Just a quick overnight stop. Hotel prices in Inverness have become silly. HIE had a good room available at a fair price. With a good breakfast - cooked and continental - included, you can't really go wrong.
Friendly check in, everything you need in the room. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Lots to love but room for a few improvements.
The biggest is the doors on the rooms. They are heavy wooden doors and slam really loud. As you can imagine that’s quite annoying when people go in and out waking people up
Bathroom door rotten at bottom from damp, needs replaced, looks awful.
Cleaning under sinks and taps in bathrooms, the things you see when you sit in the bath!!
Painting of the room could be a bit tidier, white paint all over grey radiator pipes.
Cleaners could be a bit more gentler when hoovering, they batter the radiator pipes in the rooms and it vibrates to the room your in , next door!
Out of stock of some flavours for cocktails, young staff seen with mobile phones very casually. Move out of sight, the customer / service are important
Food is expensive for the quality you get too

GGuest UserThis hotel is a highlight of this trip. I originally thought of this place as a short stop, but I didn't expect such a big surprise.
The hotel is a house hidden in the woods, facing the lake, very quiet; the hotel room facilities are comfortable and warm, and also very spacious; the breakfast is very rich, with a variety of choices; there is a parking space, which is very convenient; the hotel owner is very warm and thoughtful, and helped us book a restaurant for dinner.
It is a very suitable place for vacation, relaxation, and emptying.

GGuest UserIt was a beyond excellent stay at Ness Walk. The service and staff have been exceptional and warm. The rooms were beautiful and clean. Whenever we needed help, the staff were always really kind, warm and helpful. They've really created such a wonderful impression and we would only recommend Ness Walk to anyone visiting Inverness.
AAlyseFirst let me say that the owners were incredibly kind and accommodating. It pains me that to even write this but I thought fellow travelers should hear my experience. First, there are two aye stays in Inverness. My gps took me to the wrong one first. That was awkward. After I finally figured it out, the place was very cutely decorated with Scottish and Loch Ness decor. Contactless check in was easy however a board with everyone’s name and room numbers does not feel super safe for me a solo female traveler. But over all easy enough. Next I stayed in room 7 which is up a flight of stairs so make sure you pack light! (Which you should do anyway in Scotland.) My room had just been renovated with new carpet but it smelled like off gassing and I had to open the window (which was broken) there was a radiator for heat which I had no idea how to use. So it got a little chilly. Now here comes the problems: the rooms are very close together and the walls are paper thin. I was kept up until 3 in the morning hearing conversations and snoring. We were only given the choice of receiving breakfast between 7:30-8:30 in the dining room. So I woke up earlier than I would have liked to eat breakfast. Which was just okay. Nothing too outstanding to write about but again the hostess was very sweet. Overall I could see that they’re trying their best. But I would recommend sound machines in each of the rooms or something so people can have a good nights sleep. The location was pretty good and just over the bridge from the high street.
GGuest UserExcellent hostel! Great common self-catering facilities; there were two full kitchens with plenty of tables and seating so multiple parties could be cooking at a time. Staff were very helpful and let me leave my bag before check-in and after check-out to accommodate my bus times.
The room (4-bunk female dorm) was very spacious so plenty of room for sorting through my bags. Bunk was large and included a USB plug and power outlet there. Room had large attached shower and toilet rooms.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is located in the center of Inverness. It is simple and bright. The receptionist is patient and enthusiastic. The restaurant is on the right side of the reception. The food is very Scottish and the price is reasonable. The largest second-hand bookstore in the UK is about 100 meters away from the hotel (it was closed when we arrived). Next to it is Ness Bridge. We arrived at nearly 7 o'clock in the evening. The sky was still bright. We had dinner at a Turkish restaurant in the city center. The barbecue was very authentic. We walked along the banks of the River Ness. It was a quiet and beautiful city. As soon as we turned into the city center, the nightlife was also very lively. There were many people at the entrance of the bar and karaoke hall. We walked back to the hotel slowly. It was past 9 o'clock and the sky was still bright. We washed up and made up for the jet lag. The next morning, the hotel's buffet breakfast was very rich, with six or seven varieties of milk alone. Sit on the bank of the River Ness and enjoy the fresh morning. In short, it was a very comfortable stay.
GGuest UserEvening event dinner was at best poor. Starter which should have been hot was cold, main course just warm, the desert had run out by the time our table was served.
The hotel toilets were in need of an attendant checking regularly .
We ended up laughing about it with references to faulty towers.
However our room was beautiful, clean, well presented, the bed was very comfortable. We had a great night sleep.
At breckfast the arm of my chair was loose and lifted up when I would go to move my chair in/out from the table. When I was looking around the continental breckfast counter I could hear a male member of the kitchen staff shouting and swearing using the F word, not at all what I expected from any Hotel.
Lasting impression I would not rush back.
JJuneCan't leave proper review as made a genuine mistake with booking ...had entered wrong dates....was visiting my dad in hospital so had to rebook another hotel very quickly ,so never got any refund at all not even partial refund so lost all the money paid for hotel and breakfast ...
GGuest UserGood hotel but, for their regular double room, over priced. The Glen Mhor is basically a collection of former B&B establishments which have been taken over and redeveloped. This means that the majority of rooms are in neighbouring buildings so a bit of a walk is involved! I have stayed here before and each time found myself in a small double room. They are clean, well decorated and fine for an overnight stay. On the downside, they tend to be so small that there is no room for a chair or workspace. This time around we opted for the breakfast package. The restaurant was right at the opposite end of the complex but the walk along to it was pleasant. The breakfast itself was excellent. Staff were incredibly attentive and the range of food on offer was very good.
Would I stay again? That would depend on the package on offer. I wouldn't opt for a 'room only' given the small size - there are plenty Premier Inns around which, to be fair, are of an equal, if not higher standard to the standard double rooms at Glen Mhor. Location is excellent for the city centre and depending when you travel, there is plenty parking available.
GGuest UserGreat location with easy walk into city centre.
Quiet at night.
Situated right on the River Ness with fabulous views of the river from our room.
Lovely building with lots of original features such as high ceilings, sash windows and wood panelling.
Rooms cleaned and beds made every day.
Lift at hotel.
Nice bar with friendly staff.
Helpful reception team.
Luggage storage given on day of departure.
Twin bedded room allocated which we requested.
Well worth the price and much nicer than modern generic hotels locally.
Will definitely stay here again
GGuest UserIt is a self check-in hostel, with 6 independent rooms and shared kitchen. We got room 4, which is a really nice room with 4 beds and a big bath tub. It is very suitable for a couple and family.
