We stayed at the fabulous Wern Mill caravan park but ventured out to eat. Wandering through Aberaeron we noticed lots of people sitting outside The Castle Hotel so we thought we’d give them a try. The salt beef toasted sandwich with the delicious broccoli side salad was enough to make our day! My daughter had the pork and apple sandwich which came with a pot of gravy to dip! Just delightful! As for the chips?! Best I’ve tasted in a long time. Thank you for one very tasty, gorgeous lunch! Highly recommend

Great spot for a nice cold pint of Stella Artois while watching the world go by. Louise, an amazing host, super efficient and friendly. Made us feel like locals not holidaymakers, taking care of all with ease and flair. You won’t be disappointed. Lovely spot in the sun with an amazing choice of wines and beers and for those wanting a coffee this is the place for you. This is a must stop for all. Full of characters and if you’re a clean freak like me the toilets are spotless. What more can I say. 5stats.

So nice to see this hostelry coming to life again under new management and serving good food. Limited lunch menu but all freshly cooked and extremely reasonably priced. We especially enjoyed the home made coleslaw and recommend the vegetable and humus burger. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Aberaeron.

Amazing place, grate vibe! Kirk's perspective on the Welsh New Zealand vibe is intriguing and worth a visit! 100% coming back! Gate place gate guy and fantastic food and drinks! Service is pretty much the best you'll get within Aberaeron

4 of us . Just popped in for a pint and ended up having food . Between us we had 2 x welsh burgers and chips, chicken burger and chips, veggie burger and chips , they all came with the best coleslaw in mid wales , the quality of the burgers were spot on, fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle (lovely) . There’s a new owner who was very welcoming very friendly and accommodating . Wish we weren’t driving as we’d have stayed for longer for the rugby. A nice touch as there was a free raffle prize of a Fiji rugby shirt on offer . All 4 of us have given a 5 star rating and we’d recommend to anyone wanted a pint and some food or to watch some sports to come here . We will pop back next time we are here .

The new owners have not been there long and are doing a great job as there is a lot they want to do to make improvements in the future but for now, they are working very well with what they took on. Things may not be perfect yet but you get a very warm welcome by people who care and who do their best to help you out. A great venue if you are doing the Coastal Path and with a supermarket next door, you can get your supplies for the next part of your journey. I did not have dinner there but the breakfast is amazing. Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for. Somewhere I would return to.
