We spent 2 nights on Lake Inari in the hope of seeing the Aurora Borealis. The first night, it was snowing but what an amazing experience to be out on a frozen lake, in a glass-fronted cabin on skis, in sub-zero conditions with it snowing all around. Unbelievable! The next day it continued to snow but with app showing the weather clearing, Esko pulled us out onto the lake and what a night we had with the Aurora Borealis putting on a full show. The ‘base camp’ is very well set up with warm clothing and gear available for use, tea and coffee on hand and the biscuits were a nice touch. There are a range of activities that you can do including kicksledding and ice fishing. The sauna is fabulous and well worth the experience; running from the heat into the snow - Exhilarating! The staff are so personable, interesting, knowledgeable and accommodating - many a great conversation was had over coffee! With the staff, the view, the unusual accommodation, the hospitality, the opportunity to see the Northern Lights -this is an all-round experience not to be missed.
