We were traveling across the country for a move and stopped at the Marriott Denver for a night. We were actually excited about this stop as it was the “nicest” hotel we had booked along our trip. Alas, it was not. By a long shot. Upon check-in, status was not acknowledged, however we were put on the floor for those with status, although the benefits included beyond a lounge we did not use are unknown. We were put in a room a mile down the hallway, with a dog. A mild inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless. Upon entering the room is was sweltering and remained so throughout the stay. The room was old and fairly dingy and the sheets had stains. I could get past all of this, but the real zinger was the parking situation. As we were moving, the car was fairly full of luggage, etc. so when checking in I asked the associate if the parking lot was monitored. The response was that the parking lot is not monitored, nor are there cameras or lights. She then proceeded to say that the area is known for frequent car thefts. Great. So basically the company line is “we know the parking lot isn’t secure, but it’s not our problem”. If you’re saying you know thefts are common, wouldn’t it be fairly simple to at least put cameras up to deter such behavior? There are signs all over the parking lot saying vehicles are left at your risk, but for many, especially those traveling a safe space to park your car is an important feature, and one to be expected at a seemingly nice hotel. Of course we know parking is at our risk, so we moved all luggage into the hotel room a mile away, with zero help or inquiries for assistance even though we were obviously struggling. Unfortunately, this is the worst Marriott we’ve stayed at in some time. Do not recommend.
Very Good
