Blue Bay Resort - Access to Pool and Beach-Phuket & Krabi ★★★★★

📍 89/1-3 Moo 7, Phunai, Koh Yao, Phru Nai, Koh Yao Yai

"Great staff! Excellent facilities, large pools long enough to swim laps right on your backdoor (or a little stair from your balcony right into the pool). Great breakfast with restaurant in front of the beach. Nice beach with hundreds of meters of sand during low tide."

Thiwson Beach Resort
9.3 (48 reviews)

Thiwson Beach Resort ★★★

📍 58/2 Moo 4, T.Ko Yao Tai, A.Ko Yao, Phangnga, Koh Yao Yai

"Generally a nice hotel with decent food, nice pool and a beach with beautiful views. Cottage is fine if not afraid of insects. The biggest letdown was actually the staff, they never smiled, they never acted polite and seemed to be depressed. For a beach resort you would expect at least some general happiness with greetings."

Cape Kudu Hotel, Koh Yao Noi

Cape Kudu Hotel, Koh Yao Noi ★★★★★

📍 Tambon Ko Yao Noi, Chang Wat, Koh Yao Noi

"Wonderful experience during our stay in Koh Yao Noi. The staff was extremely helpful and lovely, always available and we felt warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived. Great location, close to (walking distance) really nice restaurants, cafes and massages spots. The closest beach is in front of the reception."

Royal Yao Yai Island Beach Resort ★★★★★

📍 128, Loh Pa-Red Beach, Ko Yao District, Phru Nai, Koh Yao Yai

"1. Great location with beach, pool area and lots of space 2. Close to other restaurants on beach 3. Personell could have been more helpful in travel options when leaving the island 4. Service for food was ok 5. Towels should be made easier available in pool area 6. Bed was great and room was good. Toilet a bit dated Taking all the above into account we had a great stay and we were really happy! Would recommend."

Baan Taranya Koh Yao Yai Resort Hotels in Koh Yao

Baan Taranya Koh Yao Yai Resort

"This was our second stay, and our already positive impression was confirmed once again. The staff are all extremely friendly and always ready to help. There are two pools (some rooms have direct access to the first pool). Everything is well-maintained, and the breakfast is delicious. The hotel is located right on the beach and has a few sun loungers available. The beach is expansive, and you can see the most beautiful sunrises from here if you can get up early enough (ideally, start an hour before sunrise – you'll see the most amazing colors in the sky). There are plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as options for massages and scooter rentals. The hotel offers one free excursion a day to Laem Haad Beach, which is a must-see. Tip: Renting a scooter gives you the flexibility to watch the stunning sunset from Laem Haad Beach (stay a little longer there, as the sky becomes incredibly colorful after sunset). Koh Yao Yai has strong tides. At low tide, the beach in front of the hotel, like everywhere else, doesn't look so inviting, simply because there's no water and it appears rather desolate. However, you can take beautiful walks on the mudflats and enjoy the wonderful wildlife with all the crabs and sand dollars, as well as the incredibly beautiful scenery. We had another wonderful time here. Many thanks to the entire team."

Sabai Corner Bungalows Hotels in Koh Yao

Sabai Corner Bungalows

"Let me start by saying that we took a two-week trip to Thailand and stayed in other bungalows nestled in the forest. We weren't expecting the comforts of a five-star hotel, but at least we were expecting an enclosed accommodation where we could rest at night in the middle of a forest full of animals. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. It should be noted that these aren't bungalows, but huts open on all sides, allowing insects and animals to enter from anywhere. The bed was surrounded by a mosquito net, but it had holes in some places: after two minutes, the bed was covered in mosquitoes. The accommodation was at the top of the mountain (inconvenient to reach and without lighting). The bathroom was outside the room, downstairs. We didn't feel at all comfortable, so we asked to change rooms, but they were all occupied. We then decided to look for another accommodation, which isn't easy on such a small island where it's already pitch black by 6 p.m. The hotel offered no help, let alone a refund, zero, even though we had paid for two nights' stay. They called us a taxi and we left. The structure and treatment were terrible."

