Best Hotels near Foot Locker, Irvington

In the black area! In the black area! In the black area! The corridor is very smelly, there is a sound in the middle of the night, there are harassing calls, the streets outside are cluttered, but there is a Chinese restaurant not far away to make up for some spiritual damage. Can't figure cheap!

We chose this hotel based on being an IHG and close to the Newark Airport. We tripped in to New York City daily and learned to use the hotel shuttle bus, a couple of trains, the subway as well as Uber and Lift. The staff at the airport were very friendly and helpful.

After a long flight from the UK we arrived to check in and were greeted by very friendly reception staff who asked us all about our trip, where we were travelling to etc, so we explained we were at the start of a roadtrip. We asked if our room rate included breakfast, it didn't, but the very helpful Nate said he wanted our trip to get off to a good start and gave us a voucher for breakfast. Was a lovely gesture, very welcome and the next morning it set us up for the day - thanks Nate! The hotel itself was fine, the room perfectly adequate. Our only issue was the family across the corridor. I think there had been a problem with their room so they were in the hallway making such an amount of noise which carried on inside the room. I believe several complaints were made as it was as though there was a party going on. Security came up a couple of times and it eventually quietened down. Just not what we needed at 11pm onwards after a long flight, nor I'm sure did anyone else.

Long way to the shuttle bus point and waiting more than 30 minutes for the next pick up. Other than this inconveniences, everything is ok in the hotel.

It’s at the average level. It’s far away from the airport, however if you take a taxi, it costs 6mins and 35 dollars!!!!! All the facilities are not at the expectation but the having enough space (quite big). The bed is comfortable to sleep. The toilet at the bathroom is always full of water (not dirty), it’s normal? Curious about that…… And the hotel service is also acceptable. Overall, as a Hilton hotel, it is under my expectation.

I was so completely impressed with the team at the Kenilworth. We booked a one-night stay during our stay-over in Newark. We were a high maintenance crew as we were a family of four that asked for rides back-and-forth from the airport, extra sheets for the pull out, and our luggage stored so we could explore the city during for the day. Each staff we encountered were highly accommodating and did so with a smile, Sebastian, Bob, and the two other staff whose names I didn’t have the pleasure to catch. A+ service from an independent hotelier.

We stayed here for a night before taking an early morning flight. Clean room and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is about 10 mins. drive to and from the Liberty International Airport. Free hotel shuttle runs every 30mnts. from the hotel. The shuttle is shared with Home2 guests as well and drops you off at all terminals(A,B C...). You have to let the hotel front desk know what time you need the shuttle. Hotel offered grab and go breakfast bags if you have to leave early in the morning if the breakfast area is closed. Hotel was amazing, the front desk workers and managers were very nice! They gave us wonderful advice and directions around the city! Hotel is located in a very convenient spot every is walking distance.

I stayed here the night before an early flight out of Newark. The front desk lady, had a great attitude and she was so friendly and helpful. She assisted me with a food delivery driver that was “lost” and when he never showed, she gave me a tip to a restaurant that would deliver. She proactively got me set up on the airport shuttle. The morning of my flight, the two ladies working in the lobby greeted me and offered to assist me with the shuttle. They offered a to go snack since I was leaving before breakfast. Then they chatted with me and other guests waiting for the shuttle. The hotel was sparkly clean and smelled nice and fresh. There was tea/coffee and cookies in the lobby and snacks for purchase.

The management here deserves the lowest possible rating. I arrived here on July 5 for a 4 night stay with my daughter and disable son. He requires a wheelchair for ambulating. My reservation was made well in advance. We were visiting family in the area and looked forward to outdoor pool time. On arrival there was a man at the entrance who I assumed would help with baggage. He disappeared into the building. My daughter and I helped my son into his wheelchair. The wheelchair was in the trunk and we had to remove the luggage to get it out. We made two trips into the lobby got to the registration desk. It was warm in the lobby and now saw fans at the desk. I inquired about what was going on. We were then told the ac was down and had been for three days. I told them I couldn’t stay here . They offered to cancel my reservation and handed me a paper with two hotels listed. One not a Hilton and in Elizabeth. The other in Parsippany at an Embassy Suites now a Hilton brand. I asked them to call and see if there was a handicapped accessible room. They said we can’t do that you go do it yourself. After protesting that was not good customer service the clerk helped me out. I also inquired why I had not been informed earlier about the lack of air conditioning. I had received a message that morning welcoming to the hotel as if nothing was amiss. The reservation got made we went on our way. Not one person offered to help us get the luggage and the wheelchair back to the car. To add insult to this about an hour after we left got an email informing me that the ac was down and offered to cancel our reservation. I am a Hilton honors member. When I travel I stay at Hilton. What a disappointment. Much of this could have been averted with proper management.The lovely Short Hills Hilton where I stayed and dine several year ago is not the same. Hilton you are not well represented by this facility.
