Standard, unexciting hotel but clean, comfortable and good value. Boring location but right next to station so ideal for a stopover. Very quiet area but some reasonable food choices close by. Good breakfast.

Travelling with my mom. Had a brilliant stay even though there were super strong winds on that night. There was perfectly delicious restaurants nearby, only 2mins away was ootoya- excellent food and service. The man who was running the hotel reception was so kind and friendly and went to extraordinary lengths to help us with our luggage and shipping to our next hotel. The breakfast was also yummy, simple flavors but wonderfully traditional japanese fare. My mom has some mobility issues too, so we were glad to see the relatively spacious room and wider than normal bath tub. 100% recommended!
One small issue with trip, not the hotel, I would have appreciated a more obvious flag out that the payment made online was a DEPOSIT. The man was quite flustered when I said I paid online already because you have to pay again when you get there then get a refund from trip after checking out. Please be aware of this when you book! But it was my oversight - although trip PLEASE emphasise these things a little more!

The room and bath were clean and there were no problems, but there was a hair? or beard? in the kettle and I felt bad.
Also, it's fine that you get your own amenities in the lobby, but I wish they'd announce that to people who checked in by themselves using the machine. I found out in the elevator that I had to get them in the lobby, which was a double hassle.
Also, it was shortly after check-in had started and the amenities were already gone, but I went back around 10pm to look again and they hadn't been replenished.
It felt like it was for people who are used to Toyoko and for long-term stays.

The location is very convenient. There are many self-paid parking options nearby. The facilities and rooms are very new and clean. Basic breakfast is included but there is no milk. You can borrow a luggage scale from the front desk.

Toyoko Inn is excellent as always. It is right outside Joetsu-myoko Station, with a great location, good breakfast, and clean rooms. There is an Otoya restaurant next to it, and the set meals there are very good! There are not many hotels to choose from around this station, so I just stayed here.
