The hotel is located in a birch forest. In late March, the snow was still thick. It was so nice to take a bath facing the snow. The abalone and venison for dinner were great.

nice hotel
It's very close to the Hanazono ski resort. The room is large and the menu is different every day. The waiter is very enthusiastic. The only hiccup is a reception that he didn't know how to adapt to. Everything else was perfect.

A truly wonderful experience. The setting is private and the rooms feel nestled in the woodland. The service is friendly, polite and attentive. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the indoor and outdoor spring pools were a treat. The food was innovative and tasty with beautiful ingredients. The hotel itself is made for calm and relaxation. Would love to visit again!

This is an exceptionally wonderful ryokan. The rooms (villas) are large and beautiful, the public areas are full of peace and art, and the private indoor and outdoor onsen are deeply relaxing. A small issue we had was resolved quickly and professionally. Cuisine at breakfast and dinner is delicious, innovative and a delight to enjoy. Service from all staff is wonderful: sincere and kind. Would not hesitate to recommend and stay again.

Simply amazing place. Might not be for everyone, but we found it to be a very special and unique place that we would love to visit again. Great for those who appreciate beautiful design and still elegance. Worth noting is that the food served is a traditional japanese meal for dinner (getting a more western breakfast was a very easy request). The ryokan was very accommodating in making some adjustments to the menu - but from a western perspective it is very authentic and might not suite everyone. Trying the BBQ room for one evening is highly recommended!

Stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel room is probably one of the fanciest that I’ve stayed in all my travels. Rooms are huge - we paid extra to get a room with a nicer view. We picked the Japanese room - with a futon bed. Initially we thought that the futon would be too thin - but it was amazingly comfortable. Do note that rooms don’t have air conditioning. Floors are heated - which is perfect for winters Meals are very private. Each room is assigned a private dining room , with a beautiful view of the outside. I love how they allow you to take your desserts to the lounge upstairs - where you can have desserts while looking through the binoculars (belonging to the hotel ) - trying to spot the ducks and birds . Service is spot on - and staff will do their best to accommodate any requests that you have. My wife had a minor burn during dinner on the first night - and she was personally attended to by the GM of the hotel, which we really appreciated. The GM also personally sent us off when we checked out after our stay. 3 nights may be too long for guests seeking an adventure - but perfect for someone who just wants some quiet time to relax during their holidays.
