"It feels like a brand new 8 villa resort. Or just perfectly maintained. A warm welcome at the pier for a complimentary 25 minute ride to the resort. Welcomed as if we were royals, by Bambie and her team at the resort. The villa had everything you wished for. A plunge pool with jacuzzi. An amazing sunrise view. And tasteful furniture and amazing bed. Every day the staff made sure it was spic and span. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. During our stay there was limited occupancy, but the resort was fully operational. The beach bar was open and so was the restaurant. Their Thai Seafood salad plus extra white rice was to die for: a light, but tasteful dinner.  Nothing to complaint we’re already looking forward to a next stay. Thanks Barbie and team, we wish you well!"

The child-free atmosphere is peaceful and quiet enough to enjoy the music of the island's natural wildlife. Then theres the villas. We stayed in a treehouse villa, and my only complaint is that they did not force me to book more nights. The 2- story treehouse catered to my inner child and gave it the biggest, most luxurious hug it has ever felt. We will be back, and it will undoubtedly be for much longer next time."

"Fictional Mad Men ad man Don Draper once mused, “I keep going places and ending up where I’ve already been.” Even the most jaded of global jetsetters, however, will not feel this sentiment at the Six Senses Yao Noi. This property is sui generis. Back in 1998, Swiss developers Germing Frey saw something others had overlooked: a former rubber plantation on the untouched island Koh Yao Noi, one of the 42 islands in the scenic Phang Nga Bay, was perfectly situated to build a resort. First operated as a Kempinski property, in 2008 this property became the Six Senses Yao Noi. With no operations in the United States, many Americans are unfamiliar with this flagship IHG brand, although an upcoming outpost is in development in New York’s Hudson Valley. This is a resort situated in the jungle and biophilia abounds. Although it is easily accessible by boat, it is an unspoiled world apart from the mass tourism of Phuket. With this comes welcome residents like majestic Oriental Pied Hornbills (one almost alighted on me as I was splashing about in my villa’s personal pool) and menaces like nasty mosquitos. Although the property does mosquito abatement thrice weekly, I suggest you apply the provided repellant and keep the mosquito coils sparked up, or you may find tell-tale red welts accompanying you on vacation. In particular, if you choose to undertake the complimentary guided kayak tour of the mangrove forest (delightful), make sure you apply repellent to your ankles and sunblock to the tops of your feet (lesson learned) as you won’t be shod. And speaking of the jungle, there are a tremendous number of trees that shed leaves more quickly than a New England hillside in October. Yet you will never hear the unwelcome whine of a leaf blower or snarl of a chainsaw. All of the pathways are immaculately maintained by a team of gardeners who work tirelessly to keep the place pristine. To give a sense of the velocity of leaf shedding, on my departure day, the portion the path shared with an adjacent villa along with its branched path were swept leaf free while the groundskeepers waited to sweep the spur to my villa until closer to the arrival time of the next occupant lest they simply have to start sweeping all over again. The density of foliage is such that when the property describes the view of the “Hideaway Pool Villa” as “Jungle,” you should believe it. You might only be a couple yards from another villa or 50 yards from the ocean but you will not be able to see either of them. It is complete privacy. If a room with a view is important to you (and there are some rooms with boffo views, including the most spectacular of them all appropriately and simply named “The View”), make sure you reserve an appropriate room category. All of the one-to-four bedroom villas are spacious, vibrantly decorated and filled with a confounding collection of switches controlling everything from lighting to fans to air conditioning. The plot offers a lot of privacy (almost full/perfect privacy), and a magnificent view over the sea: wow! the sunrise is just amazing from the garden, or from your bed ;) The restaurant down at Yoa Noi beach resort was really nice and the food was high quality: we enjoyed every meal there, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is very friendly and helpful. And restaurant prices very affordable. And there's always a buggy with driver available to take you up to your tent/villa, or down to the restaurant, spa or beach. The main pool and beach were enjoyable too. And the spa was very nice also. We loved the friendly, sweet staff that was so nice, helpful and accommodating. But, surprisingly, after staying at Laguna Villas Boutique Hotel, I am genuinely at a loss for words to describe how wonderful our experience was. From the moment we arrived, the entire team welcomed us with such warmth and personally took the utmost care of us throughout our stay. There isn't one particular person to mention—the credit truly belongs to the whole team. Our 3-year-old granddaughter was absolutely delighted when the staff remembered her favourite breakfast every morning—a boiled egg with bread and butter. It was such a small gesture, but for us, it meant so much. ❤️ The villas were exceptionally well equipped. In fact, there were so many thoughtful facilities and comforts that it is difficult to describe them all. Everything was beautifully maintained, comfortable and spotlessly clean. And then there was the beach—possibly one of the cleanest beaches we have ever experienced. Just about 30 metres from the property, with beautiful canopy-style seating right at the edge of the sea, it was simply wonderful. We did have lunch and dinner at a few beachfront restaurants during our stay, but honestly, the quality of food at Laguna Villas surpassed many of them. But perhaps the most touching moment came after our very first night. My son and daughter looked at me and said: “Why, Dad? Why didn’t you plan a longer stay here? We don’t want to leave so soon!” That, for me, says everything. And then came the checkout. As we were leaving, the entire team came out to say goodbye. We were genuinely emotional, with tears in our eyes, wishing only that we had planned a longer stay. Some hotels give you a room.​ Some give you a beautiful holiday. Have been there in Six Senses and Coastal escape and to say the truth the ratio of price and quality in Purana is much better. Very tasty food (be careful with a spicy dishes if you are not professional spicy lover). Tips- take hill villa 1 or 2 or pool villa with sea view. Take the 5 island tour to have a perfect swim experience in crystal water. And please remember that territory of Yao noi island is not the place for swim lovers cause it’s really hard to find good beach on the island. But in other way - it’s impossible to get same view and happy feeling as you can get there. Definitely will go back cause our 25 years wedding anniversary was perfect and we want to repeat. I really love the hotel's wooden structural design; it makes you feel more connected to nature, less industrialized. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, with a rich variety and delicious taste. The hotel rooms were cleaned to the highest possible standard to prevent insects and ants. Since it was the off-season, several parts of the hotel were undergoing maintenance, so some rooms might experience noise during the day. The latest checkout time is 12 PM, it would have been perfect if a later checkout was an option."

"This hotel is located on a side street off the main road. We particularly enjoyed the friendly welcome. We had a standard room, which was very clean, had a safe, and fresh towels were provided daily if desired. It was a good size, and we were lucky enough to get a corner room, which meant we had an extra window and a small private terrace. The hotel is right on the beach, but also has two pools. Additionally, the hotel offers a free shuttle service to what is supposedly one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The hotel restaurant offers a very extensive breakfast buffet; the only downside is that the coffee machine takes a while. The food selection at the restaurant is also excellent. For those who are very sensitive to noise: since there's a pier directly on the hotel beach, it's often used by scooter riders to zoom around – it's actually quite fun to try yourself! :) I generally recommend always having earplugs for Thailand (also for speedboats) – we were able to sleep perfectly well."

Special thanks for that ❤️ We also had dinner at the hotel, and everything was delicious. The pool is always uncrowded, and the bar is open.
