Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace

This was our second stay in the hotel after staying for the same week last year (first week of March). We booked a side sea view room for 3 adults and as we booked direct with the hotel we could choose our room so we had the same room as last year (8427). Upon arrival in the hotel the familiar smell instantly hit us and it just made it feel like we never left. The first impression at check in wasn’t great, there was a queue and rather than sitting people down to give them a drink while they waited, we did have to queue quite a while before we were even acknowledged. However once we were seen to the check in was quick and we were offered a welcome drink. Our room was also ready early, we arrived about 1pm and so 2 hours ahead of official check in time. The bell boy was quick to take us to the room and all the staff were very friendly. The room was a good size, although for 3 adults it did lack storage. It was very quiet at night and always kept very clean. It also has an amazing view when you open the door into the corridor. We were missing a dressing gown when we arrived but reception were quick to rectify this. I also requested a kettle which they soon sorted out. We did also have an issue with the air conditioning and they sent someone out the evening we reported it and it was much better after that. The thing that makes this hotel is the staff, from all the cleaning staff, to the chefs, to the reception staff, to the waitresses and waiters, nothing is too much trouble. The omelette and pasta chef (Noreen I think was his name) remembered me and was always so happy. When we were in the restaurant Andres saw we had a steak a couple of times and brought over a steak knife without even being asked. Londono and Anthony also worked so hard and were so friendly in the restaurant. Merlyn in the sports bar was so kind, and so attentive, she knew what drinks we wanted before we even had to ask, we never had an issue getting drinks. Even by the pool they would come around with a drinks trolley and offer to take a drinks order, nothing was too much trouble. The food selection in this hotel is fantastic, there is show cooking from freshly grilled fish and meat to a pasta station, it really gives you everything you want. At night it also has a carvery station and in the morning freshly cooked eggs cooked to your liking. The foot was shot on the whole, occasionally it could be hotter. The plates were also hot. Compared to last year we felt the fruit selection had improved and there was also more choice of fish and meat. They even had lobster on the grill! There could be some more variety on the carvery or even a second carving station would be good. The potato and veg choice is also limiting, maybe there could be a good more choices, eg some roasted potatoes. The sweets can also be a bit limiting at times. This said the show cooking by the carvery every night changed and was really tasty and well presented. The only other negative I’d say is the labels

The hotel is very well appointed with excellent facilities. The food was of very high quality and the service was amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful. This certainly felt like paradise and very hard to leave at the end of our holiday. But we will be back !

We returned from the Iberostar Selection last week, and wish we were still there! This hotel is by far the best all-inclusive we have ever stayed at. From the warm welcome, the exceptional service continued throughout the duration of our stay. Our room was lovely, having a sea view, and plenty of space. There was a large wardrobe, plenty of hangers and a big bathroom with a fab shower, toiletries, robes and lots of lovely soft towels. The main restaurant was lovely. There was plenty of room between the tables, and it was light and airy. The food itself was just exceptional in terms of quality and choice. There was something different every night, and during our stay we enjoyed steak, duck, lobster and so many different types of freshly cooked fish. There was a huge choice of salads, pasta, desserts and cheeses. We couldn’t fault the food at all. There were plenty of activities available every day, and although we chose only to take part in a couple of these, we did enjoy daily walks along the beach and went swimming in the sea a couple of times. There are shows each night, finishing around 10-10.30, at which point the majority of guests seems to go to bed. The bar does however, remain open until 12.30! If we had to choose one thing which set this hotel apart from others however, it would have to be the staff. They were simply amazing. They worked smoothly as a team, always smiling, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff certainly deserve acknowledgement as they definitely help to make this hotel what it is. Overall, we just had the best time in Fuerteventura and would, without hesitation, recommend this hotel. Just as a side note, there are some negative reviews of this hotel, commenting on the tired and outdated appearance of the reception area and other parts of the hotel - I think there may be some confusion as there are three Iberostar hotels within a very short distance of one another. I can only assume that the negative comments should refer to one of the other hotels as this hotel is neither tired nor outdated!

The first time we stayed here (last April), we loved it soo much we stayed an extra week. We came back again last week (23rd January), and we’re, again, soo impressed by the whole experience. Check-in lovely and smooth with a cold glass of Prosecco. The rooms and the hotel are spotless, lovely mini bar in the room which is topped up everyday (soft drinks as well as beer and Prosecco). Lovely quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion in the bathroom, so no need to bring any of that. Bathrobes and slippers too. Great coffee machine with pods too. It was my birthday while we were here and we returned to our room and there was a card and a basket of gifts and a bottle of Prosecco. Lovely touch! The food is absolutely amazing! I have never seen such a great choice at an all inclusive. Fresh meat and fish cooked to order, seafood to die for, more dishes than I can mention. The Japanese restaurant is well worth a visit too. I treated myself to a visit to the spa, which was a wonderful experience. Overall, the staff absolutely make this hotel experience truly wonderful, always happy, hard working, kind and courteous. I would personally like to mention SEVILLANO and ALIOU, who are soo kind and attentive and even remembered us from last year. Needless to say, we have already booked again for April and literally can not wait! Thankyou all soo much for another amazing holiday!

What a wonderful place this is! The friendly and happy staff make this place extra special. The food is the best we have encountered in any hotel and the hotel and grounds are simply beautiful! Treated ourselves to the Star prestige package and feel that this was worth the extra - the pool space the best advantage in my view. Sunrise over the sea from our balcony in the morning was a lovely start to the day. The cocktails delivered twice daily to our sunbeds, a lovely and luxurious touch. We have thoroughly enjoyed our special holiday and we will be return! Thank you Iberostar for a very lovely time!

The best 2 things about this hotel are food & drink offer which is superb probably the best we have had in any 5 star hotel and the customer service was also great. However the room was not suitable for a 5 star hotel. We had a basic room but would still expect the quality to be there. The room was in desperate need of renovation. The furniture was covered in damage, the coffee machine leaked and the water had damaged the top which was brown and the paint peeling off. The blackout curtains were black and dirty at the bottom. The view from these rooms made me feel like i was fenced in looking from the terrace onto an old metal wire fence ( this needs disguising) so just didn’t use it. So if booking don’t book a basic room unless this will not bother you as it did me. The entertainment we also felt was only average often outside on the terrace where it was quite chilly in January as people sat on there was insufficient comfortable chairs but lots of stools!. Didn’t use the spa but was chargeable annoying when paid so much for hotel. The ‘turn down’ service was old fashioned and unnecessary money would have been better spent on the rooms, it’s a novelty at best. All that said we had a good holiday made so by the good things mentioned above.
