Excellent location, facilities (water park, swimming pools, kids club...). It was the high season and the hotel felt not crowded at all. No lines in the water park. Great experience!

Amazing place! All you need and great program for the kids as well - my 5 year old son had a blast! Lots of pools, beautiful beach and The aqua park is an added bonus. Staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Food is excellent! Very clean and well organized. You instantly feel at home! We’ll be back for sure!

I write this view critically as I know I appreciate everything there is to know about a hotel before I spend ridiculous money on booking our family holiday. First thing - this hotel is fantastic for families with kids (not perfect but really good). We always stay at all inclusive places and this is the best one we have stayed at. What’s great: - Water park is amazing, never overly busy and in the uk you would pay a fortune for it and at the hotel its 2 min walk and you can go there as much as you want - The Beach is private to the hotel and again a 2 min walk down from the hotel, never overly mobbed, clean and and shallow waters - A few pools, all nice, the kids will need something to play with as not much to do for them - Kids club :) Maria and her team were really good, they were excellent with the kids and they always came back with some artistic creation. Also a kids disco, our kids are 6-7 and this was perfect but older ones may get bored - Food (for all inclusive) always tasted good and felt like well cooked with reasonable variety, for 2 weeks stay you also get 2 vouchers for their bookable restaurants. You never queue and the hotel never had a feel of being overly full Not great things: - WiFi is non excellent. -This is doubly annoying as the hotel info works off an app and it’s a large complex with a map only on the app! -The location is the middle of nowhere, it’s about 2.5/3hr drive from Kalamata Airport which feels an ordeal. It also makes car hire a no/no as they put a 150km cap on the cars which means you can’t really drive anywhere! -Grecotel’s take on all inclusive is not all inclusive, the ‘other’ restaurants you have to pay for and a number of things on the menu have to be paid for eg. Milkshakes Middle of the road things: - I think the hotel is a little dated but we had a superior family room which was a good size for our age family and we barely noticed but would slightly agree with other reviews I read - the hotel is on a complex of an apartment block and also their Oasis hotel, on a Thursday our kids cub was closed and we had to go to oasis, golf buggies shuttle you around like a mini bus service - Didn’t make much difference to us but not many Brits here I’d say I’m always very critical about our holiday hotels - mainly due to the money they cost! And this is the first one we agree we’d go back to, the only watch out for a second trip would be the ‘not great things’ I mentioned above BUT it was a great holiday and thank you to the hotel mgt and Grecoland team (kids Club)! We have one day to go and readying ourselves for the long trek back to the airport!

The service is excellent. However some parts of the hotel are looking tired and could do with a refurbishment (rooms and pools). The food is good albeit not consistent across all the restaurants. BUT the staff at the Riviera, the Spa and the Water Park (which is a huge draw) are fantastic. A huge thank you to Aggeliki and Marsela at the Spa. My daughter and I were able to treat ourselves to a massage and both therapists were amazing. One of the best full body massages I’ve had and I’ve had a few! My daughter is 12 and was made to feel comfortable and treated to an age appropriate massage (we were in the same room), she loved it. Finally a huge thank you to everyone at the Water Park for creating such a fun atmosphere particularly Alexandros.

