"We booked 6 nights at the ocean front Royal Bungalow (Junior Suite) paying over 700 per night. The room ended up being upstair, with no direct access to the beach as the name beachfront Bungalow implies. It was not worth the money and our experience at the resort was one of the worst. I'm trying to be as fair and constructive as possible, hoping the GM and/or owners of the resort can read and do something about it: 1. More than half the staff didn't seem to be happy doing what they did. This showed through the interactions with us: very polite, but cold and had the wrong energy. Suggestion: treat your staff better, pay them more to make sure they are happy. 2. We arrived as a family of 4, which was communicated via our booking in advance. The resort didn't pull out the sofa to turn it into a bed, not even additional sheet, and pillows. We had to request for help with the sofa bed. The staff showed up at the door handing us those items, no intention to go in to help us set up. We asked specifically for help. He stepped in, with full dirty shoes on, to pull out the sofa, then leave. Suggestion: for the price you charge, this level of service is inadequate. Train your staff better, to take shoes off when stepping in guests' rooms. 3. We noticed how dirty the floor was the moment we stepped inside. I had to wipe it off with some paper (see photos) 4. The room is large, but I don't know why the mini fridge was put inside the toilet, not too far from where people do their business (see photos) 5. The breakfast was TERRIBLE. The 2 included photos show ALL the food there was on our last morning there. ALL processed frozen protein. Just terrible. It was as if the chef made no effort to prepare decent food, or a calculated decision by the ownership to cut operating costs to maximize profit. 6. The car parking lot is always full when we come back late afternoon, because of the nightly Lu'au. 7. And perhaps the worst was when we spoke to the manager about this, she didn't care to hear the details, nor make any attempts to rectify. She just casually offered us to check out early, charging us 2 nights and refunded 4. Maybe that was for the best as we ended up booking at Weilia Marriott for less, despite that resort is much better on many dimensions."

"We really enjoyed our family vacation here. It is about a 10 minute walk to Black rock where you can swim with turtles. The walk is easy and there is plenty of places to eat and drink along the way. The pool and facilities at the Hyatt are really nice. The animals including the birds are a nice touch and fun for kids."

"Hotels on Maui are generally more expensive than those in Honolulu. The surrounding area is a hotel district, the beaches are relatively clean and not crowded. The two-bedroom apartment is spacious, with a kitchen and basic cooking utensils and tableware. It also has a washer and dryer."

"We stayed at the Maui Ocean Club for one week in the Lahaina building. The room was very nice, beds were comfortable, kitchen was big and we had a washer and dryer in the room. There are dinner specials at the Beachwalk on site. We had the prime rib dinner with garlic mashed potatoes and corn for $39. The portions were large so we had enough for lunch the next day. We also tried to order the BBQ dinner special on a different night but they ran out, so the staff suggested we try the Korean fried chicken special, we are glad we did, it was delicious. We had no problem getting chairs by the pool at 8:30am, probably because this was September; but did observe people saving more chairs than needed, other people could have used the extra lounge and chair. The resort has activities on site. Download the MVC app and you can look up the calendar ahead of your arrival. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was one negative experience. My mother rents an electric scooter each time she visits Hawaii. The company drops it off and she has it upon arrival. This time the resort refused to accept it stating that the renter must be present to receive. She lost a day with the scooter and we had to cut our next day short to be on site to receive the scooter. We understand they instituted this new policy a week before we arrived, just wish we would have known."

"We have been spoiled! Our 3 bedroom unit was spacious and had everything we needed. Paula the manager goes out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect. We really liked the location. I felt like we had our own beach. Being able to walk to restaurants was wonderful too. I highly recommend the Lahaina Grill (get your reservations months in advance) In the past we have stayed in Kaanapali and Wailea. I like Puunoa on Baby Beach the best because you're not fighting crowds and it's just so relaxing. We will never stay at a big resort after being spoiled at Puunoa!"