Samsam YAO Noi - Andaman Magic & Art Villas

"Amazing place to stay. Such lovely people. Our room was second to none with all the required facilities. All the staff were fantastic especially Golf who looked after us for the whole duration. Nothing was too much trouble. She organised our transfer from and to the hotel. Definitely recommend this place."

Artisan Koh YAO Yai Hotels in Koh Yao

Artisan Koh YAO Yai

"This is a wonderful hotel. It feels like it's too big but in a good way, so you have plenty of space on the large resort basically for yourself. Room is quite big and clean, service is good too."

Six Senses Yao Noi Hotels in Koh Yao

Six Senses Yao Noi

"Several years ago, I gave Six Senses Yao Noi five stars. I returned expecting nostalgia; instead … I am a regular Six Senses guest because its formula is exactly what I crave after busy London life: nature-led, rustic luxury, traditional wooden villas, private pools and uninterrupted ocean views. The scenery here remains the undisputed star. Phang Nga Bay has aged magnificently. Unfortunately, parts of the resort have not. Rustic can still be polished. This time, the property felt noticeably tired and dated rather than deliberately understated. Our Deluxe Ocean Pool Villa was spacious, secluded and wonderfully atmospheric, with a large deck, outdoor shower and complete privacy. However, basic updates are overdue: ageing power sockets and switches, dated shower heads with slow water pressure and television, and a ceiling fan that the cap appeared to be coming loose. None of these improvements would compromise the resort’s natural character; they would simply restore the “luxury” part of rustic luxury. The arrival experience also felt more like the opening scene of The White Lotus than heartfelt hospitality: management and staff assembled at the jetty, smiles delivered, box ticked. Our assigned GEM—Guest Experience Maker—did not appear, and another employee handled our arrival. Our villa was understandably not ready before the official 3 p.m. check-in, and a day room was provided. However, at 3 p.m., our GEM was occupied elsewhere and again did not appear. A question raised to this staff member during check-in remained unanswered the following day; when we asked our GEM directly, she bluntly said the other staff member would “get back to us.” I thought the entire point of having a GEM was not having to chase the rest of the jewellery box. The general manager greeted us on arrival, then disappeared from the series entirely. A brief presence at breakfast or dinner would have made the welcome feel more genuine and less ceremonial. Food was generally excellent, particularly the Thai cooking. Nithan, the Southern Thai restaurant, was delicious, although it only opens on alternate evenings with The Living Room. The mosquito-repellent incense occasionally overpowered the food while apparently failing its only job as we were still surrounded by flies attracted to the lights. Breakfast remained a highlight, especially the à la carte menu. The buffet selection felt more limited than at other Six Senses resorts, and the noodle soup was rather sweet for my taste. The complimentary all-day ice cream, however, was an excellent touch. Even the spa disappointed, which genuinely surprised me given my consistently good experiences with Six Senses. My massage felt procedural rather than attentive as though each stroke, pressure point and movement was being completed from a checklist rather than delivered with care. Six Senses Yao Noi still occupies one of the most spectacular settings imaginable, but spectacular scenery should not be expected to distract inde"

Dan's Koyao Retreat Hotels in Koh Yao

Dan's Koyao Retreat

"If you want a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Phuket, this little piece of paradise is almost perfect. Staff were great (Sin was very friendly and helpful), room was clean and spacious, bed large and comfortable, great views, breakfast, pool etc. Room for improvement: the shower was decent but could have been better, the small white desk/bedside table was not comfortable and didn't really fit in with the rest of the decor in the room, and I didn't get a reply to the email I sent prior to my arrival asking about transfers to the property. Overall though, still great and we would have loved to stay longer."

Artisan Koh YAO Yai Handcraft Beachfront Villas Hotels in Koh Yao

Artisan Koh YAO Yai Handcraft Beachfront Villas

"There were a lot of ants in the room, and the room itself was not cleaned well. The girl at the reception was friendly, helped me rent a bike. The hotel is authentic, interesting design, but I will not come again."

