"We stayed here for 2 nights to go skiing in Geto Kogen. The hotel was newly renovated and very clean, much like a business hotel. Hotel rooms size are decent which can fit 2 snowboard bags and a luggage. There is an indoor onsen at the basen ment which was value added."

"If you’re arriving by bus the hotel is located in the other side of the Station. It looks close to the JR station but it’s indeed a 10 mins walk. You cannot go though the JR station since there are gates. The staff are helpful and friendly."

Semi Onsen
"Traditional style onsen in the countryside. Slightly old looking but very comfortable with good amenities and friendly staff. It’s located close to the Geto kogen ski slopes, a short drive from Kitakami. On google maps it’s only written in Japanese - 瀬美温泉. Next to the river so you can enjoy river views from your room or the outdoor bath (rotemburo). There are two small private baths and you reserve one included in the price. If you want to use it more than once it costs an extra ¥500. It cost ¥34,000 for a night in a room with a river view with breakfast and dinner included. It was good value as we paid ¥44,000 for a similar onsen in Yamagata. I was able to book directly on their website. Highly recommended."

"The location is great as it's just right across the JR station. I stayed at 4 different hotels and i love their breakfast the most among the four hotels as they have mixed grain rice and fresh juices. They have two menus and swap it everyday so it's not that bad if you have longer stay, and I stayed 5 nights. Free parking is included. Room is a bit small but still sufficient to lay out my snowboard luggagage and still have space to walk around the room."

"The TV's battery was low and I couldn't change the channel while in bed. Also, the TV remote didn't have a timer, so I was worried I'd fall asleep and leave it on until morning, which kept me awake. Maybe there was a control but I just didn't know how to operate it? There was a buffet as a group was staying, but for 2,000 yen, there were very few dishes and I couldn't get coffee, so I felt it was very disappointing and expensive. I've stayed at other Route Inns, but this was the first time I'd experienced such dissatisfaction."

"Suijin Onsen Yumoto Higashikan. This is the only inn in Suijin Onsen, and I used it for a day trip. The bathing fee is 400 yen for the indoor bath only. The hot spring water flows freely from a round rock spout. It is a little hot and has a slight egg-like taste. There is a plentiful supply of water, and it flows directly from the source. It's a great hot spring."