I’ve just had the worst holiday experience, which was very distressing for myself and my two girls. Holiday was booked through Jet2. On arrival late, 11.30 pm on 6th August we were met with blank faces as they had no booking for us despite me showing confirmation etc. I had originally booked their sister hotel Luxme Oasis but Jet2 changed it the day before we were due to fly due to over booking! My 2 daughters and I were eventually provided a random room and after some haggling provided some food and drink, curtesy of the hotel. Room was basic and had to ask for an extra bed for my eldest daughter, think they were expecting all three of us to sleep together in the double… None of us slept well as unsure what was happening with our booking. I asked to be provided breakfast as per our all inclusive booking, which they accommodated. Girls and I decided to enjoy the pool and weather as were reassured they would do their best to accommodate us when the manager arrived. Lots of calls between me and the hotel and Jet2. Everyone blaming each other. Eventually given a room, which I thought was for the duration of trip so we unpacked and headed back to the pool, manager called me to say jet2 had now cancelled the booking and we couldn’t stay. The story then changed and was told we were never allocated the room for longer than the day! In my view this was a lie by Riviera! By this point I was very upset, girls crying and all of us in a state. Told we had to leave but that they had found a room for us at another Grecotel! Told that they were moving us to the Filoxenia in Kalamata. Told lovely rooms, but no sandy beach, no kids activities and no water slides - the whole reason I’d booked the Riviera! Told that the hotel was 2 hours away and we had to leave within the next 2 hours. Back to the room to throw everything back in cases and wait for the transfer to the new hotel! The very worst start to any holiday we have ever had! Seriously could not believe this was happening!! My daughters and I were distraught! Finally, arrived at the Filoxenia. Lovely hotel, recently renovated and beautiful room. But pebbly beach, view of a car park, moved me to half board but paid for all inclusive. More back and forth with Jet2 about covering food and drinks as per my original booking! Staff were wonderful and a great boutique hotel, quiet and well maintained, good food, but would never have booked this for my family but not given a choice. All in all both Riviera and Jet2 blamed each other and it was the most awful experience for me and my two girls. I don’t understand how this could have happened… I will never book through Jet2 again nor the Riviera hotel. My advice, check your booking before you fly!

Come expecting a 3 star and you’ll be satisfied. The rooms and pools are very dated and coming apart at the seams. The layout is great and it was likely nice 10 years ago. The front desk staff are truly clueless. The WhatsApp concierge is hapless and can’t solve anything so I really wouldn’t bother. We were delayed by a day but had communicated this with the hotel. We were assured this was no problem and our room was waiting for us…except it wasn’t. Having paid for the room starting on the Saturday we arrived on Sunday to no room. They then tried to put us in a regular room when we’d paid for a family bungalow. It took 4 hours to straighten out. The family bungalow had a nice view but is desperate for an update. The faded curtains were literally half hanging off the track when we walked in. The bath tub drain was jammed and unusable. The beds are old and hard with various dips in the mattress. They don’t give you anything like enough water in the mini fridge. It’s absolutely nothing like 5 star. It’s a 3 star at best. The most disappointing part were the sun loungers. We were told the hotel wasn’t remotely full and yet it was impossible to get a sun lounger unless you claimed one first thing in the morning. People left towels all day and nothing is done to manage them at all. Our kids aren’t tiny but if they were it would have been a nightmare. Two days we couldn’t even get a single sun lounger by the beach or the pool for hours. The music by the oasis pool is awful and too loud. They didn’t pay for the music so it’s all very odd very bad covers of English songs played throughout the hotel. They’d be better off with no music. The kids loved the pool. I’d have loved it if it was a lot cleaner. The drain by the bottom of the steps was always blocked and growing mould and algae in it. There’s no way around it so you get to slosh through that on the way to the pool. Drinks by the pool weren’t worth ordering and they didn’t bother even stirring them most of the time. The kids club was pointless and the worst we’ve encountered. Our 8 year old went to the ‘pool party’ which turned out to be plonking them in the baby splash pool while the staff stared at them and chatted to each other. We rescued her after watching for 15 minutes. The water park is great but again really dated and had lots of paint chips floating in the water and mothers pulling said paint chips out of the mouths of babies. The food in the main buffet was good and varied. The Asian restaurant is dire and the Beef Mendake is worse than a reheated pot noodle. Hot Stone was the star and I’d definitely book that one soon as you can on the app. Cap Voyage is not remotely worth the money. It was a very average meal with the same shambolic service for £350. This hotel has great bones but it’s been left to rot and the service is comedy bad. If you come expecting 3 star with a Benidorm vibe you won’t be disappointed.
