When I arrived at the place, I called the boss and he received me with water and fruit. The entrance is not apparent at first sight, but he speaks English so it was easy to find him. He also invited me for tea, but I was too tired. He directed me to my room that also had lockers and a small table. The location is very convenient, just in front of the west gate to the old town. The beds are old and move a lot, but they are enough to pass one night or two.

Best hotel i have been in a long time ! Owner is really welcoming here ! The place is well located in front of Jianshui ancient city and temples.

I had a great time in Jianshui, the owner of the hostel did make my stay even more special, he helped me in many ways, I am beyond grateful he could help me out to get a SIM card and all the app struggles that you can face traveling to China from abroad .
I highly recommend to stay with him for dinner or any meal, food was amazing and I felt like visiting friends rather than staying at a hostel. There’s a nice rooftop where you can also use the washing machine and dry your clothes.
I will definitely come back!

I was traveling alone and for me was it a perfect fit. Xuhui was very friendly and welcoming, he toke time and showed me around. I highly recommend to book here and get to know Xuhui, specially for international travelers. Great experience. Thank you

It looks like no one takes care of it, and there is dust everywhere. I'll just stay here for one night and won't come again. Actually the location and space are quite good, just clean up.

I arrived at the youth hostel at around 9pm. I booked it immediately after seeing the room. The room was clean and comfortable, well ventilated, and both the room and the bathroom had windows. The bedding was also clean, and the room was quite large. There was a large platform on the top floor, which was very comfortable to sit and enjoy the breeze at night. I will stay at this youth hostel again next time I go to Jianshui. The boss was also very nice. I didn't eat after arriving, so he recommended Lao Er BBQ nearby. I couldn't find it on the map, but it was delicious!

We stayed 3 nights in this hostel. The location is very good as it is next to the west gate to enter the old city.
The gentleman at reception spoke English, which was helpful and he gave us water every day.
He upgraded us to a family room ("bigger than the doubles which are apparently very small") and that suited us. We were able to use the blankets from the other beds to add them on top of our "mattress" because the beds are clearly wooden boards and we were happy to have extra layers.
The welcome and service were good but the amenities and cleanliness left something to be desired...

Superb welcome from Mr Xu, he made us taste his tea, his wines, liqueurs and he speaks English which made it easy for us to communicate. I highly recommend stopping here if you come to Jianshui. In addition, he took us on foot to draw water and gave us his restaurant recommendations. Really, a great immersion into local life.
