LLisa-hqIt was my first time visiting Northeast China, and I'd always heard it could be a bit ”rustic” or ”no-frills” there. I was worried about ending up in a basic farm stay or a hotel trying to pass off as four- or five-star but feeling more like a budget chain, so I took my time when booking this hotel.
There's absolutely no need to worry about any of those issues when staying here. The rooms are new, the decor is stylish, and while the facilities are domestically produced, they're surprisingly good. It was my first time using a Chinese-made smart toilet (bidet), and I was quite impressed – definitely saved it to my mental wishlist, haha.
Just a few minor points about the room: The automatic curtains were a bit confusing; it seemed the sheer and main curtain controls were reversed. The main curtain button didn't work at all, but we didn't really need to open them anyway. The TV (which I tried on the last night) was good, with screen mirroring and other features, though most content was pay-per-view (there were some free options, but they weren't much to write home about). The cleaning staff was a little inattentive at times; during our four-night stay, on one occasion, they forgot to remove the dirty towels from the bathroom.
A standout feature I really loved was the availability of freshly ground coffee everywhere. You could make it for free in the lobby, and it was also offered at breakfast.
Breakfast was quite good – a classic ”small but perfectly formed” spread with all the essentials. My child even said they want to come back just for the delicious breakfast, haha! I particularly recommend the nectarines and seaweed rice balls (the soup rice is also worth a try). A minor, perhaps unsolicited, suggestion: the Western pastry station was generally decent, and I understand that baking everything from scratch might not be cost-effective. However, it would be great if the bread selection could be upgraded slightly to include baguettes, croissants, and better white toast. There are many excellent frozen pre-baked options available these days. Could we perhaps move away from more generic, mass-produced options like Dalieba bread and Panpan products?
The hotel's laundry room was definitely a highlight – incredibly convenient! I came back from this Northeast trip without a single piece of dirty laundry, which was a huge relief. My only suggestion is that if the hotel could provide small stickers recommending appropriate washing programs, it might save a lot of electricity. I noticed many guests washing just one or two items but seemingly unsure which cycle to use, often defaulting to the ”sterilization wash”... it just felt so wasteful.
All in all, it was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is about 1.8 km from Enduoli and perhaps 2.4 km from Yunding Market. Local Didi (ride-hailing) service is quite convenient, so personally, I don't see the need to stay right in the crowded town center.
