Hotels Near Young Rembrandt Studio in Leiden

We stayed in the Deluxe Apartment which lived up to it's title. Very clean , spacious and with high spec fittings including a Villeroy and Bosch Spa bath. The hotel is very special and has lots of character but more importantly the staff are helpful and charming. Leiden is a special city with so may claims to fame. History , beautiful buildings and canals, lovely shops and masses of great places to eat out. We had a lovely Anniversary in this unique city.

The Hotel is very classic, but the stay was pleasant! The rooms are large and have a small terrace overlooking the sea. The bathroom is spacious and comfortable (the only flaw is the plastic curtain on the shower). We did not test the breakfast (to be paid separately). There is no possibility of parking your car for free and parking in the area is quite expensive! The agreement with the car park that they offered us was also expensive. Overall I would stay here again

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and looks like it will be a super hotel when it’s finished. We were told in advance that there would building work ongoing. Check in took a bit longer than expected but the friendly receptionists advised us they’d only been working there a couple of weeks. We were travelling with friends and we both received a free room upgrade. Our room was fab, clearly one of the newly renovated rooms. Had everything you needed, hairdryer, nice toiletries and a coffee machine with decent coffee. Our friends also had a lovely room but there was a couple of issues with theirs such as a dirty toilet, no shower gel and the shower leaked because the rubber seal/trim hadn’t been fitted to the shower door. It seemed like their room hadn’t been checked before it was passed as suitable for guests. The hotel is about 3.5 miles from the centre of The Hague but we didn’t mind and enjoyed the walk there and back through some very pleasant parkland where the royal palace is situated. Good off street parking at the hotel. Had a nightcap in the pavilion at the back of the hotel, again very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again though not sure we’ll get it for such a good price next time once all the work has been completed!

Visited the park and restaurant Park is amazing . Really loved it. Restaurant i cant say it is the best but vrry friendly staff The Live food, I tried the lamb and it was very delicious. From the buffet , the best part eas ice creams, deserts , fruits and Curry sauced prawns were the best. A lot of choise in the dinner. Snack bar ( very Dutch and kids and youngster will love it ) Live show, Sate Skewers ( with Sate sauce ) Steak, ( pepper sauce ) Lamb, Pork options and chicken dishes, Salad bar is very European, mix of everything Starters, Cheese , Sushi choices , Mostly immigtant works thats cool to see and they r super helpful Saw two Chef , they love to help people Diner was too busy , good to go early From balcony u can see Pink Flamingos, after a time their voice can b annoyed They need good aspiration system for Grill, if no balcony door open than all over stinks and so much smoke in the air. All staff helpful and good Would rate the food 3,5 stars of 5 Staff : 5 stars Park and scenery is 5 stars

Hotel located in a small alley close to a public parking lot, very easy to access. Rooms are on the second floor and has no elevator which is a minor nuisance as the receptionist (a young lady) was very kind and helped us with our luggage going upstairs. Room is big and clean with a kitchenette equipped with tea, coffee, fridge and other amenities. As it is tucked inside an alley, there isn't much sunlight. Hotel is very centrally located and close to many restaurants and bars so there could be some noise at night especially during the weekend. I am sure the hotel is aware of it and provides earplugs as a default in the room. :-) We had an early flight in and had notified the hotel before hand. They said they would try to accommodate and eventually checked us in 6 hours prior to the scheduled check-in time at no cost which I really appreciate. It's a nice cozy place, I recommend it.

Great hotel, nice employee, fantastic service, phenomenal experience. I stayed there with a friend for a week, each day we left the hotel at the morning/noon before 11 am. Afterwards we got a cleaned room with new bathtubs and also the kitchen was refilled. The personal was cool. Would like to stay a bit longer