Laguna Villas Boutique Hotel Hotels in Koh Yao

Laguna Villas Boutique Hotel

"An absolutely magnificent hotel with incredible charm, great serenity and very classy staff, very welcoming and smiling. Splendid, very pleasant rooms with plenty of space and very, very well equipped. A magnificent swimming pool but very cold in the light. Really a recommended hotel and ultimately not very far from the night markets by tuk-tuk it's not expensive"

Elixir Resort Koh YAO Yai

"A peaceful place on a private beach. Quite secluded if you can’t drive a scooter. But you can do trips to other islands from hotel if you fancy some adventure."

Koyao Island Resort Hotels in Koh Yao

"The best beach on the whole island of Koh Yao Noi. Private 220meters long beach and its view. I appreciate the help of all the staff."

YAO Bada Badoo Boutique Resort Hotels in Koh Yao

YAO Bada Badoo Boutique Resort

"We stay at the resort for 3 nights, overall good experience except the hot water is just too hot and it has no control to lower the temperature of the hot water and also the water pressure is low. This a good little boutique resort to chill and relax and to meet other travelers. The services are very good. The foods are excellent and tasty."

Jaiyen Eco Resort Hotels in Koh Yao

Jaiyen Eco Resort

"We stayed at this hotel with our children. We originally planned to stay for three nights, but ended up staying only two because the hotel was completely inconvenient. The food was terrible. We were charged for a bottle of wine that we didn't drink. The staff even threatened us, saying they wouldn't call us a taxi if we didn't pay the bills. I'll skip over some minor details: there were no ashtrays on the balcony. The breakfast was terrible. Even a simple Pad Thai wasn't good enough. The balcony wasn't cleaned. The electricity went out for two hours the night before, with no backup generator. In short, this place shouldn't be called a hotel, but rather a scam."

9 Hornbills Tented Camp Hotels in Koh Yao

9 Hornbills Tented Camp

"After weeks travelling through Vietnam and Thailand, we were so looking forward to a few days and nights of luxury and somewhere to properly relax and rejuvenate. We had an amazing Panorama Tented Camp with pool overlooking the spectacular limestone islands of Phang Nga Bay and Krabi in the distance. The accommodation (glamping with dark wooden floors, a super comfy four poster bed, bath with a view and an outdoor shower) was even better than the photos online. The service was wonderful and staff incredibly helpful and friendly. We organised a half day boat trip to visit Hong Island and other nearby sites, allowing time to explore beaches, coves and do a little snorkelling. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The food was also great. We ate at the sister beach resort (Koyao Island Resort) but also ventured out to nearby bars and restaurants which were greta value and offered tasty food. We both also enjoyed an incredible full body deep tissue massage in resort. I would happy return and would recommend 9 Hornbills Tented Camp (and Koyao Island Resort) to anyone wanting picturesque luxury away from the more crowded places like Phuket. Overall, it was great value for money and just what we needed before continuing our island hopping."

Royal Yao Yai Island Beach Resort ★★★★★
"A lot of room for improvement. Service - check in was chaotic, staff members almost too scared to look up to see who is there for them to help. Our room wasn’t ready which was fine as we were a little early. Came back a 3 hours later, 3 members of staff free all talking amongst themselves.. again no one wanted to look up. Eventually someone acknowledged me and got our room sorted. Beach bar - massively understaffed considering it seemed to be catering for the whole resort, on the beach, by the pool, the grass lawn and the beach restaurant itself! We stayed 3 days and service was slow and lacked organisation and urgency. no one seemed to know which food was for what table, Missing items etc. It’s a shame as food was good and place has so much potential! Breakfast was very much the same - not enough plates, Bowls, glasses etc. tables were slow being cleared. Eg. We had asked for a drinking glass and 1 was brought out instead of bringing enough to fill restock the area for others. Great location - beautiful sunset, has everything you need around. Convenience shops, restaurants etc. For a 5 star resort we were disappointed especially comparing to other resorts a long the same strip of beach. We saw little to no management presence to combat some of these issues or at least see them first hand and solve some of these issues."
