The staff is very kind and friendly. Feel the slow life in Finland. Our flight arrived in the morning and the owner offered to have breakfast, rest, and get the room ready early. During the period, the activities provided were also very exciting. The most recommended is chasing the Aurora. The tour guide was very experienced and we were very lucky! I saw the aurora on the first day The check-in date was New Year's Eve, and the hotel prepared a New Year's Eve dinner, champagne and fairy wands for everyone, and participated in the countdown atmosphere! Really happy! !

We visited Nangu in February as a family of 4. Myself, my husband and our two adult children. It was an "Artic Experience" holiday and very much different from anything we had ever been on so we were all excited but a bit apprehensive before we arrived. After staying at the hotel for 7 nights we came away feeling it was one of the best holidays we had ever had. It was an absolutely amazing experience! The hotel is set in a beautiful location on the edge of Lake Inari. We stayed in a log cabin room with a hot tub overlooking the lake, which was beautiful. The food was delicious and plentiful and the staff all very helpful. The activities that we took part in were all very well organised and the guides all very knowledgeable and helpful. We loved all of the activities especially the husky sledging and snow-shoeing through the woods. We saw the Northern Lights a few times which just added to the amazing experience we all had. The temperature whilst we were there was -8 which was fine, as we wore the snow suits that they provided and had taken lots of layers and our own ski clothing. I would not hesitate to recommend Nangu as a hotel and winter activity destination. It was fabulous.

This was from start to finish a wonderful experience, and so very relaxing and exciting in equal measure. The staff and guides are lovely, and every trip/excursion is organised and executed brilliantly. We did the husky and reindeer day, snowmobiles, snowmobiles at night, aurora camp and aurora hunt by car and are glad we did every single one of them. Food is fantastic, our Wilderness room was warm, welcoming, spacious and clean. I really can’t fault this place and would love to go back.

We've just returned home after the most amazing stay at The Wilderness Hotel Nango, and I can't recommend this place enough! The staff were professional, approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. In particular the adventure guides who took us out on our trips were very lovely (Rhuben and Tony). The facilities were stunning, spotless, very well maintained and of the highest quality. The location is ideal if you want to get away from children and crowds. It was just perfect for a romantic get away. The food was very colourful with vegetarian options at each meal time. The outdoor clothing provided was excellent and it kept out any cold, even after 2 hours on a snowmobile. I would highly recommend the heated igloo, as it was just magical to watch the Northern Lights from a cosy warm bed, through the glass roof with a glass of fizz in hand. I felt that the timetable of activities we were given on arrival was excellently timed and spaced out. The reindeer and husky ride to was such an experience and I will always treasure it. Thank you Wilderness Hotels you have given us memories that will last a lifetime. I'm still pinching myself now that I'm home in the UK.

Without a shadow of a doubt one of the best places we have ever stayed. We had a panoramic room with hot tub and sauna and it was worth every penny we paid, the views were breathtaking and it is so peaceful and quiet. We ever saw the northern lights from our balcony. The room is very spacious with everything you need. The in room toiletries are lovely and of good quality. The staff are so friendly and all the guides on the arranged trips were brilliant. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and the food is incredible. Even on the ice fishing trip the guide made toasted sandwiches on an open fire and served us reindeer soup followed by cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate warmed on the fire. The hot berry juice you get everywhere is delicious and a specifically shout out to the the Nangu Sour cocktail at the hotel! The trips are very well organised and timed perfectly. We had a fantastic time celebrating our ten year wedding anniversary, we had a trip to the reindeers and huskies and stopped at the sister hotel Nellim and Nangu by far is on another level with the luxury feel and the quality of the food.

What an amazing stay. We stayed in the panoramic log cabin, it was worth every penny. The jacuzzi at night, watching the stars and complete peace and quiet. The activities were all extremely enjoyable and well organised. We did the 6 night package and loved every minute. We didn’t see the aurora so will have to return. Highlight of the trip was husky sledging, snowshoeing and snowmobiling ❤️

We stayed on a 4 night package having previously stayed at the excellent Wilderness Hotel in Muotka. It's a close call but Nangu was even better. Lovely room and super-friendly staff. All the guides were amazing - well-informed and keen to make sure the guests were happy, but a special mention goes to Reuben who went above and beyond on our trips out with him. The food was first class, buffet breakfast, lunch with a choice of hot or cold dishes and dinner, which was limited choice but superbly presented and delicious. Cannot recommend enough 10/10

We were truly impressed with our stay!! The hotel is at a perfectly beautiful and quiet spot on lake inari, with some elevation around the archipelago so you can see some nice views by walking or snowshoeing. We stayed at one of the Panorama Log Cabins - it's totally worth the splurge! Having your sauna was very nice (also works well as a dry room, even when it's switched off), but I especially enjoyed the hot tub overseeing the lake. In the late afternoon when the light was magical and the lake was quiet, I could've stayed there forever. We had a corner room (504) and enjoyed lots of privacy - we slept with the curtains all open and the moonshine against the glistening snow was beautiful beyond words. The bed was so comfortable, we rested incredibly well in them. FOOD was generally excellent. Breakfast didn't have a lot of daily variation, but I love the spread and can have it every day (literally did). Lunch is also a buffet and dinner was a semi-buffet. I love the food, seriously, way better than Savoy in Helsinki for example - but I have to say, it's almost always fish or vegetarian for the dinner mains options, and for my non-seafood eating husband, he was craving for some proper meat by D4. Was a bit disappointed not having any reindeer option for dinner though! The GUIDES were all amazing - a special shoutout to Pippa and Aida who took such good care of us, and their love for the nature was infectious. I lost a part of my camera during snowshoeing, miraculously Mattie found it for me later! I enjoyed all the activities - ok maybe not so much aurora snowmobiling (though we got to see the aurora there). My helmet's visor were all frosted up, and through the dense fog on the lake at night, I could hardly see anything while speeding (ok maybe not speeding) at ~40km/hr. It was a bloody cold night as well! We haven't done any of these winter outdoor activities before, so it was all very interesting. And even though it might sound short (2 hrs for cross country ski and ice fishing) but it was enough. For the longer activities (snowmobile adventure, snowshoe), the guide will cook lunch for you, was very lovely to sit around a campfire while they do so. And these are not simple lunches, you'll have a hot sandwich, a salmon soup, some dessert, coffee or hot chocolate! Snowmobile adventure took us to a little frozen harbour and we met some wild reindeers on the way. It was also lovely to meet the huskies and the baby reindeers as well. Ok about the aurora. I guess it's all down to luck in the end. Just one comment that I wish they have more aurora hunt by car options so we could choose to join when the forecast looks good but the lake was foggy. Oh and if you're deciding between different wilderness hotels - if you're not travelling with children, I'd choose Nangu over Nellim. It's a much more beautiful hotel building and location. Last, don't be too anxious about what to wear. Obviously you bring your own base layers and base layer glov

What a fabulous 4 days we had. Everything was fantastic. The staff were all lovely - efficient and friendly in the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious every day - a real credit to the chefs. The guides were knowledgeable and great company and the activities were such fun. The cabin was toasty warm with a jacuzzi on the balcony and sauna in the bathroom. We made such special memories that will last forever!
