What a great stay! Right on Kep beach, we arrived on a Saturday so the beachfront was full of families enjoying a picnic and day at the beach. Checked in, we had a room right next to the pool. The room itself was as per the online pictures and quite spacious.. The only down side was the harder mattress which are sometimes unavoidable in SE Asia. Given the water quality along the beach looked a bit hit and miss it was lovely to float around in the pool overlooking the to and fro below. The staff were really helpful, and the European manager has also taken a few steps to try and be more sustainable, such as water cooler near reception for water refills with a handy jug in your room, and the pool is salt water. No plastic straws or bottles in the restaurant. We ate lunch in the restaurant and it was very tasty and good quality, worth the cost which is about standard for Kep. Breakfast was also very good and selected off a menu. Delicious scrambled eggs and soft baguette. Would most definitely stay here again when visiting Kep.

We 100% recommend! We stayed here 2 nights from August 31, 2019 to September 2, 2019. Very nice place, well located in Kep (<10mn from Crabs' market with tuk-tuk, <5mn from Rabbit's island departure pier). The owners are French (so are we!) and so kind. The hotel is very recent (built a couple of years ago), small (8 rooms) so intimate, the all rooms are very pleasant, each one with its unique decoration, with very nice material. Finishings are state-of-the-art, it is obvious the owners built this place working hard and paid attention to every detail. The garden (with a large and beautiful pool) is particularly oustanding and well-tended. We loved this place and will definitely come back!

My party of five arrived in Kep today at 6:30 pm. It was dark, and after five hours of traveling in a mini-van, we got a tuk tuk to take us to Kep Bungalows. We had reserved three rooms - 2 standards and a superior. When I entered my standard room, the smell of mold and sewer hit me. The walls were disgustingly dirty and there was a hole in the upper corner of one wall. And I am not exaggerating when I say that there was a thick coat of dust on the fan. Then I heard a knock on my door. It was my daughter. Their room, which was right next to mine, was just as dilapidated as mine. With our bags in our hands, we went to our friends’ room. Their room was nice. We told them that we were not staying. Suffice to say, when they saw the stark contrast between their superior (R3?) to our standard room (A4 & A5), they were shocked. When we explained our concerns to the desk people, they said it could not be dirty because the rooms were cleaned that morning and the man said he personally checked the cleaning himself. My son-in-law, the desk woman, and an older child went to see the room. The boy came back after a few minutes and confirmed it did stink. Then a few minutes more passed and the woman and my son-in-law came back. The woman said we had dirtied the room. Really? We were there for about 2 minutes and knew it was not going to work. When asked about the holes, she said it was just the rats (plural) and they had put tissues in the hole for that reason. Rats?! We were told, “It’s the jungle.” Uh, no it’s not. The room, they argued, is the standard room and we should have paid the higher price for the better room. We explained that we were not complaining about the size of the room, but our concern was of the cleanliness of the room. Also, when showing them the pictures on Agoda, they said we should have known those were “old photos.” What? It was, we explained, more like false advertisement and that they should update the photos so people knew what to expect. We wanted to take pictures, but they said no. By this time, the man had reached a point that started to make us uncomfortable. A few of us had already witnessed his hands balling up and was quite agitated. We called tuk tuk driver who had given us his card and spent the next hour calling several hotels to see if they had three rooms available, which were not easy to find because of the holiday, and driving to some of them to ask if we could see their rooms because we did not want to be fooled by pictures again. *My daughter and son-in-law are fluent In Khmer. The other three, including me, have been learning the language for 10+ years.

Came here for our anniversary. Beautiful large pool was the highlight. We arrived as the only guests here so the restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner and there was no buffet breakfast as booked. Limited menu at the pool bar was all that was offered. That became an issue when a tremendous thunderstorm broke out at dinner time. So they opened the restaurant just for us. HORRIBLE food. How could any food be fresh if no one eats here? The prawns tasted very old. For breakfast they have a 16 year old girl doing the cooking who does not understand English. Well done eggs is the most that she can handle. The front desk staff doesn't speak much English either. Good luck there. As one review stated ”poor hotel management” But, they don't care. The Staff simply does not care. The room was beautiful but filthy when you looked under the bed and under the couch cushions. The dead lizard was left in the tub for days until we removed it. Worst of all on Saturday and Sunday, the ”special guests” arrive. Three or four carloads of families. They are not staying there. They just bring in a bunch of local families to use the pool for the day. Babies without swim diapers using the adult pool. Unsanitary. These ”special guests” make a mess, ruin the private atmosphere and then leave. Then another 4 carloads arrive the next day. Again, they are not even staying at the resort. Again, the management could care less about the paying guests. The gym and the spa smelled like an an old moldy gym locker. No one ever used it. Spa? What Spa? Whatever you do, enjoy the pool when the special guests are not there, and please go eat at the crab market.

