"Loved forces manor. Loved the communal eating areas, vibrant furniture, military aspects and prep areas. Loved our room- best nights sleep of the week of walking, due to many windows and through flow of air. And the views were stunning. Tony and team - well done for all you are doing. It is a fabulous space."

McInnes House Hotel ★★★

📍 Newtonmore Rd, Kingussie

"We chose Kingussie because we wanted a quiet stay and stumbled on this hotel by chance. It was a real fortune! The hotel has a lot of charme and character. It is quiet, the food is plentiful if you choose to dine in and the staff very friendly and kind. A special mention goes to Peter, who gave us very good advice on places to visit, and to a very nice, very young apprentice waiter whose name I do not know!"

Duke Of Gordon Hotel ★★★
"The location of the hotel is quite convenient, the staff's service attitude is good! But the facilities in the room are not ideal! First, when I booked a room from Trip.com, the fee I paid was a "premium king double room", but after arriving at the hotel, the store even downgraded me and arranged your "standard twin room" for me, return Some in-room bathroom shower is broken, the employee did not change the room for me, just briefly handled it."

Avondale House ★★★
"PROS: Central location in Kingussie. CONS: Absolutely filthy. Given a room with a ‘private bathroom’ which was down the hall…. A bin that was emptied rather than given a new bag with remnants of the previous occupiers rubbish in it. The entryway was full of the owner’s rubbish and personal belongings. The female owner had to put fresh bedding on our sheets as there was a mysterious brown stain on it, which she did do happily. Asked for an extra towel to be met with ‘you should have enough’ from the male owner. Checked out the SAME night and went to the Cairngorm Hotel, blissful and CLEAN. When my partner gave back the keys, owner didn’t even ask what was wrong! Avoid at all costs, wouldn’t sleep here let alone eat breakfast."

"I went on a hiking trip with my dad. One of the owners gave us advise for several hiking routes and for places to grab a bite for diner. The Rooms we’re really nice and the breakfast was wonderful. The couple that is running the place are the nicest people you could wish for during your stay."

Forces Manor ★★★
"A group of us from our first Tp in Germany have now decided to have regular meet ups because this apart from basic training is where our army family began. So Forces Manor was in a fantastic location with lots to do in the area. Tony the owner of the manor is trying to expand some more of its site to facilitate other avenues. The reception rooms are decorated in military pictures and memorabilia and very spacious. The kitchen is very large to allow large groups to be able to cook. The bar is to be stocked by yourself and clearly as veterans or serving members don’t find that too hard to do 😉. Tony does live on site and is extremely friendly and helpful, he has a pup Labrador Coda who is also extremely friendly. We’ve already planned our next stay there. Top marks Tony on what your trying and in my honest opinion achieving."

McInnes House Hotel ★★★
"I stayed for seven nights and ate in the hotel every evening. The hotel was quiet at night. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable and spacious. The food was well cooked and I enjoyed every meal. The hotel is handily situated on the main Kingussie high street, close to the shops, and parking at the hotel is easy. I would return."