After reading the various negative reviews (after booking my trip!) I was mildly apprehensive about my stay here for a number of nights. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel very clean, although the check-in process was a time-consuming.mThe room iI was given was small but quite acceptable for my needs and quite clean. Once up in the room, I tried to call down to reception to clarify a minor issue. They ignored my calls. I rang 3-4 times over a period of 20-30 minutes, on one attemnpt, letting it ring for up to 10 minutes. No answer. I eventually found the information I needed in the small info-sheet after looking carefully. The next day, taking a day off from business, I wanted to stay in my room to write emails and so on, so I put out the 'please make up my room now sign at 8 am and went out for breakfast. There were 4 or 5 people in housekeeping on the floor, who, through the course of the day as I came and went, they, seemed have decided they should be doing every single room EXCEPT mine. I has to go to to reception again around lunch time as I found my key disabled. It took the gentleman on reception 25 minutes (I time this) just to be able to create me a new key, and there was no explanation other than ”the system is playing up”. Also at this time, I specifically asked if they would ensure my room was made up and I was assured he would contact housekeeping to make sure it would be done. I went out to lunch. I returned just before three, and the room remained unattended to. I went to reception, this time to register complain, and was quite brusquely told ”this is jsut because the housekeeping staff are busy”. Obviously so!! BNusy all day long doing every room apart from the only room with the ”please make up my room now ” sign hung on the door!! I asked to speak to the manager and was rebuffed. It was clear from the evasive response to my requrest that the receptionist did not want me to speak to the mana gera. After I said I really did want to speak to the manager I was told she wa s busy but would be along shortly. I expected him to do something to contact the manager such as pick up the phone or go to find her, instenad he simply started to ignore me and began to deal with another customer, which behaviour I found most discourteous. When I remonstrated about this he irritable stated taht ”I'm dealing with your problem by email -- you just can't see what I am writing on my screen”. 15 mins of this silent treatment passed I asked again for the manager and was told she was too busy to talk to me. I returned to my room, and housekeeping finally arrived at 1500. These service failings would be incompatible with a 3* rating hotel, but the ket to this thing is that these annoyances are all people related. it is not any indivudual issue-- these things are routine, and dealt with elegantly in even the cheapest of hotels. I expect more from a so-called 5 start property. I It is a real pity as the latest own

We arrived spontaneously (a day before booked) in the Netherlands and checked in with our dog. The reception was very nice and in the room was already a dog shell with ball and leckerlies ready. -Oh, so, we were in the old building on the ground floor. The room size was ok. However, any deposition area for a bag and a box was not there, just an open cord with a few clothing sticks. Also in the bathroom there were only 2 hooks for towels and unfortunately there was no heating in the bathroom too .... that was quite cold. Unfortunately, there were also sticks in the bed linen, I suppose, they weren't gone out at the washing ...not nice. The beds are not just comfortable, but we are otherwise water beds, think we're in the mouth. The outer area was a little ”scrambled”, the rental bikes were more or less in the drop in front of the door. -In fact, everything that could be made more attractive with very little effort. Yes, I can only agree with my previous speakers, it is very bright. But the location is unslaughterable, about 100 m and there is already on the beach and to the pier, it may be 5 to 10 minutes walking distance. -But hey, we paid € 180 for 2 nights and I think the price is correct and I don't want to make big. I can't judge breakfast we were outdoor breakfast. Because we had super weather, and yet we were just to shower and sleep there, it was really okay for me and could live with it. -I think it's really just something for people who want to stay there just a little while. Unfortunately for a longer period the hotel is inappropriate.

Stayed for 1 nt. hotel is right at the end of the esplanade. Lovely views and sunset over the sea. On checking in we asked about a standard and a superior room, as we hadn’t precooked our visit, lady on reception with abit of effort could have sold us a superior room but when I asked if we could see both rooms she said not as she was alone on reception ( in other hotels we have been given a key to look ourselves) in the past. Standard sea view room was very nice, however neither did she recommend we needed to book to eat in the restaurant, and being a Monday evening we didn’t think it would be necessary, we were wrong, only 1 chef on so couldn’t eat there. Decided to walk into town to eat, definately go the road route, hotel suggested a back way by the harbour, not a good plan, after a long dark explore the exit was blocked, so stick to the road. Checked out in the morning and had a lovely breakfast in the old town at a beautiful bakers shop, better than 25€ ea at the hotel. Would stay again if visiting the beautiful den Haag beaches.