I love the whole stay. The staff is well trained, professional. Warm welcome with the homemade taramind juice. The food is fantastic and creative. The architecture is full of history. You felt like indulging in the Cambodia culture. Every stone , pot has some story to tell if you ask. The yoga and the teacher is the best. I came with restless mind and left with a peaceful mind. I still feel the calm and balance after checking out the property a few days later. Many techniques that you learn from there can reapply to your daily life. If you feel stressed, anxious, restless... that's the best place to be.

The staff we amazing! 5 star service. We are expats from Canada and we are always looking for the best places on a budget and this place was great. It was a quieter week for them so the breakfast buffet was A la carte instead which was a plus. Pool is huge and clean. Happy Hour from 4-8 gets you mocktails or cocktails for 2.5$ a drink. Gym and Sauna there too! We wanted a taxi to town could not get one so one of the staff just dropped us off!

A large hotel with not much around it. The staff were helpful and friendly and the Manager spoke good English. The swimming is large, clean and we give it 10/10! The room was spacious and clean. The only downside really was the fact that it was very quiet with only 5 rooms out of a possible 80 were booked during our overnight stay. We only used the hotel for one night as crossing over into Vietnam the following day. As other reviews have said the restaurant does have a canteen feel, unfortunately we were the only ones in it, it the food we had was ok. We feel a bar/lounge would be a welcome and warm addition, although you could order from the restaurant but it lacked in atmosphere. We would stay again if we needed a hotel when passing through Cambodia and Vietnam.

MMaxx XThe resort is awesome and the staff is very attentive. Guests are really taken care of and the place is very well maintained.
The only issue for all the area of Kep is the “beautification” project that is going on at the moment which is basically covering all the beach front for hundreds of meters with soil so all the resorts now have no beach or access to the sea, only a sad land of brown soil
GGuest UserThis place is divine. Very small (I think only 8 rooms) and no it’s not on the waterside (but that’s a good thing). This place is about a 15 min walk to the crab market, 10 min to the national park, 10 min walk to sailing club … note there is no “town” as such so don’t look for being “in town”. For westerners there is no 711 or shopping street. It’s just one big food stalls and hammocks. But Tara lodge is unique. Beautiful pool, huge rooms, amazing restaurant and the staff (Jim especially) cannot do enough for you. We were here for 2 nights and we were the only guests (Cambodian election). We are in our 60’s from Australia and we walked 8km or more around Kep national park. There is a “convenience” store at end of the street which sells everything but the wine and beer at the hotel was great. Food was divine. The chocolate fondue… don’t share! 😀
GGuest UserFive star service, four star comfort at three star prices - you really can’t go wrong. Located barely a five minute walk up from the crab market and on a quiet hillside road, you really any do much better location-wise either. Marie is a fabulous host; the chalets are comfortable and the F&B offering is superb, most especially breakfast which is taken upstairs with a sea-view. A great boutique resort and one of Kep’s best - regardless of your budget.
SSergei MozolevExcellent bungalow hotel. We had a separate, spacious house with a terrace. The room and shower room are large and comfortable, the mattress on the bed is comfortable. A whole bunch of pillows. Gorgeous pool overlooking Kep National Park. There are a lot of green spaces on the territory. Fruit trees that constantly drop mangoes. The owner of the hotel, a sociable person, answered all questions and organized a transfer to Ha Tien. We checked in immediately upon arrival at 11 a.m. without additional waiting and payment. We planned for one night, but liked the hotel so much that we stayed for more. The food and drinks at the hotel are delicious. There is a large villa for rent on the territory. The market prepares live seafood 10 minutes away. 1 kg of large shrimp 7 bucks, be sure to try the crabs.
Quiet location - easy access if you have a motorbike or a car. Swimming pool was all good with a good design for small children. Green environment with also a lot of plants. The bathroom was of a small design and the lighting inside wasn't sufficient. Included breakfast had a limited choice especially when it comes to healthy options (vegan/plant-based) - but this we see in most places in SE-Asia - at least there was a fruit option... We thought the staff could be slightly more attentive.
GGuest UserAs an Expat- I visited over Pchum Ben. It was lovely. If you need a place to stay in Kep, check out this place. Amazing staff, great location, peaceful and wonderful food! I would stay again if I ever find myself in Kep! Great work! Only downside- limited food options from in resort dinning- but this is due to covid.
